Chapter 35: "The Spring Festival"
Solaris starred at the bundle of letters on his desk with a slight frown. It was a nice idea, a festival. It would help clear everyones heads of all this world ending nonsense and strengthen their ties with the new Guild of Seasons. Giving a half-smile, the Espeon picked the bundle up and went about having them delivered...
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
A letter arrives to your team room. Inside you find a thin slip of pink paper with entricate designs of leaves and flowers bordering it. The stationary smells like early morning dew and roses. Reading the delicate black writing reveals it to be an invitation!
 Dear [INSERT TEAM NAME HERE],
You are cordially invited to The Guild of Seasons 'Festival of Spring'. It is an honored tradition in our guild to celebrate the coming of each season and beckon on another glorious year! All teams of every guild are welcome to come! We've finished repairs of our own castle so there should be no need to worry over any accidents! We'll be having games and gift giveaways and of course a social for the members of all our guilds to meet and converse! We hope you'll join us and await your arrival!

Diane, Second-In-Command of the Guild of Seasons

Solaris---Moonfall---Ivy---Diane---Zachary---Genesis Solaris eyed the glowing portal before him with apprehension. The last time he'd stepped through one of these it had led to HELL. Then he'd been yelled at for the next month. Repeatedly. The Meleotta from the Guild of Seasons, however, smiled politely and waited for him to get over his shattered nerves. After a moment the Guildmaster heaved a sigh and stepped through, pausing only once to check the large sign next to the portal which read 'This way to the Guild of Seasons'. The Guild of Season's main hall was no longer wrecked as it had been before, the water that had dappled the floor was all gone and it seemed Diane had not lied when she said they'd have no problem fixing everything that had been damaged. Instead the hall was lit with many candles that flickered and danced, a few of these candles seemed to be blinking at him and Solaris gave a start when he realized they were Pokemon. Ah, that was vaguely creepy. The candles, the real ones, all nestled in bouqets of flowers that drapped over the room everywhere. A large Gracidea flower made the rooms centerpiece, nearly the size of a tree! The Espeon stepped forward where a familiar Purrloin, a bright blue flower tucked behind her right ear, wagged a tail in greeting. "Hello, Solaris! So glad you all decided to come!"She turned, sweeping her red-eyed gaze to her own guildmembers that chatted happily amongst themselves and then to his. "This will be a festival you won't soon forget! Make yourselves at home!" [Before we even begin, go ahead and roll for your recruit! That's right, you have the option of having the Pokemon available during the party so it can meet your team and you may interact with it for character development. However, to keep this recruit in the course of the Week as this is a Week Long chapter you must have posted at LEAST 6 times.]

xx xx Epitaph --- Saileithe --- Alice -- Ver --- TaciturnEpitaph sat at the portal's opening opposite Genesis, waiting for Sai and her group to catch up. She'd been talking to Ver about something or another, but Epitaph couldn't make out anything aside from the fact that it was Sai's voice. Taciturn was sitting on Alice's head as she caught view of the portal finally and teleported in front of it before running on in in a giggle.
"I do hope you behave. This isn't the time to be eyeing all the girls you see. Keep your eyes focused." Ver's attention trailed off as Sai lectured him. He was fine and focused... When he wanted to be. "Now, let's go then~ If you do anything wrong, I'll find reason to boot you from the team~" Sai sang upon walking into the portal with Ver behind her. He began to say something that was likely rude in response, but entering the portal cut it off entirely.["I just got pulled into this with 4 girls, what do you want from me?"] Epitaph rolled her eyes as she stood, bowing slightly to Genesis before walking in after them.
Upon entering, Sai and Alice stood off to the side of the portal, staring off at all the strange Pokemon. Honestly, they should have been used to it by now, but there were so many of them... Epitaph wandered by her daughter and off to Solaris while he spoke to the Purrlion. Ver began to wander forward before stopping, remembering something as he looked back at Sai. "Hey, where's Darius anyway? It doesn't seem like something he'd miss." Sai blinked as she looked back at Ver and shrugged. "Who knows. He's always vanishing and coming back when he feels like it. He won't care much anyway." "Sai, I'm going to stay with Alice..." Taciturn's shy, quiet voice made Sai's ears twitch, she merely nodded as her attention was still on Ver, and Alice took off into the crowd with Taciturn still on her head.

