I've been trying to think of how we could maybe keep everything alive and up-to-date with whatever new members may show up in the future, and I was thinking we could have a set of "seasons" organized for the roleplay. So, for instance, Season 1 could be focused primarily on the war against Saphir and the Biyotiks, and maybe some time thereafter, we could have a general "end" for Season 1 and start Season 2 with whatever idea we come up with (ex. new villian, returning villians, etc...).
We could also keep a "log" with summaries of each season in the archives; I could make a subforum specifically for roleplaying (though you are allowed to be in character anywhere else in the guild) and have all the threads moved to the archive once that season was over. Then, I could make a subforum in the archives for that season (sorry for word redundancy) and have a list of all the threads, links to them, and a summary of the entire season at the top. That way, people who join later on can keep up with the drama and get an idea of what's going on.
Of course, if anyone wanted to, they could (and should) message me with their own stories about their characters for that season just so all side-stories and character developments are kept in track with everyone. While it seems like a lot of work, I really think this could be implemented if we all worked together on this. It'd give the guild a sense of direction rather than people being kind of lost on what to do next and just quitting. What do you guys think? Do you have any other ideas? Any changes you'd like to make?
I should note that I'm not saying people can't have separate roleplays from the main storyline, they very well can.... and if they want it archived, they could message me with that info. Does that make sense any?

I like this idea for seasons. It will certainly keep everything organized! The log is a good idea too. For the side story part, why not keep that in the literacy section? You could create a thread in one of the seasons subforums with links to the stories so everyone knows what season that story happened in.

Sailor Asteria I like this idea for seasons. It will certainly keep everything organized! The log is a good idea too. For the side story part, why not keep that in the literacy section? You could create a thread in one of the seasons subforums with links to the stories so everyone knows what season that story happened in.
Oh, so you mean let people put their side-story season recaps in a designated thread under the Literacy subforum, and then include a link in the archives to it? Not a bad idea at all, actually. 3nodding

What I'm trying to figure out now, however, is this: When do we decide when a season ends and a new one begins? Should we allow a waiting period of maybe a day or two (or even a week) between seasons just so we can discuss the summaries and decide what to plan for the next season? This isn't really related to this proposal, but it could play a part in it however.

Yeah, I agree. Maybe we could allow people to continue side stories during waiting periods just as long as they don't cause major impacts on the main story. Like, you know, new relationships, new interests, blah blah blah... Some shows have it where there's stuff that happens between seasons which they clue you in on with the next season, but they don't actually show those events. It could keep it from being an issue that we're on a pause for planning, and still give us enough time to make sure the next season is well prepared.
When it seems like the next season should be started, we could hold a vote to end the original season and then announce that it has ended.

Okay! Since there seems to be no opposition to this, I am locking the thread and as of now we will be implementing this idea. If any of you have an alternative you really want to see happen in regards to this subject, make a new proposal.
