Nevado Nevado is a small, arctic island that has only a month of spring like days that occur only during the hottest month of summer- usually July. Other than that, all year round it is a snow covered desert that grows little. It is rich with minerals such as iron and coal, which is mined constantly. Small settlements are scattered around, and the island only has one port, which has the least harsh winters. Each settlement is supplied with its requirements through this single, bustling seaport. The island has little to no government, and is a common stopping point for pirates as Marines barely bother to stop by.

 Luci E. Taleen Luci walked sat under a tree that overlooks the sea, bundled up in a half-way thick coat, snow pants and thick leather boots, staring at the horizon, watching the sun sink. She had been sitting there for many hours now, waiting for some form of a way off of the island. She had been planning to leave soon, as the town elders had almost approved her leaving. She had wanted to leave on a ship of her own, but she was too poor and was almost to the point where she wouldn't care what kind of boat she got on so long as she got away. Sighing deeply, she got up and took one last look at the horizon before smiling to herself, constantly reminding herself she was almost ready. She turned away, picked up her dowel rod and walked home, listening to the crunching snow underfoot.

╔══════════════╗Rayumi Hareda╚══════════════╝ xxxxxRayumi took a deep breath, releasing it slowly in a cloud of white fog. She was leaning over the railing, forearms resting on it easily, restless eyes scanning the horizon. "Have I ever mentioned how much I hate the cold?" Rayumi's teeth were literally chattering in her skull, despite the heavy gray jacket she'd stolen from an ensign, and despite the heavy red woolen scarf wrapped tightly around her neck. "Because I do," Rayumi continued. "For the life of me, I hate this god-forsaken weather." Rayumi's anger was with good reason; the sea was icy, littered with rough iceburgs. Her crew was having a hard time maneuvering around the icy depths, and the hull was good and battered. Being a lowly lieutenant, Rayumi had her crew stationed in some god-forsaken sea that seemed like it should be off the edges of any self-respecting map. Rayumi groaned, and in a blast of her characteristicly fiery temper, Rayumi stood upright, looking towards the deck. "Ensign!" Rayumi bellowed, "Give me a full status report!"
xxxxxThe ensign arrived, jacketless and shivering in the cold. His fingers were shaking, his teeth rattling; he looked like he was almost to the point he couldn't stand. "W-w-w-w-w-well m-m-m-m-m-m-miss R-R-R-R-R-R-Ray-y-y-y-yumi, t-t-t-the l-l-l-l-leaks in the h-h-h-hull ha-have been p-p-p-patched f-for the t-t-time be-being. H-h-h-howe-e-e-ever if w-w-w-we d-d-don't find l-l-land s-s-s-soon w-we w-w-w-won't make it."
xxxxxRayumi watched his struggling with half-lidded disinterest. "Fine then. Thank you- go warm yourself by the fire, or something." Rayumi walked around the deck until she spotted something out of the corner of her eye. An island. Her lips curled up into a small smile. "All hands on deck! Prepare to land!"
xxxxxA few concerned marines stepped forward, eyes wide and confused. "Miss Rayumi! There's no land around here!"
xxxxxRayumi's smile widened. "You poor fools; have you been too busy warming yourselves by the stove? There's land just there! Now bring us in to their docks and start repairs on our ship at once!" Rayumi turned and walked towards the railing once more, leaning out and looking at the small island. What a hellhole, she thought. How can anyone live anywhere so cold?

Luci E. Taleen Luci had was a few feet from her house, when she turned around to look at the sea again, as she had done for years, expecting nothing but the setting sun. Her eyes widened when she saw a ship sailing towards the ship. She stood there in shock before smiling really big and running off towards the Elders' Court. She had decided to leave on this ship, regardless what she had to do to get on it. "Eeellderrrsss!" she cried out, bursting into the room. "A ship is here! I want to leave on that ship!""Luci! You know you are not to burst into the Elders' Court!" the head elder yelled as he stood, "As for the matter considering the ship, what if it is a pirate ship? Or a Marine ship? Or even possibly a World Government ship? Last I was alerted, you hated each of those factions.""But this is different, Elder! I don't care anymore! I just want off of this rock and I don't care what I have to do to get on that ship! I'm ready to just jump on that boat regardless what you elders say! I came to see if I could get on the ship legally before I did anything illegal according to the law of our town!"I understand your desire to get off of the island, and we the elders, have recently come to the decision to let you off the island.At this comment, Luci ran forward and hugged his legs, "Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!" she yelled to all of the elders, holding on to his legs as tight as she could. "However, there is still the possibility the ship won't carry you. You might not have the money required or they just won't carry any passengers. This single ship does not necessarily mean that you are getting off of this island!""I know that! But I will convince them to take me! I'm willing to do anything right now to get on that ship!" Luci quickly got up, bowed in thanks and ran out of the building as fast as she could to the docks.