Neo & Max Neo and Max were on the Eclipse end of the portal. The Riolu was tugging at his Ralts partner, trying to drag his struggling form towards the portal,
"I don't get why you don't want to go." "'Cuz we won't know anybody!" We're a brand new team! What if they laugh at us?" "Then we show them we shouldn't be laughed at. This is how we meet new people Max." "Why can't they come here?"
With a groan, Neo gave one last tug at his partner's arm, successfully dragging Max into the portal alongside him. They emerge moments later at the Guild of Seasons.
"Listen, I heard some of the other Guild members talking about this place. They helped save this Guild right before we came here. There are Pokemon here that we've never seen before, that no one's ever seen before. So if you would stop your whining, maybe we can get one to join the team. C'mon, it'll be fun!"
That seemed to do the trick. Max continued to pout a bit as Neo dragged him by the arm along the huge, magnificantly decorated hall, but at least he wasn't vocalizing complaints anymore...
((Neo: Young master of the ulterior motive! smile ))

~Lynne
After it seemed Diane was done with introductions as more and more guests arrived, a job he was not cut out for himself with the whole interacting with others and all, the guildmaster titled Deerling cautiously approached his teammate, having finished up his task of last-minute decorations. An array of ivies now ever-growing and crawling the walls, cautious of the Litwick, now following him wherever he walked. "Hehe...You look girly." Yes, this was totally an insult of some sort when directed toward a female Purrloin he assumed, taking immediate note of the flower that adorned her head. The sheer amounts of flora accompanying this event was keeping the Deerling in high spirits for the moment even though it was likely he'd fall ill by the end of the shindig.

Mandarin & Azra & Luna & Suki & Kaiyou & Zori & SkyeA graceful, charcoal Leafeon slipped into the room, her golden markings shimmering under the flicker of the candles; both real and otherwise. With a gentle wave of her olive-coloured tail, a small figure emerged from behind her hind leg. Covered head to toe in fluffy, lavender fur, she, too, had strange, tribal markings. Hers were instead a gleaming silver, and her ruffs a pale lilac. Another shimmer of purple shone behind them, a massive, shiny Swampert emerging behind them with a pair of females sitting lazily on his shoulders. Luna seemed quite content, her legs crossed confidently as she looked around her. She was always surprised, the lengths that the guilds went to. Her markings were also distinctly tribal, but hers were from a very different source, than genetics. She had been poisoned, dying by the effects of a genetically altered venom, when she'd evolved. It had been the only explanation anyone had been able to come up with, for her unusual appearance. She seemed not to mind, either, for it certainly had done something to cure the blindness she'd suffered in her left eyes since birth. Suki, on the other shoulder, seemed much more uncomfortable, a blindfold tied tightly over her eyes. It was to hide the scarring, presumeably. Whether or not scarring existed was yet to be known, but the ghost was extremely paranoid about it, and had refused to remove the blindfold since the bandages across her eyes had been taken off. Azra skipped in, next, her fur as glossy and gleaming as that of Zori's. Her mother was not far behind, hand in hand with Raven. Locke seemed to drag along behind, though whether it was out of spite for being dragged to the party, or thoughtful silence, Azra didn't care to check, already searching over the heads of the gathering crowd for a very special pair. Either Cassie or Devlin would make her day, but if Eira was that, perhaps she could talk to her, as well. It didn't matter what her parents thought, because, tonight, they would be too busy spending time enjoying themselves to bother to keep tabs on their precious daughter. She would see Devlin tonight, if it took the whole party. A knowing glance from Zori made her smile. Auntie Zori; she never missed a beat, when it came to her niece and nephew. Luckily for them, she also didn't get in their way. She, at the very least, seemed to realize that Devlin wasn't evil. A flick of the Leafeon's ears, and the motherly Grass-type was ushering her toddler off to a nice, quiet place to watch the party from, looking positively estatic that Skye was finally old enough to join them. Suki and Luna each slipped from Kai's shoulders, and the the Marowak and Swampert headed off to join the celebtration, Suki hovering behind, looking uncomfortable. Azra was sympathetic, stretching to give the Mismagius a comforting part on the shoulder. "Don't be afraid; it's time to celebrate, not hide away." The preteen assured her, looking happy. The Mismasgius didn't answer, merging into the floor, and shifting upward to settle near Zori, her long-time partner. Azra could only heave a regretful sigh, and head off to join the party.

