Welcome to Rise & Co. Preserved and Exotic Foods Pte Ltd ORP! Any Kimeti can drop by and make a purchase (or put it on the tab). When each shopping trip is finished, we will treat the next separate customer as a different day. smile For ICly returning customers, food is paid for via either provision of raw resources (i.e. game, fruits, herbs), assistance or professional favours.
PS: It's up to you if each new customer wants to come in and bork up interact with the current customer. See you soon! Rise surveyed his shop: a modest, balding patch of land, situated right at the edge of the saltmarshes, its boundaries drawn with an assortment of large, flat rocks. It was a bustling little sprawl now, littered with high, plentiful stacks of preserved foodstuffs - fruit, reptile, fish, bird, you name it - with his staff weaving in and out. Making his customary management rounds was his greatest pleasure because it reminded him how far he'd come, from being an aimless foal, to an ambitious young buck, to meeting his right-hand man Fell in a trap, his wonderfully capable hires, and the advancement of their methods with his beloved Moonfrost-Like-Ashes... Grey, he reminded himself, smiling as he stepped past her svelte form curled up behind a large rock, disgruntledly sleeping away from the ruckus of industry in preparation for her nocturnal research. . Fell had a critical eye on the sunning fruits - he came by, affectionately nudging his shoulder as encouragement. The girls trotted in and out, mouths full of salted fish; " hhy Bosh!" Fade said through her teeth. Weep dutifully deposited her bunch and carried on efficiently. Rise paused in his steps, estimating when their respective bird and fish suppliers, Vexed and Dark, might return. Always worth the wait, but the advertising push in the Games reduced their fowl stock and he anticipated more demand soon. He joined Fell to stack fruit, and perked up when he saw new Kimeti in the distance. Customers!

The Swamp gave her everything she needed. Her life of wandering meant she took only what she found along the way; always quick to recall the location of nearby berry bushes or edible plants. However she had never been keen for the hunt and kill, which meant she rarely got to try her favourite of foods… and that rare time was when she bought it. So that was why the normally reclusive Kimeti stepped out into view and approached the shop; a bunch of fresh, rare herbs held carefully in her mouth. (( watch me invade all of your rps everywhere ;3 ))

Rise carefully sidestepped the stack, gazed at the doe and searched his mind - no, he didn't recall this lovely little lady, and her little footsteps seemed so intent. He did enjoy being on the front line, and his staff took over the processes so well, so the bossman smiled encouragingly and called, "hey there! Welcome to Rise & Co.'s!"

Only Dreaming paused in front of Rise, nodding her head to him politely and then carefully deposited the little bundle of herbs on the ground between them. “I am after fish, please.” She said, giving him a smile while making it quite clear with her posture that she wasn’t after chit chat.

Snailshell flicks her tail, stopping the small hoard of pets from coming into the shop area. All but one, a small mongoose clinging to Mugwort's back, taking the time to rest and relax in the shade. The last member of the party, Sorrel, follows her mother and brother into the shop. Mugwort and Snailshell both carry vines with various animals tangled in them. Sorrel bears a turtle shell wrapped in huge leaves, stuffed full of herbs for flavorings. Snailshell sets her kills down, out of the way while she waits for the current customer to be served. Sorrel and Mugwort follow her example, arranging the animals - consisting of a foxbun, mongoose, swan and several rabbits - to show them off. Sorrel perks up her chosen herbs, root bundles and dirt still attached to keep them fresh. This done the three sit and patiently await their turn.

Ah, she knew what she was here for. He nodded in return, and called out to the shopgirl who was conveniently sorting the fish and wouldn't traumatise this quiet one: "Weep my dear, could you come assist this lovely lady please? She wants fish."
Another beam and he excused himself to speak to that rather distinctive trio. As he approached he glanced at the gathering of small animals huddled a distance behind - no, Rise, look away, you know how people feel about their pets being pickled. Instead, he turned his eye to the wide spread of offers.
"Apologies for the wait," he started, speaking mostly to the leading doe with a very different tail. "It looks like we've got a big trade coming, don't we?" They had kept foxbuns off the menu because of potential consumer backlash, but it was so very tempting to see how they'd taste - and since they were being presented, well - wasn't this a perfect opportunity! "What might you be looking for?"

Nodding curtly, Weep trotted over and cast a critical eye over the herbal offerings. After a moment of silent examination, her soft little voice finally pronounced, "That's a nice bunch, thank you very kindly - how much fish would you like?" A brief pause as she flickered a glance at her careful stance. "And packed to go, I presume?"

