my appointment for my first mri was on monday. as soon as it was my turn and im laying on the table and have the dye in my arm the machine stops working. we drove an hour to get my mri done and nothing
but the drugs, oh the drugs. i dont like needles or small spaces so they gave me some anti anxiety medication, oh my god i was so out of it. i didnt care about anything. its hard to explain, and my mind kept wandering off and i kept wanting to sleep. it was nice.
when they put the needle in my arm i was watching intently, my face was just a few inches away, then they dumped some saline solution in me.
i was so out of it that i couldnt stand up by myself. and since the machine broke ill be getting an mri next monday, same drugs too
yeah, it was my first time taking anything like that so i didnt know what to expect, and at the moment i just did not care

lol. That kinda reminds me of when I had to go into conscious sedation last year (twice). At first I was like "loldude I feel weird." "yep that's how it's supposed to feel." and they did the procedure and I was like "OW-oh. I'ss cool." The second time I was like... "I don't feel anything." "We'll give you more." Then they did the procedure and when they wheeled me back to my room I passed out from tiredness.

A tube in my nose to my stomach. It hurt too badly for me to get it done without conscious sedation. I had to get it done twice because I threw up and the tube came up so they had to take it out and put another one back in.

I remember when I got my wisdom teeth cut out. @W@
Oh God.
First i took some pills early in the morning to dry me up, then when I got to the doctor he stuck me with an IV. =o= Sucked. Then I got injected with Morphine.
Best trip ever.
I saw cats falling from the ceiling, and they were climbing up on the chair and then I felt like I was moving REALLY fast but I was just sitting there. And everything was all blurred out.
It was amazing.

Haha! That sounds like when my grandfather had to get stomach surgery. He was on morphine when we went to visit him at the hospital and he was talking about the airplanes and people that were running around on the walls.
I've never been hospitalized or had surgery or anything like that, so I don't have any fun stories of my own (unless you count the shrooms, it was just ONE TIME a really long time ago.) The most that's ever happened to me was when I was at the doctor's getting a pap done and she asked if I wanted to take an hiv test. I almost passed out when she drew the blood.

I was high on a "relaxation" drug for my wisdom teeth. The one hour operation felt like five minutes. I barely remember it happening at all. I do remember I kept touching my tongue cause I was amused that I couldn't feel it and the nurse kept telling me to stop cause I'd contaminate my mouth. I also took some pics of myself with my face all swollen but I don't remember taking them, so I sort of found them on my phone the next day. Ohhh, fun drug.

Gha i love it when I get drugged by doctors.

First time they tried to put it in the nurse REFUSED to sedate me. She lied and said they couldn't. She was doing it wrong & could not get it in, I just ended up hysterical and with a nose bleed. HORRIBLE crying . Another time I woke up from surgery w/ the NG tube. Not quite as terrible as the first time, but no one warned me I would have one and considering my bad experience w/ it the first time, it kinda freaked me out.

Ugh, I almost remember the days that "relaxation" drugs worked on me, LOL. Anesthesia hardly works anymore rofl When I had surgery on my foot, I remember they gave me something, I don't know what...and I was still sitting up on the table (I was sitting because they were also doing an epidural) talking to the anesthesiologist and I remember him laughing at me and telling me he had given me enough drugs to put HIM out...they would have to switch to a stronger drug because they couldn't give me more...they used "milk of amnesia" which is what they call Proprophanol (sp?) the stuff that killed Micheal Jackson.
Anyway, they disturbing side of that is that I have woken up so quickly after surgery that they were still pulling my trach tube TWICE now. And that is not pleasant. gonk

I didn't get them during the process of putting it in but the second time, after a few hours, my nose started bleeding and then it went on the long journey of bleeding every night around the same time for the remainder of my time in the hospital. Once was so bad I woke up and it just went everywheeere and I hit the callbutton and was all I NEED A NURSEE D: cause I didn't have a washrag in my bathroom and there was blood all over my face/neck/etc and I didn't want to get up and bleed all over. She was all 'Um I am a nurse' 'Well come here please >(' edit: I also got toilet paper stuck in my nose because of the bleeding. Also sucked.

I react really strongly to most medication. Even over the counter painkillers can have me loopy. And yet, the docs keep giving me really strong stuff. xd When I went to get my wisdom teeth out, they gave me a huge dose of morphine, I think. (Mine were impacted, so they ended up having to remove a chunk of my jawbone along with my teeth.) I was told, approximately 14 hours later when I came off my drug high, that I had a lovely conversation with the flowers on the dentist's office's wall. The office wall was white, with no decor. When they brought me home, I wouldn't go in my room because there was a penguin in my closet. A few months after that, I was prescribed an off-brand Vicodin type painkiller for my migraines. (I don't remember what it was called, but the paperwork said that it was basically Vicodin.) I was supposed to take it to interrupt my migraines when they got to the point of "I can no longer function." Apparently, the penguin returned to my closet, but now he has a machete and an army of nazi hamsters, with commander Hitler-hamster. I don't even know, I was told after the fact that I was babbling about it.
Sometime a few months ago, the doctor gave me this trio of medication that essentially puts me into a temporary coma. Hydrocodone is one of the pills. I'm usually out cold, dead to the world, for maybe 14-16 hours, followed by ten or so hours of complete and total loopiness. Not much hallucinating though, just the general feeling of "Nothing in the whole world matters and everything is sunshine and roses and paintball guns with blue-fill paintballs."
