It was raining again, why did England have to be so darn rainy? Dorian thought moodily as he wandered the halls after dinner. As he had already finished all his homework earlier he had nothing to do until the night bell tolled and that was still at least two hours off.
Dorian was a bit miserable, he had been the good student lately and it was starting to annoy him. He had been more adventurous back when he had been in New Orleans in grade school, being this tame was starting to bore him to death. It was time to let loose and do something foolish and crazy. He suddenly stopped walking, pulled his head back and yelled as loudly as he could. "AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGH! I can't take this anymore! I need to do something out of the ordinary!" He yelled clenching his fists.
A rather wild look came into his gray green eyes as he surveyed the empty hall and was rather annoyed that there was no change. Great, just great. He had to pick a hall that was deserted. He almost wanted to pick a fight he was so bored. Which was something that Dorian normally avoided. He just needed something that would get his blood boiling and moving around. All this sluggish school work and sitting and the rainy days were starting to get on his nerves.

It probably would have been in everyone's best interest if Quill ignored the loud, exasperated scream coming from the opposite end of the hallway. However, he was captivated by it. So of course, he stayed where he was sitting down in the hallway, blocked by a suit of armor. The reason he was sitting there on that rainy day? No apparent reason. Perhaps it was because of everyone else zooming past him, all energetic and such. At this moment, Quill was just plain lethargic. And when he got like that, the Slytherin part of him started slipping more and more out--basically, he was a cranky baby.
So when someone screamed, waking him out of the half-sleep he had attempted so desperately to achieve, Quill's eyes shot open, revealing the red veins. The previous nights he hadn't gotten much sleep. Thus, Quill waited patiently, uncaring about who was the perpetrator. He would get them, get them good for ruining his sleep. Why in the world had he picked such a deserted hallway otherwise?! And then, Quillan continued to wait... The footsteps grew increasingly louder with each passing second and it wasn't long till Quillan could see the person's shadow. But of course, because of the armor, they couldn't see him.
Grinning like a devil, Quill shot out his legs and pretended to stretch out, yawning as he did. Trip, fiend. That's what you get for ruining my sleep...

One moment Dorian was angrily stomping down the hallway and the next he was flat on his face. For a moment he laid there stunned not sure how it had happened. Then he turned his head and caught site of the brightest red head he had ever seen in his life smirking at him from behind the suit of armor.
Dorian just stared, his anger spiking inside and let loose a string of french curses at him as he struggled to his feet. Finally when the french ran out, and his breath started coming back did Dorian snap at him in english. "What is your problem? Why would you go around tripping people? I could have broken my nose or worse!"
His voice was hard as steel and ice cold as he spoke; and his tell tale eyebrow twitch had started in his left eyebrow.

"OUCH!" Quill exclaimed, jumping up from his sitting position. Of course, tripping the boy hadn't actually hurt much but... "Shouldn't you watch where you're going?" Quill inquired, his voice was smooth and unflinching. It was a quick transformation from the bumbling-idiot he portrayed earlier. "Better yet..." Quillan's face was stale, "Shouldn't you try not to jump to conclusions? I happened to be stretching; I don't see the point of tripping you," Quill explained, coolly with a level head.
Both sides seemed to be unyielding in this battle. In fact, both were Slytherins, something Quill noticed once the boy had stood up again. Even though Quill knew right away he was incorrect, the boy's reaction just fueled his discontent. At that moment, he'd rather stab himself in the eye than apologize to that fool. For all that boy knew, it could have been an accident (which it wasn't)! Surely, a calmer reaction was more suitable than him practically blowing his cap off.
After glaring at his face for a while, Quill noticed something peculiar. The anger dissipated from his body and he just looked at the boy, inquisitively. "Why... is your eyebrow twitching?"

Dorian's face didn't change an iota though his mind started whirling in thought. What reason did he have for yelling at the other boy? he had jumped to conclusions when he had fallen. He hadn't seen the other hiding behind the suit of armor so it was rather practical that there hadn't been any ill intent behind the other's act of stretching out. Then again, why was the bright haired boy hiding behind the armor? What had he been up to?
"Why were you hiding behind the armor?" Dorian asked point blank, not yet ready for saying any apologies. He normally didn't have a suspicious nature, but there was something about the others strangely calm manner that tugged at it.
"Oh that? It's a quirk, it' twitches like that when I get mad or really irritated." he acknowledged before even thinking.
His eyebrow throbbed and twitched incessantly so much that Dorian slapped his face in an attempt to get it to stop. It stopped for a few seconds and then began twitching even more insistently.
"Ugh, now it'll be doing that for at least another hour," he said with a loud sigh of annoyance. "You'd better not tell anyone in our House about it; they'll love teasing me and riling me up to see it. A lot of times I'll get raging headaches because of it. It's not a very pleasant thing to go through."

