Say if I had a male calico cat, those are rare but anyway they are said to be sterile. Should I still get him nurtured even if he couldn't reproduce?
And white cats with blue eyes are they all deaf? Or just a high number of them?

No clue on the first one, but I think the blue eye'd white cat thing is due to a mutation, causing a large number of them to go completely or partially deaf, but all of them, I highly doubt, they would have (sadly) died off due to natural selection, I would imagine anyways. -Just educated guess, may want to look for more reliable information-

Yes, it's true that male calicos are sterile. However not reproducing is not the only outcome of neutering. It also reduces the chances of your cat spraying and your balls can't get cancer if you don't have them, right?
And oddly enough something about the genes that creates white coats and odd colored eyes does sometimes have an effect on sight and hearing. The pure white gene is even deadly for most horses. But no, not all blue eyed whites are deaf. You remember Crackers? She was white and had one blue eye but she wasn't deaf.

Yes to the first one for most cases and I had a white cat with blue eyes named Anya that wasn't but as my vet explained a good number of them are because of a genetic quirk. They can't explain why it seems to be white cats with blue eyes it just is.

I was talking about both eyes being blue. I didn't know that it was deadly for horses. gonk

Naw both eyes or one eye. Doesn't mean they're always deaf. And yes true white horses are rare because of the gene.

yes neuter him, he will be healthier and nicer. and not all of the white cats with one or both blue eyes will be deaf, did you know that they usually will be deaf on the side with the blue eye though? interesting little fact ^-^
