With a heavy heart and heavy steps a tall green lion stepped foot on what was known as the Kizingo'Zaa pride lands.
There was a sense of reliefe, Or at least he hoped so, as he had taken directions from some strangers after all. The beautiful forest- or maybe it was just something about the atmosphear of this place reminded him of home.
Of course he knew there was more importaint work to be done than having a nostalgia trip; he needed to find his mama and his sisters right away. But this place looked so big... would he ever find them?

Further into the prides territory, Dauna was sitting quietly in a lush patch of grass. She was contemplating a lot of things now that her head was clearing up again. She let her love for talking to the plants of these strange lands take her away from her home pride. No, it would have been too easy to blame such thingies on the insanity; she knew exactly why she wanted her little family to live in Kizingo'Zaa.

She saw the members of this pride live in harmony with the males, keeping them in their family circle far after they had reached their prime. Nanami was still getting use to it, but she could see a bit of flirtiness in her actions now, as she attempted to put males in their place. Perhaps with time, she might even allow herself to love one of them... though that was kind of a long shot.

Dauna in her short time in the pride had seen plenty of lions with natural colored coats with high ranks, and the thought couldn't help but bring a big smile to her face. No longer was her oldest daughter sucesses bound to the color of her coat- but by her own free will.

Her heart begain to feel heavy though, at the thought of her two sons she had left behind. Kujaku she was sure was adjusting well. He was very much like his father, so accepting of his fate as the opposite and inferiror gender. But what about Takeo? He was such a mama's boy and had even seeked her out after he left their family. How was he holding up? Just before they left, Dauna had even told him they could meet every once in awhile. What must he have thought when he realized our little family was no longer even in the K'N lands anymore. It must have been so painful. She could only hope that he had adjusted quickly and never went looking for her again. Maybe...

"Mama?" a quite, yet familiar voice called out to her. She lifte her head and almost saw a mirror image of herself, except he had a mane. Had her insanity returned?

"Mama, it's me." He said in a soft and timid chirp of a voice.

"Take... TAKEO!?" Dauna yelled and ran to her son, pressing her snout into his soft purple mane. "You've grown up handsomly." She shivered, trying to hide exactly how the reunion was making her feel.

"You look good too Mama, I'm happy your doing okay." He comforted her, seeing a side of her he had never been able to back home. She smiled, but suddenly and quickly pulled her head back and looked up into his deep purple eyes. "Dear, does Kuja happen to be with you?"

Takeo's deminor chnaged at his mom's question, reminding him exactly what reason he had come to see his mom. "why don't we sit down and talk."

"Of course we do! Come on over here dear." Dauna said joyfully and ushered him towards her resting spot, once again easing into the spot she had made herself comfortable in earlier. "Now I understand if he couldn't make it, and to be frank I have no idea how you got permission to leave the prides land, much less how you found us."

"So my sisters are still with you?" Dauna gave a reassuring nod; It was something he assumed, but it was nice to hear it confirmed. "I can't wait to see them, though I doubt they will be as happy to see me." the male spoke softly; he knew sisters were much closer to each other from their old pride than they were to their brothers. He still loved them dearly though, and couldn't wait to see how big they've grown. They prolly were both much bigger than him by now.

"I'm sure they will be much happier to see you than you might think." She grinned, he was family after all regardless of what his gender was. "Anyways, please I'm just on the edge of my set waiting to know how you got here."

Takeo paused and then turned his head away, he couldn't even look his mom in the eyes. Something as seriously wrong. "Dear, please.. what's happened?" His mother plead getting nervous with his hesitating.

"I didn't need permission to leave the lands because" He let out a sigh before going on "Well you see, everybody is gone."

Dauna was quiet, unsure of exactly what Takeo was getting at. "I don't understand, why would everyone leave Kunanda'Nakhun...?"

"I don't know if you've ever seen one before, but everyone kept saying it was because of a Plague." His mother let out a gasp at the word, but Takeo wasn't sure himself of what it meant, as the womenfolk had kept the group of males in the dark about the details. He assumed it was some sort of larger animal and the lions were it's prey. "Apparently the Plague hunted a lot of the lionesses in the pride down. It got so bad, everyone who hadn't been hunted yet ran away from the Plague." He hoped that his explanation was satisfactory, but it was difficult to talk about something he knew nothing about. Tried as he did, his explanation was still akin to a cubs point of view on such an event.

"Do you know if Grandma... or your Auntie... were hunted?"

"The males left together in a big group, and I was too scared to go visit the lionesses dens in case the plague was hiding in one. So we never found out what happened to most of the lionesses."

Dauna stayed quiet, resting her head on her paws and thinking about the entire situation that was being presented in front of her. A plague? She knew that the pride was in sort of chaos when she left- many of the younger generation was slowly vanishing, herself included, and there was little to no leadership anymore. Had they offended the goddesses so much that they would unleash a plague upon them? Her entire family could be....

She didn't know what to think, and it all hadn't really sunken in yet.

Takeo got closer to his mother, who suddenly looked so frail and helpless. He wrapped his tail around and rested next to her, gently nuzzling her face. "Mama... I'm so sorry."