Quillan answered Dorian's question with ease. "I wasn't hiding, I was sleeping." It wasn't a lie, in fact, it was the straightest answer Quill had given the other Slytherin. Swerving a bit, he turned and pointed to his robe, it was bunched up on the floor. "That's my pillow," Once again, it was the truth that came out of his lips. He had indeed been trying to sleep, his head resting on his cloak.
When Quill heard the answer to his own question, he couldn't help but be extremely entertained. "Oh, really now?" A smirk played on his face as Dorian elaborated on his anger-twitch. "Ah... that sounds bothersome," Quill commented, pondering about Dorian's twitch. He was fully captivated by the boy's eyebrow. "Was it always like that?" Quill inquired, picking up his cloak from the floor and tucking it underneath his arm.
At the moment, he seemed to be at an advantage over this boy. It was a cruel thing of him to do, and since the crankiness from earlier had quickly disappeared after waking fully, he felt a pang of guilt inside him. "Sorry for tripping you," even though Quill apologized, he in no way pledged guilty do the deed. What he said could be taken either way. "I'm Quillan, by the way... I've seen you in the Slytherin Common house, I believe."

Dorian blinked a bit surprised at the other's response. "Why would you sleep on the stone floor when you could be in a bed?" He asked thinking this boy was rather unusual. Then again..from what he had heard of him the rest of the Slytherin House thought he was crazy perhaps insane from the way he acted. "Oh so I see." Dorian replied blinking and trying to not let his twitching eyebrow get on his nerves.
"Yeah it is, once it starts it's hard to stop." Dorian saw the smirk on his face and and could see that the other was eying him a bit too closely. Was this boy plotting something? He really wasn't sure if he wanted to know. "From as far back as I can remember. My Pepe said it's a family tick on his side; my father was lucky not to inherit it."
Dorian wasn't sure he should have even said anything about his twitch to the other boy as he wasn't sure if he could trust him with it or not. He didn't like his secret being known by some stranger and having to trust that he wouldn't say anything.
"It's okay, it was an accident," Dorian said waving off the apology some of his anger ebbing away. "Nice to meet you, I recall hearing a few things about you and seeing you about. I'm Dorian Devereux." He told the other offering his hand.

"Why, isn't sleeping in a bed a wee bit too obvious?" Quill inquired, his eyebrow raised at the other boy. Obviously, this kid was no rule breaker. Every class-skipper knew that the first place the teachers check was the House's Common Room. With a sigh, he knew that this kid was going to be boringly straight-laced. The only fun he could foresee with Dorian was if he poked and prodded at the poor kid until he blew his cap--which didn't seem to have that tight of a cap in the first place. How sad...
No matter, Quill accepted Dorian's outstretched hand and firmly shook it up and down. "So what are you doing in the halls, isn't class still in session?" Quill questioned, having lost track of time as he dozed off.

"Well I suppose," Dorian replied a bit taken aback by Quill's sarcastic tone. "though normally people don't sleep at this time of day. They're usually working on homework."
Dorian held back a laugh at the last question. Obviously the kid had skipped class, dozed off and lost track of time. He should have some sort of watch or something on him. Then again..watches seemed to break and stop after a few days in the school. Something that rather bugged him.
"Class has been out for hours. It's free time now. I guess you lost track of time. There's about two hours left before the night bell." Dorian informed him.
"I don't you got any dinner if you've been up here the entire afternoon," He said casting a glance at him. "Perhaps you'd want to do some exploring with me after you get some food?"