╔══════════════╗Rayumi Hareda╚══════════════╝ xxxxxThe small marine vessel pulled up to the docks smoothly. In Rayumi's eyes, the ship was a disappointment. While she made sure everything ran as smoothly as an uninterrupted stream, it was small. She was capable of running much larger ships, doing much more than being the highest authority on such a small ship. As the crew ran about, frantically pulling in the sails and tying the ship to the docks, Rayumi put a slender, pale hand on the railing. She heaved her legs over and landed with unexpected grace on the docks. Standing and smoothing some fallen snow off of her pants, Rayumi looked up to the ship with a frown, "Start working on the ship right away! Tidy up the deck, cabins and kitchens for inspection! I'll be looking around first thing when I come back, got it?"
xxxxxThe ensign, still trembling violently without his coat, nodded hastily. Turning his back, Rayumi heard him call out, "You heard the woman! Clean up right away! You know what that means; and more than anything, you know what'll happen if we don't get things squared away soon!"
xxxxxA devillish smile lit Rayumi's face as her subordinates scrambled to clean up. As an after thought, she turned back and called, "Don't mop the decks! At this temperature, it'd freeze and we'd never get it to melt!" Turning back towards the town, Rayumi walked briskly down the dock, ready to search the town for any whispers of pirate activity.

Luci E. Taleen Luci jumped down the long set of stone stairs that led down to the dock, landing squarely before getting up and continuing her sprint. She came to an abrupt stop when she saw a figure walking down the dock towards the town. She started to walk towards the figure, trying to look as welcoming as she could. "Hello! Welcome to the island of Nevado!" she said as she extended her hand out to welcome her.

╔══════════════╗Rayumi Hareda╚══════════════╝ xxxxxRayumi looked up sharply to the girl who'd called out to her. For a moment, she simply stared at her, trying to recall if she'd seen her face on a bounty poster. Only when she decided she'd never seen the girl before in her life, Rayumi let a bright smile light her face, accepting the girl's handshake. "Hi, and thanks for the warm welcome!" Rayumi released the girl's hand and looked about, "It's really cold here- I don't suppose you get a lot of visitors, do you?" Rayumi would be surprised if they did; the island was much, much too cold for her tastes. Remind me to put in for a transfer to somewhere warm and tropical, Rayumi thought to herself. She let her gaze wander back to the girl, making special care to smile. It was easier to get better responses from civilians when you were nice. And besides, Rayumi had nothing to expect from a young civilian. "I'm Rayumi, by the way. Excuse my absence of manners, I'm beginning to think they might've frozen off somewhere when we hit an iceburg."

Luci E. Taleen Luci flinched, remembering she had completely forgotten about the proper mannerism. "Ah, excuse me as well, as I forgot my own manners. My name is Luci E. Taleen." she said, quickly regaining her smile, "I suppose it is really cold, and yeah, we never get visitors. Except for the occasional Marine ship, and rather commonly, a pirate ship. The only people who usually come in contact with us are supply ships otherwise. What brings you to Nevado, Rayumi?

╔══════════════╗Rayumi Hareda╚══════════════╝ xxxxxRayumi's interests were piqued at the sound of pirates coming by "rather commonly." Her smile brightened and her cheer became a little more honest. "We had to land here to repair our ship," Rayumi replied. "It seems our navigator is a bit rusty when it comes to iceburgs and some carelessness aboard the vessel caused a few injuries to our hull. My men are working on the damages right now," Rayumi's mood darkened a bit as she came to talk of carelessness; needless to say, the minute she found out who'd been at the helm when the iceburgs struck, they'd go without food for seventy two hours! Such carelessness...!
xxxxxRayumi released her anger and smiled at Luci once more. "It's a pleasure to meet you, miss Taleen. If I could be so rude as to inquire... do you know if there are any pirates docked presently?"

a ship apeard in the distance and a young man looks at the island "well a island maby i will find a crew member there " he smiles as the ship dockes he jumps off the ship onlt wearing a shirt and a pair of shorts that is holding a sword on each side "finally land" nate grins and puts his hand behind his head and starts to walk towrad the village nate notices the tow young ladies and smiles "hey whats up" he puts a hand up

Luci E. Taleen she turned around and pointed at a small, open stall store. "Concerning the pirates, the last crew that docked stopped by a couple days ago." Luci got a somewhat confused and curious look on. "Do you mind me asking, why?

Luci E. Taleen Luci felt her face go bright red at Nate's gesture. She quickly looked down at the ground in order to think of something to say. "So um, Nate, what brings you to Nervado?" she asked after raising her eyes back to his.

nate puts a big smile on "i came here cause im looking for people to join in my crew" he puts his hands behind his head agian and grins noticeing her face was alittle red "what about u are u intrested" still grining
