▪ ALIGNMENT ▪ Lawful good - A lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. He combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. He tells the truth, keeps his word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished.
▪ LIKES ▪ Napping, fruit teas, candles, small trinkets, reading before bedtime, bugs, photo albums
▪ DISLIKES ▪ Warm weather, long car trips, the dark, the smell of fried foods, hiccuping, hail, clothes shopping
▪ PERSONALITY ▪ Aina is not someone you can take in with just one meeting. To strangers, she is a shy, distant thing who prefers keeping to herself. Interact with her too boldly or in ways she doesn't like, and immediately she'll push away from you. This is, perhaps, a culmination of her selfish and judgmental nature-- she impresses onto others the most negative of her traits before moving forward. So picky is she of those who command her attention, that she doesn't care to entertain the company of those who can't be patient with her.
Yet, when you push past the surface-- when you spare her just a bit of patience and spark her curiosity-- she is as playful as any child, and is twice as clingy. In her black-and-white world of the important and unimportant, those Aina deems as people of worth are showered in her best traits-- she is tirelessly loyal, brave, and selfless. She thrives off of the well-being of those she cherishes the most; they are her world, her reality, and she would do anything to keep her realm stable.
Aina experiences things very intensely, and because of this, she often reacts just as intensely back. In that way, she can easily pick up on the needs and desires of those around her, and responds immediately to them, and with passion. She makes everyone else's dreams and problems her own, even if it means overbearing herself with the weight of everyone else's problems.
▪ POWERS ▪
⒈ Density Manipulation (Active) ▪ Aina can decrease or increase the density of surrounding objects or matter as she wishes; if she decides to control the density of something, however, she can't feed off of it. If she takes away the density of something, objects tend to be very fragile; if they are not given time to regain their density, they can fall apart at the touch quite easily.
⒉ Weather Magic (Passive/Active) ▪ Passively, Aina has a vague sense of what the weather will be like in the upcoming days, intuitively recognizing if precipitation will arrive and how warm it will be. She can wish for storms and has the ability to summon rains, but this power is incredibly draining. This magic is especially potent during the autumn.
⒊ Pomegranate Cultivars (Active) ▪ Aina can wish upon a pomegranate and summon inanimate items to grow within the fruit. She must grow these pomegranates from the ground up, and while it can be anything she can set her mind to, the items can't be bigger than one that can fit inside of a pomegranate shell. Aina must cultivate these pomegranates in order for them to grow successfully, watering and tending to them with as much care as she would with any plant, or they will simply grow to be normal pomegranates.
⒋ Fertile Ground (Passive/Active) ▪ Aina can encourage the growth of new things, both abstract and tangible, simply by being present somewhere while being in a good mood. This is most effective on plants. This encouragement can also linger and stay in a place for longer if Aina leaves something of hers behind in that place, like putting possessions into soil to make it more fertile, or giving somebody a gift and it encouraging the growth of their potted plants.
▪ TRAITS ▪
⒈ Childlike ▪ Aina appears adolescent in human standards, comparable to a 8-10 year old child.
⒉ Horns ▪ Aina's branches grow and must be tended to like any other pomegranate tree; in accordance to Gaia's growing seasons, her branches bear fruit between October and January, and flower during the fall. They require light pruning, and overripe fruit can lead to mold, rot, and pests that can make Aina feel very sick.
⒊ Skin ▪ When Aina feeds off of rain, little freckles decorate her skin.
▪ FOOD SOURCES ▪
⒈ Fresh Rain ▪ The most preferred food choice, Aina can stand outside and absorb rain through her skin. Depending on how heavy the rainfall is, even just one session of rain-feeding can sustain her for a few days.
⒉ Density ▪ Since rain can be scarce depending on the season, Aina's body feeds off of density as an emergency food source. This often happens without her realizing, and while density can keep her going, it's not enough for her to reach her full stamina-- hence her sleepiness most days. When she does feed off of density, the objects she takes it from loses a dramatic amount of its density (usually suspending it in air) for a short period of time before regaining it.
⒊ Pomegranate ▪ Eating any part of the pomegranate-- namely its arils-- provides Aina with a light snack.
⒋ Seasonal Cycles ▪ While not necessarily a food source, Aina tends to be more revitalized during the fall and winter seasons-- she blooms with the pomegranates.