~Raven ~Locke ~Devlin
"I-I don't like this..." Raven whimpered as he fiddled with his wardrobe with his free paw; the other clearly occupied intertwined with his wife's hand. Still wearing his hat and signature jeans, the only addition to his appearance being a tuxedo vest, without a button-down shirt underneath to speak of, tucked into his bottoms. The addition to his attire itself was expertly crafted by his own hand, but it seemed his efforts and abilities were wasted as he didn't exactly have the fashion sense himself to properly utilize them. To top thing off a few buttons down the front were missing in place to make room for his chest-spike which protruded from the garment in a less awkward fashion than it would have tenting the fabric if he kept it buttoned. One would think he would have at least taken this factor into consideration when making the vest but no one ever deemed him with brains enough to come up with such a thing on his own either. Locke followed close in tow to his parents, naturally more towards his mother's side. As far as his attire went he refused to change out of his natural, tattered gown and his parents weren't about to put up with an argument directly before their departure. For the time being he was attempting to stay to himself and out of the bustle of the gathering. He doubted the fact that any of these people were actually worth his time.
Arriving separately was a lone Chimchar; the other counterpart of his team having the excuse of 'not being interested in formal affairs' to why she didn't show up for this event. Granted he wasn't one for gatherings like this himself but alternative motives led this pre-teen to the location he was at now in hopes of running into past acquaintances. As far as his appearance went, Devlin hadn't exactly put much time or thought into anything other than slicking the tuft of fur that adorned his head back. Totally suave~.

Pluto && NovaPluto wasn't fond of large social gatherings. Not only were they great places for diseases to jump from Pokemon to Pokemon (Nova hated to let him come, because the fifth generation Pokemon potentially carried new illnesseswith them) and the fact that the last large social gathering he had gone to he had been forced to wear a dress, he was also more busy than the next three people in the Kingdom combined. But some things have to be put aside, for creating strong bonds with the new guild would be important. And learning to learn the lore would be beneficial. New gods, legendary, things like that Audino's Grace...all could potentially be useful. Thus the old Leafeon, with his withered and dry-looking leaves -which have looked even less healthy over the past months, though due to natural passing of time or stress it's hard to tell- stepped through the portable, accompanied by Nova who would be keeping a constant eye on him. Pluto's entourage was surprisingly small, with his wife, Lia and Thanatos all seemingly absent. The ghost was no doubt invisible and nearby, however. Pluto had been given a description of the leader of the Guild of Seasons. The Leafeon had very quickly deduced that the technical leader -someone named Lynne- was not exactly all that useful, and that finding the one really in command -the feline named Diane- would be much more beneficial. Upon stepping into the hall, Pluto immediately saw the dark-blue Purrloin welcome Solaris and the guild, and stepped forward to offer his own greetings. "Well met." He rasped. "I am Pluto Eclipse, current leader of the Guild of the Sun. It is my hope that relations between our guilds will grow strong in the coming days." Melissa && Katara && RandelMelissa had come less because she wanted to and more out of a sense of duty. Her mind did not stay with her as she stepped through the portal, her mind still in turmoil. So quickly, so suddenly, she was the leader of a team. The leader of a Champion-ranked team. And she had barely been an explorer for a month or two. She hasn't even taken a real mission yet. But suddenly, Atra had announced that he was leaving. He appointed Mel as leader, Kat as co-captain, and left the morning after. And that very day an invitation was sent. Melissa had to show up. As leader of a champion ranked team, she didn't just represent Azalea, she would, in part, be representing the guild. "Aw, don't be nervous. Ya'll love it there. There's some real nice folks at the Guild 'o Seasons." Randel reassured her happily, more than eager to return to his home Island with the special status of 'I joined them non-fifthies!' Melissa forced a smile. "I know." It's not them I'm worried about. It's not even this party. I just don't think inheriting Atra's team like this is right. Chronicler && CrownTeam Polaris had planned a mission for the day, so when the invitation came up, there was some debate as to if they should go or not. "How about this then. Chronicler, Crown, go represent the team. Crescendo will stay in the Team room to provide support for any members that has to to be sent back during emergencies. Me, Morana, and Acer will take the mission." Everybody had agreed, so now the purple Cherrim and the orange-winged Butterfree made their way into the hall. Chronicler was frankly quite excited. An entire new generation of Pokemon! She had a notebook and a pencil case with her, and upon entering the hall she immediately began sketching and jotting down notes even as she moved off to talk with one of the new, strange Pokemon. Crown hovered above her friend, happy to simply just observe for now. Aiden && Rebecca && ChristopherThree unfamiliar figures stepped into the hall. The invitation said they would take all teams after all, and Team Trinity -as they were called- was a team, even if they've never really associated themselves with the guild that had signed up for convenience's sake. The most prominent of the three was a large, tall Blaziken. A large two-handed sword was strapped across her back, light armour covering her chest and shoulders. A small metal plate came down between her eyes. She held herself tall, straight, proud, a warrior clearly defined in her stance. Next to her on all fours was a Marshtomp. He sat calmly, looking all around himself as if studying the situation. He, like the Blaziken wore armour, though his was thicker, heavier. A morningstar -a spiked mace- hung from his back, though he did not look menacing. Perhaps not the most frienly approachable figure, but he looked kind enough. On the blaziken's other side was a small grovyle. The moment he came in his eyes quickly darted all around the room, to the possible escapes, obstacles, the shadows, the potential threats, but it all came by reflexively and he gave it little thought. He was on the balls of his feet, ready to move at a moment's notice though he was relaxed. A rough brown cloak was clasped around her neck, its hood down. A short sword was sheathed at his waist. His left arm ended in a stump, leather straps in place as if something was normally secured on. "I don't believe it. The rumours were true." The Marshtomp, Chris, told the other two, glancing around warily. "They look a bit weird don't they?" The Blaziken, Beka, commented, looking up idly at the Litwicks passing off as candles. "Less like real Pokemon and more like The Original One got bored if you ask me."The grovyle, Aiden, their leader, gave a kind smile to a passing pokemon that looked very much like a taller, more humanly proportioned Belossom. The Lilligant giggled and continued walking past, though a little faster. "Careful Beka, looks like you got come competition." Christopher teased, his mood lightening up. Beka just rolled her eyes and Aiden led them forward, towards the crowds. "Come friends, let's see if we can't swap some good stories."

