Ribbit. Chirp. Chirp. Ribbitchirpchirpribbitchirp.

Ghost-flower, curious and free to wander where her hooves took her, had her eyes closed as she trudged through the swamp, relying purely on instinct and the chirpchirpribbitchirpribbitchirpchirp of the toads and the birds to lead her along. As she went, blinded to everything but sound, her hooves caught on roots and bits of swamp muck.

Did this make her open her eyes?

No. Of course not. You cannot hear if you rely only on sight. Or something equally wise-sounding.

Finally, though, she had to crack an eye when her hoof caught yet another root, this one sending her falling facefirst into the muck. She sputtered, stumbling to get up, and shook the muck out of her face, grumbling a little. "How am I supposed to be wise if I can't even walk with my eyes closed?" She groused, shaking her head again to flick muck off of her face. In her frantic shaking, she nearly missed today's lesson. Her eyes caught the dim light of a firefly, and she lit up.

"Oh! Oh, wait, hold on--" She stumbled quickly, chasing after the bug as it flew away from her. And so the race was on, Ghost-flower running and leaping over roots and moss in an attempt to run down the little glowing bug.

Glow had seen a firefly hovering about the end of her log and immediately started chasing after it. She had stumbled and lost sight of it for a long time, but she finally saw it again coming from behind a tree! She lept forward....

And rammed straight into an antlered doe. She went head over tail with the doe, knocking up her knees a bit. She took a quick glance at the firefly, and then chided herself. She had just run into and possibly hurt someone! This was no time for fireflies!

She immediately untangled herself from the doe and profusely apologized.

"Ohswampgoddessareyouok? I'msosorryIreallyhopeIdidn'thurtyou!" She nosed gently at the does' legs, making sure they weren't hurt.

At the same time that the darker of the two blue does leapt, Ghost-flower had been running headlong after it. The only possible conclusion? Disastrous.

Suddenly, Ghost was rolling head over hoof with a second doe, until finally they came to a stop. For the moment, Ghost was dazed. What just happened?! Shaking her head and squinting a bit, she spotted the supposed attacker. Oh! Another kimeti--

She blinked at the profuse apologies, and instead of being upset or reassuring, Ghost-flower just laughed. It had come unbidden, bursting forward, and she couldn't help it. That was a first, for Ghost-flower, being so focused on one thing that she was practically run over by another!

Today was all about lessons, apparently.

"I'm fine." She giggled out, sniffing. "Really. No broken bones." She even held up one of her forelegs for inspection. "A tumble never killed anyone, as far as I know."