▪ Creativity ▪ 30 ▪ Everyday is another tale to tell: Aina thrives off of stories, adventures, and playtime, and it shows in her curious nature and thought processes.

▪ OCCUPATION ▪ High school teacher at Barton Prep HS; volunteer curator at Durem Historical Museum's educational program
▪ ALIGNMENT ▪ Neutral good - A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them.
▪ LIKES ▪ Gardening, reading, cooking, tea, mornings, thematic bowties, playing the piano

▪ APPEARANCE ▪ Duncan looks a mellowed old man. He has a fluffy bed of white hair on his head and a layer of soft wrinkles that surround his features that frame his round, gray eyes, which have dulled somewhat since he was a youth. He is of a thinner build, having lost so much of his potential pudginess as soon as he started to work again in the gardens. He has a pair of perfectly rectangle glasses on him always, as his eyesight both near and far has been terrible for as long as he can remember.
▪ PERSONALITY ▪ Duncan Clarke is resolute in his kindness. He believes in the very best in people, and should he need to, can provide them with the patience and trust that they may want, even if his own emotions may be stretched thin. He believes very much in being a stable, guiding force, as a culmination of being both a teacher and a parent. A pessimist turned optimist, he undermines the consequences and faults of things if it means allowing for second chances and seeing people grow.
Just as Duncan is emotionally giving, he is emotionally stable. He is disciplined in the way he leads his own life, and firmly believes in sticking to his busy schedules. He makes sacrifices in lieu of efficiency and strives for the best in himself, as well, which often shows in his work. When things run smoothly in his work-life, it often reflects in his mood-- he is calm, sociable, curious, and easily pleased.
When things don't run smoothly, however, or should he lose control of his emotions, Duncan can be passive and defeated. The errands he must run and the support he must give fall to the wayside and he becomes easily depressed, uncertain, and condescending. Even if Duncan does fall into such a state, he uses every bit of his energy to appear stable toward others. This, in some way, is an act of pride-- allowing others to see him at his worst is a grave fear of his.
▪ HISTORY ▪ Duncan was a military brat born to Sergeant Jeffrey Clarke and Dr. Alexandria Hayes in Boston, Massachusetts. As with any child of the Armed Forces, Duncan moved from base to base with his parents, until his father-- having retired early-- finally settled his family in Staffordshire, England, close to Alexandria's family. Duncan maintained close ties with both ends of his family, but especially with his English grandparents, who were especially well-off and treated their grandson with great care and pride. With everyone's blessings, Duncan moved to Gaia to attend Welles University and pursue his anthropology major.
Duncan met Cerise Bellamy while the two were completing their Masters programs in anthropology and mathematics, respectively. The two married young and had one child, Anne, when Duncan was 28, while the couple was struggling with the start of their careers. They managed to get by with demanding jobs and family support, and even while juggling his graduate studies, teaching, and another day job simultaneously, Duncan was happy. At 35, Duncan received his PhD, and worked as a professor at Blair University and an editor for cryptozoology articles.
Cerise died when Duncan was 40 years old, of cardiovascular problems. He was thrust into single parenthood and decided to reroute his career into teaching at a high school level, to better focus on raising Annie. He chose to retire early at 60, after 20 years of teaching. Five years later, in 2011, Annie died at the surgical table of cardiovascular problems, and Duncan has re-entered the workforce since.