Solaris---Moonfall---Ivy---Diane---Zachary---Genesis Diane turned, feline ears flattened to her head as another odd Pokemon from the mainland stepped forward. He didn't look too good to be honest. She worried that breathing to heavily near him would knock the guy over, but she ignored that thought and flashed a smile. "Hello to you as well, Guildmaster Pluto and I agree wholeheartedly.""You seem to have things here then Uncle." Solaris said suddenly, his gaze drifting across the room. "Thanks for the invitation once more, Diane. If you'll excuse me."The Espeon quickly padded off towards Epitaph with a slight wag to his tail. Diane watched him leave for a brief second until the sound of her name made her turn around once more. "Laura, I wasn't sure you'd show up. Ah, let me introduce....this is the Guildmaster of the Sun, Pluto. Sir, this is my sister. If I'm never around and you don't wish to deal with Lynne's nonsense then she's your next best bet."Even if they DID differ on many things. After all, they were twins only in name, everything else about them was a complete opposite, right down to coloring and even jewelry. The shiny Purrloin narrowed her eyes at her sister's necklace momentarily. She'd never liked it, it seemed so gaudy.

Era & Ethfael & Sereni & Riley "Come on everyone!" Era said cheerily, "We have a celebration to attend!" The Pikachu was prepared for an exciting event, having brought as many members of her Team as she could muster. Her fur was neatly groomed and Riley had provided her with a lovely rose to tuck behind her ear, insisting that it made her look spectacular. She had put her Volt Globe on an ornate silver chain that Ethfael had given to her earlier that evening as a surprise, and she looked rather lovely; a sparkle in her eyes completing the entire ensemble.
Ethfael sighed, he wouldn't have come if it weren't for Era, and the presence of so many of the new Fifth Generation who would be there. His own curiousity was enough to drive him to come, which combined with Era's prodding had brought him here, a bowtie at his neck and his Mirage Cloak noticeably present about his shoulders, unlike it's normal concealed state. He was silent, looking forward into the portal mutely, may as well get this over with.
Sereni looked a picture in a lovely translucent veil that was back over her antenna which was pulsing with a gentle light. The Mystic Water that Katara had given her hanging around her neck and reflecting the light beautifully. It had been awhile since the Lanturn had last been out on a Guild venture, but this was a festival, which was reason enough for her to go out and see the sights of the new Guild. Besides, it was a peaceful festival, what could happen?
Lastly stood Riley, the Eevee looking thoroughly dashing in a cape and top hat which he had informed Era was his magician costume. In effect, it worked just as well as a tuxedo might have for him, his Light Collar shimmering with tendrils of light at his neck. "I'm ready whenever you are," he said breezily, smiling at Era. "Shall we?"
Sereni stepped next to Era as Ethfael glared at the Eevee, "Yes, let's go," she said, "After you Era."
The Pikachu nodded and led her Team through the portal, excitement evident in her stride as they arrived at the Guild of the Seasons."Oh my..." Era said, looking about at all the splendor, it was incredible how lovely it looked, especially compared to what had happened with that Wailord Elite... No, she wouldn't think about such things; this was a celebration, not a battle against the Elite. Save worries of Darkrai and the end of the world for another time.