Snailshell waves away the buck's appology with a tail flick. "No need, it wasn't long. I'm not sure what we want, something different from our usual." A rather vague reply but its obvoius she's gathering a mental list to make choosing easier. It'd be easier telling him what we haven't had, Mom." Sorrel says. Her statement has little time to be absorbed before Mugwort adds his own opinion. "Sorr even that list could be long. Maybe we could each pick something." Snailshell nods, liking this idea better then listing what they have, or haven't, had. She just hopes what is asked for is kept in stock, and that Sorr stays on good behavior. Of the two, Sorr is the one most likely to ask for something bizzare and others already dislike her own taste for foxbun.

She followed Rise for only a moment as he left to attend to his other customers, before her attention shifted completely to Weep. “I would like however much the herbs can get me.” Isn’t that how this worked? “If you please.” She offered the other doe a companionable smile and a nod; relaxing with each second that went by. Not that it meant she would stay a moment longer than necessary. “Do you have different types?”

The dynamics of little family squabbles warmed his heart. There was something about the straightforward banter that was so charming (and/or Rise's biological clock was ticking). "It's rare to see a family together like this," he said conversationally, beaming away at them. "And with such varied skills too. Wonderful!
"If I may, I'd love to recommend a few options. Perhaps you might be interested in the pickled reptiles? Mostly salamanders - they were our first product and we've refined the taste to a perfect, salted crunch. The fish, some of which are actually from the shore," he elaborated, proudly, "might also be fresh to your palates.
"But then again," Rise always enjoyed speaking about their multitudes of products, "there's always a new spin on the old meaty favourites, especially with the herbal infusions.
Lastly," he concluded, gesturing to the sunning rock, "I'm not sure whether it would appeal to prolific meat-eaters such as yourself, but the fruits do make for good snacks. Perhaps you'll enjoy some of these options? Please take your time to decide," Rise thoughtfully examined their collection. "I would love to provide fair compensation for these quality goods."

Snailshell nods to Sorr and Mug, both looking eager to have a look. "Take your picks." She tells them, coming wasn't her idea and her kids were so excited about it she figured give them first choice. "Thanks mom." Both Sorrel and Mugwort say, before whispering together to form a list. After several minutes Mug turns back to Rise. "We'd like some fish and salamanders..." Sorr barely gives him time to get that out before asking a question. "Are the fruits sweet or do you salt those too?" Sorr has an insatiable sweet tooth, and while salty sweet is good she prefers almost too sweet.

A quick, sharp smile in return, "Very good." No tab for this one then - she liked her already. Beckoning her over to the fish display, she indicated with a hoof as she spoke, "For fish caught in the swamp itself, we have trout, snapper, grouper, and red drum. Brought in specially by our agents from the shore, we have mackerel and bass from the sea today. The bass is a recent development - have a sample.
"Our offerings from the coast cost more than our local delights," she added, "the rare specimens you have brought - for which we thank you very much - are good for five swamp fish, or three sea fish, or a combination of the two as you'd prefer. We're flexible."

Moving smoothly over to the fish display, Only Dreaming lowered her nose to sniff at the goods. A small, pleased smile flickered across her face. They looked good; very good. So fresh. When offered she took a sample of the bass, chewing slowly as Weep spoke. She had never had fish from the sea before and was pleased by the full, salty taste that filled her mouth.
“I will take a mix.” She decided finally. Looking quietly amused, she made her choices. “Three swamp fish and a sea fish, if that will suffice. Now that I had tried it I can not leave the bass behind.”

"That would be perfect." Retrieving a vine from their ample collection, she bundled the selection across it upon a flat rock, winding the length over and under with practised ease, until it was a serviceable package that she carried to the doe by the vine's ends. "It has been our pleasure to serve you. Do come back anytime."

Red had heard stories of the new shop from the big event he had declined to go to, just because he had better things to do than to show off for some does. Though he was regretting not meeting their new cousins, those they called the Acha. Oh well, more would come, he would meet one someday.
Anyway, this new food shop sounded like the perfect place for him, even if it was out of the way. Really out of the way. He wasn't sure what to expect, but he had very high hopes with this place.
It seemed others had gotten there first, though. Oh well, there weren't that many, and there were plenty of employees to help, it looked. And it looked like that one doe was leaving anyway. When she turned around, Red recognized her.
Only Dreaming!
He automatically took a step toward her, but he froze himself mid stride. She had left before he had awoken, and there was a reason for that. He turned away from her and back toward the shop, patiently waiting for an employee to approach him.
It was good to know she was ok, he was satisfied with that. Though he was unbearably curious to know if he had any children.
