I was talking with a friend earlier today. He mentioned that a lot of my characteristics and past things I've done are, as he deemed, "not-so-gay." What he was referring to was my 3 years as a firefighter, 1 year in the military, and current study of Krav Maga (Israeli Military Self-Defense: think of Karate, Wrestling, and Jiu Jitsu rolled into one and on crack). He said that if I wasn't openly gay, no one would ever peg me as such. I thought this was interesting.

So now, your turn... What is the "Not-So-Gay" you? What characteristics, traits, abilities, experiences, etc. are so different from the LGBT norm that it seems too heterosexual to make sense? Okay, GO!

Uh, I am not sure. Not that I can really say I am completely straight but not completely gay either. I am not really sure as beyond physical attraction, I don't really feel anything for most people.

Ummm...does talking belly dance count? I studying health information management and sometimes sew and make jewelry but I find it kind of boring, I just like the final result. Most of what I sew are costumes and a few are for crossplay.

Traits are different. Due to have high amounts of Testosterone. I am more aggressive among other things.

People are always one of two things with me, either telling me I'm made of rainbows and glitter, or that there's no way I'm gay. I have a semi-effeminate voice and gestures, but I don't really flaunt it. I played football in high school for three years (but in reality, football IS kinda gay, the tight pants, the homoerotic rituals), I weightlift, and...Idk what else, I've never really thought about it.

I can't think of anything specific, but I was talking with my cousin and he said "You are really good at acting straight." Apparently I do this involuntarily, He said if he had not known I was gay, he would never have guessed. I actually get this from alot of my friends...

Well let's see...

I'm studying to be a forensic anthropologist (or pathologist, haven't decided), which would involve me to be around dead bodies on a regular basis. Don't think that's really straight acting, but I know a lot of people wouldn't do it because it's "gross".

I have absolutely no qualms about getting dirty. I love being outside adn walking through forests and whatnot (trails are overrated xd ) I'm not really into any sports, but I love kayaking. Last time I actually went I think I kayaked for 8 hours or so. I would've gone more, but I was with family that time and they were tired... emotion_eyebrow

For a gay guy, I'm pretty much a slob. emotion_omnomnom Right now my dorm room looks like a whirlwind passed through, and I'm completely content with it. I think that's about it...

Well, I'm better at video games than my straight brother...
Racing games, fighting games; I've beat him at all of 'em. But my little sister's catching up to me...

My room is a disaster zone.
I've been planning to clean it, but it's not a priority because the piles of junk are situated in a way that I can live around them.

I'm into trains, railroading, stuff like that. Especially steam trains. Those things are pretty dirty with the smoke, soot, and oils.
Ask me anything about trains, I can give you a pretty good answer even if I don't know.

Junk food is a very important food group to me.

I can't dance for s**t.

Apparently, I acted straight enough through high school that only a few people suspected that I was gay.

I think when people look at me to be honest. Because unfourtunately I attract men. I hate it. I wish I had an appearance that attracted women more often than it does. D: But I mean I wear rainbow and ties every day because Its something I love doing but Id think it also kinda points me out but I guess not always cause this one kid went out of his way to tell me he would have never guessed. but oh well. I'm not changing my appearance just so I look gay. Inside's what counts. razz

My father once told me to be more like the gays on television because they are neat freaks and I'm a slob.

I get this a lot, from my brother and firends. they say "Dude! you don't do any gay things or act gay!"
my brother even asked "how could you be gay? you've had girlfriends in the past and you are like really really manly"

I just think everyone thinks gay people are all the same, you know that everyone fits the stereotype.

what's not so gay about me?
-I like fighting (as in martial arts)
-I'm not that clean lol, I'm actually a really mess type of guy.
0I'm not organized at all lol
-I don't really care what i look like when going out, like I just throw on the first thing that i see .

eh... idk what else xD

Hm... I think my overall persona screams "straight girl!"

I'm basically the most femme lesbian you could picture, except I hate dresses. Fashion in general is a huge priority for me, though. I suck at sports, too, which conflicts the lesbian stereotype.

Also, apparently I unintentionally flirt with guys, and since I guess I'm fairly attractive, they definitely get pissed off when they find out I'm queer.

I swear, I don't give off a single gay vibe, that is until I'm talking to a guy and he says something about how hot this or that actress is, and I'm all, "I KNOW RIGHT! I would do her."

I don't know if it counts.. but I came out officially to my bestie over the summer. While it was common knowledge I looked at girls, liked being with them and whatnot, she was surprised when I told her I was bi. She actually said "no you aren't" to me. -_-

I come off as very average, very normal to people. So when I deviate from that, they're always surprised. I think my friend's reaction was like the way my coworkers reacted when they found out I cosplayed. "But you look so normal" they'd say.

I'm the opposite. I'm straight, but people always, always think I'm lesbian. It doesn't bother me, I was in the outcast group all through high school. And out of twenty of us, four of us weren't bi or les (Went to an all girls school).

I don't know what I'm doing exactly to give of that vibe most of the time, but sometimes it's because me and my sister hold hands when we go shopping and stuff, so people who've never met us just assume. smile Anyway.

I act like every other straight guy. Sports, work out, lack of outward emotion, etc.

I think it's easy for me because I also find girls attractive, so I get to partake in the "WHAT A RACK!" conversations. I just leave out the hot-dudes part.
