Would you be ok with adopting another child/teen into your family and become a foster family? surprised i think i would be cool with it... if it were a girl ninja idk if another dude and i would be able to co-exist much burning_eyes but yeah, i ask this question cause the first lady here is talkin' bout increasing the amount of foster families out there and whatnot. Dicuss: You cool with takin someone in? If so, boy/girl? before you make your decision.... /foster kid face

Probably not. My house is too small, and I am not great with kids. Not to mention I don't earn enough.
If it is an emergency, I'd probably think about it.

so i would fit in the first problem with the house not being big enough sweatdrop
i believe it said that there are only about 20 qualified foster families while there are over 200 kids needing a house gonk

Though I think I should add this: I did think about the possibility of adopting a kid I knew. I was his babysitter and his mom is a horrible mother; she does the very minimum regarding care for this child and he was two at the time. How bad was she? She let him bathe on his own while I was there, thus wasting my time and endangering his life. I bathed him myself. Not to mention she's extremely stupid. The father of this child had killed their firstborn and got off scot free... But she loves him more than their children. Three years after the death, she was seen walking with him, even holding his hand. She didn't even attend the child's funeral, either. If he was taken away from her, I would have considered taking him in as my own. Even though I'm sixteen years older than him. But this was only because I personally knew this kid and his piece of s**t mother.

Well, I'm don't think my family has ever considered it. And I'm way too young to even consider adopting/fostering a kid on my own.
I don't plan on having kids of my own, but I've thought of adopting a child, or possibly fostering one, maybe later in life, if I'm stable enough and have the money.
But another part of me likes the idea of being without kids and having the freedom to travel the world and do great things.
Sometimes, I think I might be better suited for the "Godmother" or "favorite Aunt" kind of role.

Yes, definitely.
I don't think in my current family, it will happen, but I would be more than okay with it. And when I'm older, I've definitely considered adoption a lot more than actually getting preggers. There are plenty of kids around without bringing more into this already overpopulated planet. Why not give a home to someone who needs it?

Also deadbeat parents, ugh. it's like you hear more about them then the parents who are doing right with their kids. emo

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if that kid was dead by now. I saw him last November at her mother's funeral (I also babysat for her aunt, who she lived with at the time. Her aunt is my mom's friend.) She smacked him for crying and at the funeral she kept passing him around to relatives instead of watching him. >__>