❧ FEL ESSENCE ▪ FLOATING RAIN ▪ On a rainy day, drops of water condense from the clouds above and descend to the ground in small splashes in fractions of seconds, quickly drenching dry surfaces and filling lakes with a new coat of fresh water. Strangely enough, though, these peculiar beads of rain are simply refusing to fall completely to the ground, and remain floating and idling about in mid-air! What's even stranger, though, is that when you try to touch them they disperse into even more drops of water, scattering away from any form of contact.
❧ SOUL ▪ POMEGRANATE ▪ Pomegranates have been cherished for their exquisite beauty, flavor, color, and health benefits for centuries. From their distinctive crown to their ruby red arils, pomegranates are royalty among fruit. They are symbolic of prosperity and abundance in virtually every civilization. Fortunately, this treasure’s versatility and possibilities are as abundant as the juicy arils bursting forth from within.

Mordekai Dempsey Kantor, born March 1st, 1970, is Duncan's son-in-law. Sunny-eyed and goofy, Mordekai lives for getting a good laugh out of people and has a surprisingly innocent disposition and immense faith in most things. Duncan met Mordekai during a particularly rough patch during his fight with addiction and clinical depression, which reared its head after he moved from Louisiana to Gaia at the end of his active service in the U.S. Army. He began his recovery after marrying Annie when he was 27, and landing a job as a farmhand at Hartline Farms helped put some stability into his life in his mid-30s. He helped support Annie through her medical throes throughout their marriage, and was devastated after her passing, contributing to his relapse in 2012. He's well into recovery, now, and despite his initial weariness over the Lab project, he takes his position as Aina's father seriously.
Mordekai likes to cook, watch cartoons, and fix his dilapidated bicycle. He has a soft spot for baby animals and canines, and has a great dane Seabiscuit who lives at his workplace, Hartline Farms. Sometimes, he bakes bread in the early mornings and late nights.
Johan Baptiste Kantor, born May 5th, 1980, is Mordekai's little brother; highly intelligent, stubborn, and even-keeled, he wants the very best for his family and works without rest to make it so. Duncan met Johan when he was Johan's homeroom teacher back in 1997, and while the two began on a rocky path together - as a result of Johan starting fights and being subject to multiple suspensions and detentions - the two became close friends through chats during lunches nonetheless. Their friendship continued to grow after Annie and Mordekai's marriage, and Johan's love for reading was fostered during his many days spent at Duncan's home. With Duncan's counseling, Johan managed to attend university after high school, starting at Blair University in Barton with a Criminal Justice major in 2002, then moving on to receive his Juris Doctor from Welles University in 2004. He now teaches as an adjunct professor at Blair University and runs a private practice office in Aekea. Johan avoided contact with Duncan and his brother after Annie's passing for a while, but now that he's reconnected with them, he speaks frequently with Duncan and is Aina's quiet, nonchalant uncle.
Johan likes reading, dancing competitively with a fellow professor, Iris Grover, and puzzles. His favorite author is Kurt Vonnegut and favorite children's author is Shel Silverstein; he also fancies high fantasy novels. He goes on long walks to relax and his dimples show when he smiles.
Anne May Clarke-Kantor, known as Annie to friends and family, was born June 25, 1973. Energetic, bright, and sociable, Annie stood out from her quieter, more reserved family, and wanted to carve her own way through life. She struggled through university as an English major until she ultimately dropped out during her second year, then begun cycling through odd jobs until she landed a job as a manager of a small business bookstore in her mid-20s, around when she proposed to and married Mordekai. After that, she happily helped and found a bookstore lovingly named The Ladybird, where she worked until her passing on October 1st, 2011. Despite her many health issues, the same ones that her mother had before her death, Annie maintained an optimistic view of life and remained a steadfast friend to many and a prolific, much-liked manager to her bookstore.
Annie liked arts and crafts, making music, and organizing parties. Never the type of person to let things go, she kept most of her childhood toys and other beloved trinkets with her, despite having moved frequently. Annie kept in touch with all of her old high school friends and had a reunion brunch with them every year. She liked birdhouses and had too many of them in her backyard.
Cerise May Bellamy-Clarke, born November 14, 1949, is Duncan's late wife. While the two were both Masters candidates at Welles University in Durem, they didn't cross paths until they met at her workplace at the train station, where Duncan frequently commuted from to work. Cerise received her Masters in mathematics while pregnant with Annie, and later moved on to teach as a Mathematics professor at Blair University in Barton. Diligent but often seen as carefree by friends and family alike, Cerise was in charge of raising many of her siblings and introduced Duncan to her wildly different life, helping him become a warmer, kinder person in the process. She passed away at the age of 40 on November 29, 1989, of cardiovascular failure.
Cerise liked studying astronautics, reading tarot, and collecting Golden Age comics. She loved supervising university clubs and decorated her office for every holiday she celebrated. She made a habit of picking up new hobbies and skills at a drop of her hat. She loved fair food and preferred having funnel cakes over traditional ones for her birthday.

