As i'm typing this i have my Gameboy color next to me right now with Pokemon Crystal inside it. That is the one i would pick as my favorite. What makes it the best for me is the feeling you get. Every time you start a new game it feels like a fresh start.
But never mind feeling for a while. The Battle Tower in Crystal is a beast. I kind of stopped playing pokemon after Sapphire. The battle tower is Sapphire was a bad joke compared to the one in crystal.
The pokemon games are never challenging at all. Which is why getting my a** kicked so many times in the battle tower was a welcome change. Finally defeating one character there is an achievement all on its own. In fact, the level 10 pokemon were harder to beat then the level 100's for me there.

I own Ruby. It's mah baby. XDD
I like all the games, though. I played Red online for a while, me and my friends laughed at the awful graphics, but if you compared Red to Black, you still see the same elements that the Pokemon company has kept over all these years for it to be the same game we've all come to know and love. :3

hmmm, i own yellow, blue, silver, gold, crystal, and ruby at the moment! id have to say yellow is my favorite because it was my first, but its a really tough choice gonk

I've been around since the beginning of the games so I've got Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Ruby, Emerald, Diamond, Platinum, SoulSilver, and White Versions.
I still play my old gen 1 and 2 games every now and then including my Stadium games. I like the new White/Black but SoulSilver will always be my favorite since it was a remake of my favorite generation. That and i could have my Typlosion follow me wherever i went. whee

The first game ever played: Stadium
First game ever owned: Emerald. I love Emerald so much, that on that Christmas, I stayed "Glued" to a chair playing it, then everyone started calleing me "Chairla". But I also like Diamond, HeartGold, and Black.

Classic. As in Pokemon "Grey Version." They got it right the first time and really haven't shaken things up much since.

I got my first pokemon game way back when I was about...lets see, pokemon came to the US in what....98? I was about 6, and got the game when it first him shelves. Since then, I've owned one of each version and both the Colosseum and battle revolution games. Needless to say, I am a die hard pokemon fanboy.
My favourite generation would have to be 3rd Gen [hoenn]. The games just seemed to reach a new level then.
Right now, I'm rocking my white version team all the way to the top. I placed in the top 2k in the recent "Autumn Friendly Tournament" they just held....would have been higher if i had my Soul Silver team, but oh well...we'll get them next time!
