Coming soon to this guild and its affiliate, The Nintendo Academy is the Summer Clash '11. This event lasts all summer and is made up of many different games, tournaments, and contests.
Many events are to come for yet another summer of gaming fun. All Pokemon-related events will be held here, but all other Nintendo games will have events at The Nintendo Academy. If you haven't already, make sure to join the Academy so you can enter the events hosted there!
If anyone has any suggestions as to types of events, feel free to post them for consideration. This includes any Pokemon WFC game, simulator, or contest. Suggestions for other Nintendo games to host an event for will also be taken.
A list of events will be posted once it is more definite.

Tourney for each of the battle methods, with final being the best of the groups.
Tourney for never used pokemon. (farfetched will say hi)
Prize pool based on post number.
Best art.
Should I find more?

Just keep coming up with any good ideas you have or events you would want to partake in. We're willing to consider most anything.
The Summer Clash has traditionally held a pool of prizes, especially concerning the Pokemon side with event/specially bred Pokemon.
Also, no posting contests. Though art would be a good filler contest.

I really enjoyed the Summer Tournament last year! Only using Fire, Grass, and Water types was quite challenging yet something different.

That's not a bad idea. The tri-type tournaments always seem to be a favorite. Fire, Grass, and Water seems to be the best set to go with.

Could always try to go with something else... Is there a tri-type we haven't done? Fight/Dark/Psy sounds like a great idea.

I was thinking that we host a Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament. I know the game is pretty old, but that doesn't mean people still play it. We should see the turnout of people at the tournament, and see if it is enough for a tournament.

Most Brawl tournament I've hosted on this guild ended up becoming inactive upon their conclusion. There are some that go on record as the last 4 competitors forfieting simply from not showing up.
However, having a Week dedicated to Brawl is not very far fetched.

how about some events showcasing the battle styles introduced in gen 5: Rotation and/or triple battles. Since singles is the standard, why not mix it up a bit this year?

Well, I didn't really have any particular style in mind. I personally prefer rotation over triple, but that's just me. Other members may disagree, so something like that should be decided by a vote. I also like the tri-type idea as well. Seemed like it was pretty popular last year. Dark/Fighting/Psychic sounds interesting.