❧ EXTENDED FAMILY
Both sides of Duncan's families are quite successful - the Hayes family on his mother's side resides mostly in Staffordshire, England, where his grandparents' estates are taken care of by his many younger cousins. The Clarke family, his father's side, are mostly scholars and entrepreneurs - as Duncan spent most of his life at the Hayes estate, he's only somewhat aware that most of them live in Boston, Massachusetts. As an only child whose parents passed long ago, Duncan doesn't have much of a reason to keep in contact with the Hayes and Clarkes, but he makes sure to write as often as he can to his cousins in the United Kingdom anyway. While his cousins never visit Gaia, they reply quite diligently to his messages.
The Bellamy family, Duncan's in-laws, are significantly less close-knit than the Hayes and Clarkes. Cerise was the oldest of six, with three half-sisters and two half-brothers from separate fathers. Cerise's mother, a journalist, moved her family around to many places, never settling for long, starting at New Hampshire and finally settling down in Gaia. After her mother passed away, Cerise took care of Marilyn and Rebecca, the youngest members of the family. Cerise and Duncan were both particularly close to Rebecca - now Rebecca Esther Petit, born July 3, 1963 - who is a piano instructor and mother of three, Jocelyn Bellamy-Min (born October 26, 1992), Jillette Nicole Petit (born September 1, 2002), and Jerri Mathis Petit (born June 27, 2001).

Duncan's house is in a small, bucolic neighborhood just outside of Barton's city walls and just a few minutes' drive from Bass'ken. It's a simple, comfortable place that has seen better days; its 1900s affects could use some remodeling and repair, especially with nature so close. It is two stories tall, with two smaller bedrooms and a master bedroom upstairs and a warm, clean kitchen and entertainment room downstairs. It's always bright inside and often smells of pine and flowers and a fresh breeze.
Duncan and Cerise's pride and joy is the garden they began building together - just past a low fence, painted white, their garden has two sections - the backyard patio for the flowers, and the back area nearer to the forest for produce. The product of over four decades of both labor and love, it's expansive and lush throughout the year. There's a pomegranate brush near the front of the garden, visible from the patio, that serves as a beacon for Duncan's home for many fairies.
There's a small cobblestone road that begins at the end of Duncan's garden and trails through a small forest, surrounded in ancient trees and saplings - a run-down gazebo filled with books and leaves is tucked away here. A thin stream that appears in the spring leads to the end of the forest and the start of a dirt road with the expansive Barton and Bass'ken plains overhead.