The rest of the Team had similar reactions upon entering the festival scene; thoroughly impressed by its splendor. There were beautiful flowers everywhere, the Gracedia flower at the center by far the most stunning. The candles added a lovely effect, shedding light about the room as well as any electric lights. The Pokemon who were candles attracted Ethfael's attention, and he examined them from afar with intrigue. The others gradually split up, heading to different parts of the room.
Era walked about the room, looking about at all the different Pokemon there. The gathering was so large that Pokemon who she rarely ever saw were about, all of them looking to festivities rather than battle. It was a refreshing change to see that so many Pokemon could be gathered together peacefully like this; sometimes it helped to be reminded after so much fighting.
Sereni made her way around the edges, nodding pleasantly to any Pokemon who came her way. She was pleased to find the atmosphere very welcoming, and fit herself in easily. Festivals were a favorite past time of hers although they were far too rare for her preference. She paused for a moment to admire the decorations and looked about for someone to talk to. After all, one was to be social at a party, were they not?
Riley made his way toward the centerpiece, looking at the Gracedia appreciatively. He spotted another Eevee nearby and tapped her lightly on the shoulder, smiling slightly at the awestruck expression on her face. "It's a lovely flower isn't it?" he said with a smile, "Of course, I can't replicate something like that, but how's this?" He held up his paw to reveal a tiger lily that was orange with brown stripes, nudging it towards her. "It's a festival of spring, so the more flowers the better, right?"

Neo & Max Neo spotted Riley, and tugged Max over to say hi. "Riley! Wait up! Hi! Howsagoin'? Is that your team over there that you came in with? Whoa, so cool. All the older teams look so much...more explorer-y than we do. Do ya think we'll ever be super explorer-y?"
It was clear the Riolu was excited. He was full of questions. And he was talking a lot. He always did when he was excited. Max on the other hand was still uncomfortably out of his element.
He was just getting used to their Guild. Why did they have to visit another one?

 - Gypsy - - Zephyr - "Whee~! Aren't you glad we came?" Gypsy spun around as she examined the surroundings. "Too bad Echo couldn't have come." She commented, feeling slightly saddened by the moment. "Oh wellz~! We'll have fun and bring her home a cake?"
Zephyr raised an eyebrow... thing. "And how do you suppose we do that?" He crossed his arms and waited for an answer. I mean, it was sort of good that Echo didn't come. She was always a downer for everything they did. Why couldn't she just be friendly and socialize for once, instead of refusing to follow the normal way society works and remaining silent!?
Gypsy frowned. "Let's just take all the desserts we can right before we leave!" She giggled flicking her tails back and forth in her ready-to-pounce position. Just then she spied a bunch of Eevee all together. She stuck her tongue out to prove to Zephyr that she was the better mingle-er and bounded over to the Eevee gathering. "Hey guys, heyyyy! Ooh! A flower! Can I smell it?! Mmm, it's nice. Must be a Gracedia. I didn't know you could get those around here! Can you get me one too?" She bombarded the Eevee with questions, and it seemed like another Eevee was too.

Neo & Max Suddenly a Vulpix had joined the conversation. Neo, still a raging ball of hyperactive disfocus, went to work introducing himself.
"Hi! My name's Neo. This is Max. We're from Team Zenith!" The Ralts gave an uncomfortable wave. "What's your name?"
Another weird-looking Pokemon. This Guild seemed to attract a lot of those. His dad always said it was the Aura of the Pokemon that defined it though, not the looks.
He had a feeling he was going to have to keep that in mind from now on.
