This is not a dream.
This is a fragment.
of your subconscious
A moment A minute
A lifetime broadcasted into your mind
A Neverending NightmareThis is a world where everyone is happy. "I know that pain is the most important thing in the universe. Greater than survival, greater than love, greater even than the beauty it brings about. For without pain, there can be no pleasure. Without sadness, there can be no happiness. Without misery there can be no beauty. And without these, life is endless, hopeless, doomed and damned.
-- Paingod, Harlan Ellison
In the year 2530 AD, humanity has finally achieved world peace. Countries united to form large city-states, that are cooperating quite peacefully. War has not erupted in the past century. The entire world is rid of oppression, hatred, and with new agricultural techniques and technology, food and water are never limited. Tired of being in the city? There are amazing forests and deserts all preserved for you to explore. This is what humanity has striven for. To remind people of the past and how far society has risen, each year, a randomly selected number of individuals in each city-state is called together for an Evaluation. Together they are taken to a small enclosure where they will remain for weeks on end. Given a random weapon, their mission is simple: annihilate all other players. The winner is the last person standing. His or her city-state gets a large amount of money as a reward from the other city-states. Once they leave, they are not to speak of this to anyone. ://Disclaimer: As you can probably tell, this is a Battle Royale, 1984, Brave New World inspired roleplay. The idea of the Evaluation is credited to BR. ://Note: MitashiUchiha16 is co-modding/co-DM (whatever the word is) this with me as the exam proctor. ://This Roleplay has a beginning and an end and it has a plot. There will be chapters and stuff (because I like chapters). I have no idea where this story is going yet so it will be exciting to find out!

://History of the World
In the year 2205, the entire world broke out in war. It began quite simply really, just like every other war. Countries had made alliances and enemies, one country messed up and hurt another, and then everyone rushed in to help their allies. With the presence of advanced weaponry, the casualties were enormous. Nearly 3/4 of the world population was destroyed for a reason no one could remember any longer. After so many years of war, everyone was tired of it. For many civilians, they couldn't tell the difference between people from their own country and others anymore. They supported both friends and enemies as both had suffered tremendous losses. Through such times, all the chivalry and kindness of human nature shown through.
At the end of nearly fourteen years of combat,a representative from every country in the world met together and vowed to never let this happen again. They decided to pool their resources and help each other rebuild and recover. From these ashes, rose the Government. It was settled with little opposition that four city-states In the end, there were only four, joined under one counsel, under one sky.
Now, nearly three centuries have passed. The war had been forgotten. Without the memory, the government feared rebellion. They put together a team of scientists and built a machine that could allow a group of individuals to relive the war for themselves. They called it the Evaluation.

://The City-StatesThese are the approximate boundaries of each city-state just so you can have an idea of approximately where each one is located. The AmericasThere are two factions, North and South. Although they are considered to be one city-state, the two factions do little together. Because this is what they are known as historically, they have kept their old name. Celestial SkyModern day Europe, Russia, China, Korea, Japan form Eurasia. It named itself after the sky which is a symbol of unity to the people living here. Rising SunThis consists of modern day Africa and the Middle East. The Rising Sun is a symbol of a new beginning. NauticusThis consists of Indonesia, India, Australia and the other Islands around that area. They have a lot of coastline, hence their name. ://A note: This is entirely fictional. If any of these groupings or names are offensive to you, please tell me and I will change it. =================== Each city-state has a representative. The Government comprises of the four representatives. There is a spokesperson for the government who is their voice. He/She makes sure anything they want kept secret will be kept secret and pushes certain ideas into the media. Each city-state is also comprised of the many countries that had united before. However, the borders of these countries no longer have meaning. The countries all have a president. The cities that make up the country have mayors. Here is a chart of the government system
Cities (Mayors)->Countries (President)->City-State (Representative)
The four Representatives make up the world's government. There are also numerous counsel members, advisors who have relations with these people and may have some political power.

Other Details
These are just answers to Questions I have received and other things I feel are worth mentioning
- There is no living person who actually remembers for themselves what the World War was like. - This is in the future so things that seem futuristic to us may be outdated to them. - Although there is peace and everyone has clean water and food, people are still people. The world is not perfect, there are still countries that have thought of rebelling, etc. - The Government does keep a secret military/numerous secret agents to prevent the above point from happening. -The Government also hires smart civilians and good scientists to help them build and design things.

://The Virtual WorldThe evaluation takes place in a virtual reality setting very much like the real world we live in. However, the players do not know this. They arrive on Baker Island assuming that they are there to have dinner with the Representatives because of their outstanding talents or that they are being arrested or something. For some reason the government had paid attention to them and had personally brought them to this island. They may not be necessarily sure of the reason. They are then brought to a cottage where they are drugged and taken to the machines and strapped in against their knowledge. Here they will take on the evaluation. This is a map of the terrain. It is from an enchanted learning map reading exercise. Please ignore the scale. This square is larger than 0.25 square miles. Rules of the Evaluation 1) Players have infinite time 2) Sections are closed off randomly. Anyone who steps into a closed section will die. 3) Deaths will be announced. 4) No one is allowed to leave until there is one person left. Resources inside the enclosure are limited. :// You will feel things and feel hungry and thirsty while in the virtual world. The sensations are so similar that you will not be able to tell the difference between the virtual world and the real world.

://Rules
Most of this is pretty much the same as in every other Roleplay.
1) I am something synonymous to God in the roleplay. In other words, please discuss new ideas and things in general with me. I like talking to people and I promise I will not eat you. 2) Follow Gaia's ToS: No racism, sexism, ageism, etc... 3) No godmodding, cybering, etc. 4) Be literate (I feel like this one is redundant as we are in a literate roleplaying guild but I'm going to put it here anyway.) 5) If you are going to kill of a character in real life or in the evaluation, please discuss this with the person playing the character and me. 6) No fonts smaller than 9 or hard to read colours like yellow. 7) Make the posts pretty! cool PM me a profile!
This is my first time doing this. So if I do anything inappropriate or if you have an idea on how this game can be made better, do feel free to PM me about it! In fact, please do so!

://CharactersPretty much, you are free to play any character you can think of as long as it fits in with the current setting. So please no supernatural creatures or strange powers. Everyone must be human. You can be a cyborg if you can give a good enough reason such as "___ had been hit by a truck and lost function of half his body." Please keep the cyborgs reasonable and not make them have 50 guns in each limb. I am over-exaggerating but you know what I mean. Other than that, you can play anyone you think of. Here are some ideas 1) Person in the Evaluation. As it is not spoken about, they will be disoriented and confused when they first enter the virtual world. However, here their situation will be explained by a general. 2) Government Official. 3) Civilian who had previously been in the Evaluation. Such a person may be traumatized or may want to try to end the government or something... 4) Civilian who knows nothing about the evaluation 5) Leader of a country that wants to rebel 6) A secret agent 7) Anything else you can think of. If you choose to be someone in currently taking part in the Evaluation, I will use a random number generator to randomly select a weapon for you. Each weapon may only be possessed by one character. Skeleton Username: Character's Name: Sex and Gender: Age: Occupation: City-State of Origin: Personality: History: Anything Else:
Some people have asked what I mean by sex and gender. Sex is your biological sex and gender is which gender you identify as. This is only important if your character is transsexual or transgender. If your character is neither, you can just put male or female.

://Side CharactersNot recommended for characters outside the EvaluationHere is another skeleton. It is shorter and less descriptive so it could be used for characters that may die in the first day or something. Or if you are feeling too lazy to fill out the complete skeleton. You do not need to send this to me for approval. Just post it on the Side Character thread.