The graveyard where Annie and Cerise are buried, it's an old place, but well kept. Set on a hillside, Graceland is a simple few minutes' drive from Duncan's home, and is surrounded by nature. Duncan and Mordekai visit often; Mordekai does so routinely every 1st of the month, and Duncan does so when he can.
▪ HARTLINE FARMS & FARM STORE ▪ 10 Pheasant Run, Bass'ken, Gaia
Mordekai is a veteran farmhand who's worked under Hartline Farms' wing since the early 2000s. A fairly small hybrid farm, Stephen has been the owner of Hartline Farms since his youth, and manages it with his much younger cousin Maree and a few of both fluctuating and loyal employees. Hartline Farm's bountiful and healthy livestock and produce is usually vended out to farmer's markets across Gaia throughout the year, and they help stock a variety of local restaurants and smaller markets in Barton and Durem. Hartline Farms has a market of their own right on site, but given that it's quite a ways from civilization, they never procure much business through it. Seabiscuit, Mordekai's great dane, lives right at the farm in Stephen's home, which is connected to the farm store.
▪ BLAIR UNIVERSITY & BARTON PREPARATORY HIGH SCHOOL ▪ 2700 Harrison Avenue, Barton, Gaia
Duncan works as a humanities teacher for a college preparatory high school located at the edge of Blair University's campus. Barton Preparatory High School (BPHS) is a small public high school, with approximately 400 students of diverse ethnic and racial groups; their mascot is the Chanticleer. Blair University (BU) is not quite so small - located in downtown Barton, BU has approximately 20,000 students annually, and specializes in the Social Sciences and Magical Arts. Johan currently teaches as an adjunct professor in the Sociology Department, instructing courses for general requirements and teaching an Intro to Criminal Law class every winter quarter. BU's mascot is the Fox.
▪ PETERS BUILDING ▪ - 15950 Peters Street, Aekea, Gaia
Johan's consulting office is located on the third floor of the Peters Building set in a bustling business area in eastern Aekea. It's a modern, sleek building, a recent renovation of the older Peters Building that was founded in the 1950s, and is a testament to the recent reconstruction eastern Aekea has been going through as of late. Johan is a fairly young and novice criminal lawyer in the area, but he's doing well for himself. While he doesn't have a legal assistant on the payroll, he takes in a few interns from Blair University to help him with his paperwork, and has his loyal receptionist Janet by his side.

A quaint little bookstore in a building modeled after a small, cozy Victorian home, Annie helped found The Ladybird back in 2000. 16 years running and still going strong, The Ladybird also has a small cafe inside of it and hosts a number of book clubs and parties, which is usually located in the plush meeting quarters just up the stairs. The owners, Marcus and Sara Aramburu, are avid bakers and were long-time friends of Annie during her high school days.

An extremely wide stretch of beach that's open yearlong. The alcove Aina visits is at the rightmost portion of Yarrow's Point, over a path of jagged rocks that would be hard to navigate for anyone with, well, feet.

Cypress Academy is a school for magical children located in northernmost Barton, close to the piers that dock ferries going into Gambino. After a lot of deliberation, Duncan chose to place Aina at Cypress Academy, largely encouraged by her enthusiasm for the school.

Cruz was the first Raevan that Aina had ever met, and their meetings together have been frequent ever since. An older brother to her through and through, Cruz and Aina often have many misadventures, much to the vexation and weariness of their families. It's no exaggeration to say that Aina takes Cruz's word on everything, trusting him completely and never doubting his choices, for better or for worse.

Despite Ethiriel being much older than her in Raevan standards, Aina is very protective over her gentle and often demure babysitter. Ethiriel frequently watched over Aina throughout 2015, strengthening their already magnetic friendship. Aina missed her terribly during her hiatus from babysitting for her eye surgery, and is happy and eager to reconnect with her.

The first two months of Aina's births were catastrophic in its own right, and Cesc was there to observe the chaos that followed at Durem Historical, which led to a wing full of destroyed artifacts and one stag with a near heart attack. Needless to say, the magic Cesc used to save the museum from Aina's unknowing destruction was enough to move the baby Frei considerably. Things have since calmed, and Aina loves visiting Cesc when she can at Gambino to bake and play ball with him at Gambino.
Aina has also met Lazarus, Iorek, Vesna, and Lorin.

Anita is one of Aina's most steadfast caretakers. Aina has a lot of love and trust for Anita, especially because of how intertwined she is with the household. Because of how comfortable she feels around Anita, Aina can act more juvenile and playful than she usually does around most, but Aina is also keen on asking Anita advice on a lot of matters - including questions about papa and grandpa.

