...time travel? Has anyone discussed this yet?
She first turned up hundreds, if not thousands, of years in the future. Then she's at Stonehenge way back in the early ADs. Then she just 'happens' to be in America circa the fifties with no obvious indication how sbe came to be there. Considering she still relies on the doctor to bail her out of sticky situations it seems unlikely she has a natty time watch like captain Jack did. And the gal's supposed to be in prison half the time, for pete's sake.
Anyone have the first faintest idea what *that's* all about? >.>

Maybe she stole the Doctor's TARDIS(In the future) and the only reason she doesn't use it around any of the main character is cause of her knowledge of the time laws(Passing over ones own timeline and all).
As we know, the Doctor and River's timelines are backwards to each other, or close enough so, and maybe she had another Vortex Manipulator(Jack's Watch), and that one, like Jack's, burnt out, reason she got another one (Pandorica Opens).
And my final maybe is this: Maybe she is using similar technology to that of the Clockwork Soldiers, ripping holes in Time(The Girl in the Fireplace).
Personally, I have a feeling that either it will never be revealed, or it is none of these.

I think that the 51st century is her home time period, so that would explain why she first meets the Doctor there. And doesn't she have a vortex manipulator?

Maybe she got the Tardis From the doctor Spoiler if you haven't seen the first episode of season six:when he died in the first episode of the sixth season
Or maybe she is herself a timelady and has her own TARDIS

She has the same thing as captain jack, a vortex manipulator. At the beginning of opening of the Pandorica, she receives it off Dorian.

madziee She has the same thing as captain jack, a vortex manipulator. At the beginning of opening of the Pandorica, she receives it off Dorium. Yes, but remember, that is at the beginning of the Pandorica Opens, not for any other episode. We don't know if she is older or younger after that point(Relative to the Doctor's timeline). I think we can assume younger(Cause opposite flowing timelines), and therefore the question is how does she travel before that? Also, how does she get from Stormcage to Dorium, as she deffinately doesn't have one then?

Did anyone think that maybe future doctor gave her a lift? He obviously knows when she needs to be somewhere. Time travel is a wonky thing, it's possible that River had a time travel device or the like that we didn't know about, who knows man. Doctor Who has so many unanswered questions it's scary.

I just assumed she had a vortex manipulator, but I like the idea of the doctor just taking her where she needs to be
