Sadiq stared at the burning battlefield of Greece. He hadn't fought with Heracles, for once. No, this time he was helping Heracles. This was the war to end all wars for Heracles. The young Greek stood only a few feet away, leaning heavily on his cross as he huffed in effort, his side bleeding from where he was stabbed. Shakily, Sadiq walked over to him.
"Ya alright, kid?" He asked.
Heracles coughed and looked up weakly before giving a slight nod. "Yeah...I'm okay..."
Sadiq nodded and did a look around the field again. Gupta was checking on Kiku, helping the Japanese man stand on shaky legs.
"Some battle huh?" Sadiq asked, mostly to himself. Heracles huffed and looked around at his homeland, torn apart and ashen from the fire. He sighed shakily and looked down at the ground, slowly closing his eyes in pure exhaustion. His eyes snapped open when he heard the crackling of marble against marble and he sharply turned, eyes ablaze. Sadiq was standing away from him, next to a marble pillar, and it was crackling greatly as it leaned towards the older nation. Dropping the cross, Heracles ran to Sadiq, new energy surging through his veins; the Grecian blood that fueled his body like liquid fire.
"Sadiq!" He yelled before pushing the man from behind, pushing him forwards and away from the crumbling pillar. Gupta and Kiku snapped their heads at the commotion only to see the young Greek be crushed underneath the fallen pillar. Sadiq crashed into the ground, shielding his face with his arms, his masking falling off. He scrambled back up and looked at the boy and the pillar.
"Heracles!" He cried in disbelief. This boy wouldn't even spit in his direction let alone save his life. Kiku and Gupta rushed over to help the Turk lift the pillar off the fallen man. He didn't move once or make a sound. Sadiq knelt beside him and gently rolled his broken body over, cradling the boy in his gentle hands.
"No...no! Heracles, come on, speak to me. Come on, make a sound. Say something, anything please!" He cried, praying to every god he could think of.
The boy's eyes twitched and slowly opened. "Sa...diq..."
Sadiq gulped and nodded slightly, forcing a smile. "Yeah...yeah it's me...I'm right here."
The Greek breathed in painfully and coughed, a thin trail of blood dripping from his lips. "I...I'm...sorr...y..." He whispered weakly.
Sadiq shook his head. "No...don't be sorry..." He held the dying Greek as gentle as possible.
"Heh...it...hur...ts..."
"Yeah, I know. Just try and stay awake. Kiku and Gupta are getting you help. Just stay with me, alright kid?"
Heracles coughed again and closed his eyes. Sadiq gently shook him. "No, no, stay awake. Don't you dare close your eyes, kid. Don't you dare die on me."
The Greek forced his eyes open again and looked up at the Turk weakly.
"I'm...tir...ed..."
"No, no you're not. That's the wounds talking to your mind."
"Sa...diq...?" He whispered.
"Yeah, kid?" Sadiq asked, gently petting Heracles' hair back.
"Don't....try...and pre...tend...like I'm...gonna...live...y-you know...I'm...not..."
Sadiq tried to swallow, but there was a lump in his throat. "What're you say-"
"This...is the...end...for me...even...if I...got...he-lp...it would...n't help...it's...over..."
Sadiq shook his head. "No, no this can't be it. You can't die like this." Heracles smiled sadly and shakily lifted a hand to touch Sadiq's face. Sadiq gulped and held his hand. "Please, just hang on a little longer. Help is on the way...please..."
Heracles sighed and his eye lids drooped slightly. "So...tired..." He looked at Sadiq weakly and smiled slightly. "Don't...wor...ry...us coun...tries...can...nev...er die...we always...come back...heh...you...may...have to...remind me...what...we were...and if...I refuse...to believe you...make me...remember..." His eyes closed a bit more. "I...lov-...yo...u..." He went silent, his hand dropping limply at his side.
Sadiq stared at the now lifeless body in his arms. He blinked and shook him a bit. "Heracles...? Wake up...come on, kid...wake up..." He felt bitter tears run down his face, shaking Heracles more. "Come on, Heracles, don't do this to me. Wake up!" He hugged the boy close to him, burying his face in his wavy, brown hair. He still felt warm, as if he was still alive, and he smelled like the olives of his homeland that had now gotten darker as clouds covered the sun.
He cradled the broken form in his arms, for the first time in his life, mourning for the lost soul. With a shaky hand, he closed those eyes that would never see again, and wiped the blood away from those lips that wouldn't speak anymore. As he slowly stood up, shrugging away the hands of the other two as they arrived at the scene, he carried his fallen bird, his fallen swan, away.
"Kid...you better come back to me...I'll wait forever for you..." He whispered to deaf ears, praying he could still hear him.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Two years have passed since then, and Sadiq was still waiting. He refused to do anything until his olive-skinned Greek returned to him. When a country suffers, they go into suspended animation, not death, until their country, their body, and their consciousness recovers. In a small room in the back of Sadiq's house, rested the immobile Greek, frozen in time what seemed like forever. Sadiq visited this chamber every day, at the same time, bringing nothing but flowers. He wanted his precious person to be comfortable whenever he woke up. Sadiq at this moment was watering the flowers around the Greek. He sighed sadly and turned away from him, only to look back at the sound of a small whisper.
"Se gnoriso apo tin kopsi...Tou spathiou tin tromeri...Se gnoriso apo tin opsi...Pou me via metra tin yi... Ap' ta kokala vialmeni...Ton Ellinon ta iera...Ke san prota andriomeni...Haire, o haire, Eleftheria..."
Sadiq's eyes widened as he recognized that song, that language. That was the Greecian Anthem, and only one person could be singing that right now. He stared as Heracles' eyes twitched and opened slightly and took in the room around him, then settled on the Turk in front of him.
"Heh...stupid old geezer...there are a lot of flowers..."
Sadiq smiled slightly and chuckled. "Of course, you brat..."
^translation^ We knew thee of old, Oh, divinely restored, By the lights of thine eyes And the light of thy Sword From the graves of our slain Shall thy valour prevail As we greet thee again- Hail, Liberty! Hail!

This was really good!!! A few spelling errors, but otherwise perfect. I have to recommend this to my brother who is a big TurkeyXGreece fan. He even wrote his own on FF.net called At the End of the Day it's really good.