Aina has known Leigh as her aunt since day one, and though she cried relentlessly the first time Leigh held her, Aina quickly grew comfortable with her aunt and loves her dearly. There's always an equal touch of magic and relaxation when Aina gets to visit Auntie Leigh, and they're always caught napping or with their noses in storybooks and crafts together. To Aina, she's a fountain of knowledge, wisdom, and humor, and definitely makes her uncle seem less Grumpy.

It's rare for Aina to cling quickly to anyone, but that's just what she did with Miss Claire during the Lab's anniversary tea party in 2015. A calming, ever-kind presence, Claire immediately comforted the stranger Frei without question, and making teapots with her led to Aina feeling a quiet fondness for her. Her fondness only grew the more Aina was able to see Miss Claire (and silly Mister Aaron), and she's hopeful and eager to meet her baby Raevan.

Aina met the enchanting Vivi at a Lab-hosted Halloween party back in 2014, and though their introductions were brief, Aina was starstruck. Though they have only been able to meet a few brief times since, she is always taken by Cesc's vivacious guardian and her amazing bakery!
Aina has also met Oliver Kipling, Zeke Farris, Ian Flynn, Henry Knight, Josh Peterson, and Lorenzo Fisch.

Aina anticipated meeting Damien for a long time, and it took a surprising while given that Damien and papa work in the same farm. They finally met in January 2015, and Damien definitely made a lasting impression on the girl. Given how close he is with Mordekai, Aina sees Damien as her silly uncle, and he always succeeds at making her laugh. He plays with her during her more hyperactive months during the autumn and winter, when they get into all sorts of hijinks.
Aina has also met Gertrude Maplethorpe, Gabe Knight, Shepard Ryan, Ivy Wainwright, Aaron Holmes, Cadi Mascarani, Minerva Marlene, and Melanie Devereux.

Friend ▪ Duncan was just shy of visiting Cruz during the Lab's summer party back in 2012. Fortunately, Cruz's guardian accepted the offer to visit his garden for tea, and Duncan was able to meet the amiable Raevan. A charming and frequent presence in his home, Duncan enjoys Cruz's company and appreciates the help he lends around the house and positive influence he has on Aina.
Close Friend ▪ Jolly Green is undoubtedly one of the only Raevans Mordekai is close with. He met the crocodile back when Duncan was hosting Thanksgiving at his home in 2013, where Cruz helped him decorate the sweet potatoes with marshmallows. Needless to say, Mordekai still treats Cruz like a child, and lovingly so, though he also relies on him to be a big brother to Aina when he's too occupied to look after her himself.

Friend ▪ Ethiriel is the most well-mannered Raevan Duncan has ever met. The two were able to introduce themselves during the Lab's Secret Santa function before Aina was born, and the two hit it off immediately. He was grateful when Ethiriel accepted his request to look over Aina during his busier days. In June 2015, he began tutoring Ethiriel in playing the piano, though their practice days have been infrequent since Ethiriel's eye surgery.
Acquaintance ▪ Mordekai offered to help Henry with renovating Henry's house to add a simple greenhouse extension for Ethiriel's use back in 2015. He's been able to see her through that, and while he's heard Duncan and Aina both rave about her often, he doesn't know too much about Ethiriel himself.

Fondness ▪ Duncan is eager to praise the boy who helped saved entire wings of the Durem Historical Museum with his bare hands - needless to say, it was an interesting time and way to meet for the two of them. Not only was Rhedefre commendable during that time of crisis, but he was equally kind to Aina the entire time, something Duncan will never forget.
Fondness ▪ The first time Mordekai was able to talk much with Cesc was before the stag got pummeled to the ground with snow during Lab's New Years Eve celebration in 2016. Before then, there was a certain air of mystery about Rhede heightened moreso by Aina singing so many praises about him. He's very fond of the stories, and is eager to one day meet someone Aina looks up to so much.

