"Pain and Loss, they define us as much as Happiness or Love. Whether it’s a world or a relationship… Everything has its time and everything must end."- Sarah Jane Smith, Doctor Who S2 E3: School Reunion

The Sad Passing of Sarah Jane Smith

It is with a heavy heart and a great amount of shock that I report that Elisabeth Sladen, who played Sarah Jane Smith in Doctor Who and Sarah Jane Adventures, passed on this morning, Tuesday 19th April 2011, aged 63 after fighting cancer for some time.
It is so sad to think that we have lost such an icon and the best loved assistant in Doctor Who's history. I loved her work on Sarah Jane Adventures and on Doctor Who. Her work has brought whole new audiences to Doctor Who and she was an amazing actress.
My thoughts are with her husband and daughter this evening.
We must also remember that just a few weeks ago it was being reported about the passing of Nicholas Courtney, the Brigadier, also of Doctor Who fame and also an icon of the series. He was also very much loved by the fans of the show.
To think we have lost two Doctor Who legends to cancer in so many weeks is very depressing and the Doctor Who community will very much be in shock and grief yet again for a long time to come. I hope Moffat acknowledges the two legends passing this series or next as it would be very sad and depressing if he did not.
Of course, we must not forget that the new series of Doctor Who with Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill begins this Saturday (23rd April, St George's Day) so to have this news in the days leading up to the launch is of great sadness. Whilst we must look to the future of Doctor Who, you can never forget the past because so much of today's Who could not have been had it not been for the original series starting way back in 1963.

I realise that I did not place an announcement in here regarding Nicholas Courtney's death but that was due to me not being as affected by his death as I have by Elizabeth's. I have cried for her unlike with Nicholas.

Please place tributes, your thoughts and your memories here. Anyone can post here, whether they participate in the rp or are merely interested in this sad news. Anyone placing any kind of sick/thoughtless/unkind comments here will have their post deleted and I will PM you to tell you and to warn you at least for this section. Thank you.

UPDATE 03/10/2011: Today marks the start of the last series of the Sarah Jane Adventures. The last episodes that Elisbeth filmed before passing away. Please watch them in tribute to our Sarah Jane and remember Elisabeth Sladen with due respect.

It still shocks me that BOTH Nicolas Courtney AND Elisabeth Sladen passed away this year. But the thing is she didn't want anyone to worry about her because she didn't want to make anyone feel sad at all. But try to think of it like this,Jon Pertwee,Roger Delgado,Nicolas Courtney AND Elisabeth Sladen are all together again having their own adventures together up there somewhere.

Please do not be mad at me for saying this. Maybe she live on in other ways. If you know what I mean Elizabeth look at the shows she did and movies. Then there was other things. Because I know of site coke and popcorn. There you can watch her show on doctor who.I have not seen doctor who personally. So do not be angry at me. But I seen Elizabeth in Alice in wonderland. It was older one 1986. She did a good job doing what she did.Hopeful they are happy with what they accomplish in their life.If this sad you can always revisit there work they have done in the past. It not bad thing to revisit movies or even shows such as on coke and popcorn. I know I do when I can't find nothing to watch and bored with what they have now.