Close Friend ▪ Duncan met Anita through a summer garden hosted by Lab back in 2012. Their friendship blossomed, unfortunately, through family hardship and tragedy - but Duncan is grateful to have met Anita nonetheless. A reliable, trustworthy, and grounding presence, Anita is always a welcome face in his home, and he hopes to be as helpful to her as she continues to be to him.
Love ▪ Anita and Mordekai's friendship blossomed through intense awkward holiday gatherings and through mutual acquaintanceship with Duncan, and there their relationship stayed for a couple of years, especially while Mordekai kept Lab 305 at an arm's length at best. As misunderstandings cleared and it became obvious the two had more than one thing in common, meetings together became more private and felt natural, despite the distance between them. They've been dating since August 2014, and Mordekai feels tremendously lucky to have his best friend as his significant other.

Familial Love ▪ Duncan knew Leigh as one of Annie's best friends since the early 2000s, and has known Leigh for almost as long as she has been in Gaia. Duncan adores Leigh and she is nothing short of a daughter to him - he was heartbroken to have lost contact with her back in 2011. In 2014, they reunited with Mordekai's help, and their relationship has managed to pick up just where it left off.
QPs ▪ Mordekai has known Leigh for a Long Time, and they've been through a lot of bullshit together, to say the least. He's enjoyed his fair share of gallows humor with Leigh around, and after getting to know each other they realized they had more in common than they realized, and he's called her his sister ever since. Despite their closeness, Mordekai turned his back on Leigh and stopped talking to her for a long time after Annie's death - but they've since seen each other again often since 2014. Though he apologized for his many mistakes during their reunion, Mordekai still feels a lingering guilt and concern over some things they haven't talked about.

Fondness ▪ Mordekai knows Vivi as a friendly frequenter to Hartline's booth at Gambion's farmer's markets. The humorous Vivi is always a delight to speak to, and he finds amusement and reprieve in being able to gossip en français with her - much to the annoyance of Shepard, it seems.

Like Duncan, Mordekai believes Claire is very kind, and admires her gentleness around Aina, but he loves the humor and goofiness in her that he got to see in full at the NYE 2015 gathering as well.

Acquaintance ▪ Duncan does not know Damien well, but his name is frequently mentioned when he speaks to Mordekai. He worries for Damien and his son-in-law's health more often than not, but finds him amiable company on the rare occasions they see each other. They first met back in July 2014, for a Fourth of July celebration at his home.
Close Friend ▪ Despite Damien being one of Annie's close friends, Mordekai was rarely able to meet him and admittedly forgot about him until Damien's sudden presence at Hartline Farms in 2014. It was a shock to him to see Damien this way, but the two quickly built up a friendship and have been insufferable assholes together ever since. While their many nights together might not necessarily be the safest or the healthiest, Mordekai couldn't ask for a better friend.

Mordekai helped Cam start up his bar, What Ales You, and volunteered his services in the kitchen when needed. Due to a falling out, Mordekai has not seen Camille for the past couple of years.

Every meeting since has been just as fruitful, though rare; Duncan appreciates Ivy's gardening wisdom and hopes to invite her and her family over for more dinners in the future, hopefully without the lingering worries of a dying leshy in their forest.
Acquaintance ▪ Mordekai finds Ivy incredibly charming and kind; he respects her and admires Ivy and Duncan's friendship from afar, but also can't get enough of her spunk and quick wit (especially around Aaron) himself. She made a lasting impression on him after their first dinner together, and is hoping to spoil both her and her family with more produce than they can handle the next time they're over.

Acquaintance ▪ Having been over to Anita's apartment so often, Mordekai's had the honor of meeting Minerva's acquaintance on more than one occasion. She was always friendly, but something of a mystery until they sat down and really spoke about the nature of his and Anita's relationship before Christmas in 2014, and now his respect is more out of understanding than some underlying, unspoken fear. Not only is she a great mother, but she's also a great cook and can carry her liquor.
Duncan has also met Jeremy Black, Aaron Holmes, Shepard Ryan, and Minerva Marlene.