"Ahh... really now." Quill replied, preoccupied as he thought about the class he missed. What was it? He frowned... Oh yeah... that's why I skipped, he realized. Having left his schedule in the Common Room, Quillan had little motivation to inquire about his last class to his Slytherin classmates. He had been planning on following one of them to class, but had gotten easily preoccupied by a ferret dashing down the halls. Of course, Quill had to follow the creature... which thus led him to this deserted hallway. It seemed to be fate now, that Dorian would stumble upon him and lead him out of the labyrinth (because, after losing the ferret, Quill looked around to realize he was lost).
Thus, Quillan had a new found enthusiasm about the boy. "That would be excellent!" He exclaimed, throwing his arm around Dorian's shoulder. "Now that you mention it, I am getting hungry--a good sleep does that to you, y'know?"
Until Quill recognized his location, he allowed Dorian to lead him through th school. "You know what sounds good right now?" He inquired to the other Slytherin boy, "a cucumber." Thus, Quill began his search of the vegetable, keeping an eye on Dorian's location in the Main Hall as he did.

"Well the more serious ones I suppose." Dorian offered with a shrug. "I'm done being serious, I want to do something crazy for a change." He told Quill.
He had heard enough about the strange orange haired kid to know that some of the things he did were downright weird, and figured if anyone could keep him from being serious it would be Quill. Dorian knew that it was more than likely that Quill would lead him further astray than he probably meant to, but if it was all in fun what did it really matter? Running rampant with Quill would be an interesting adventure.
Dorian staggered a little when Quill threw his arm around his shoulder, he hadn't expected the other do do that. "Great, I can't wait." Dorian replied with a small smile. "I can imagine. Lots of sleep can make you hungry pretty fast."
Dorian had no idea that Quill didn't know where he was and figured that he did. If he had realized that Quill was letting him lead he might have gotten a bit freaked out. He still hadn't learned his way around the school and was often getting lost in the back halls.
He was rather relieved when they fond the Great Hall, and wandered over to the Slytherin table where there was still a lot of food laid out. It was rather nice, he thought, that the school made sure to have food left out for stragglers and for those who got peckish after meals. Dorian grabbed a sweet roll off of a nearby table and sat down to nibble at it as Quill went in search of a cucumber.
"You'd think he'd be more hungry and need more than a cucumber," he mused as he slowly finished off the sweet roll. Once that was gone, he grabbed a handful of nuts and started in on them.

As Quillan was on the search for a cucumber, his eyes wandered over to the Gryffindor table and immediately narrowed. His attention was now locked on a couple, they were both giggling and glancing over at the Syltherin table where Dorian was eating. What's so funny? In that moment, the Gryffindor boy noticed Quill's stare and nudged his girlfriend to advert her gaze. I suppose sweet rolls are funny, Quillan commented to himself, having followed their gaze to Dorian's back.
After hesitating quite a long time, Quillan turned his back on the couple to scavenge for a cucumber. But as soon as he did, he heard the giggles again. With a deep scowl on his face, Quillan attempted to look preoccupied as he listened into the Gryffindors' conversation.
"Do you remember Sebastien Devereux?" He heard the boy inquire. There was something that sounded like a muffled giggle, and then the boy continued, "My dad saw him with a prostitute once. Slytherin to the boot, I'd say... His wife's in the hospital and he's fooling around." Where was your dad to see that? Quillan had to stop himself from retorting. Suddenly, he noticed a cucumber in one of the baskets. "But anyway, that kid... He's none the better--I heard he was sneaking around late at night, with a girl, none the less,"
Kudos to you, Dorian, if that's true... Quillan mused, picking up the cucumber, carefully weighing in his hand, slipping his hand into his pocket for his wand. "Mobiliarbus..." He mumbled under his breath. Not even a twitch. Have to do it the hard way....! Heaving a large sigh, Quillan twirled on his heels, using his momentum to fling the cucumber in the direct of the boy Gryffindor.
His feet were moving long before he even heard a thunk, but only then did he turn back to see the cucumber had missed. "Blasted!" He mumbled, slowing his pace to look casual. The Gryffindors, however, weren't fooled. He could see the boy, about a foot taller than him, strutting over with his shoulders. They know! Well... no use hiding it now! Without looking, Quillan reached down to the Slytherin table and picked up something a bit slimey. Without even glancing to see what it was, he chucked the chicken wing straight at the Gryffindor's girlfriend's face.
"Booya!" Quillan exclaimed, doing a quick fist-pump before he quickened his pace to a run, picking up a loaf of bread and slipping it into his pocket.
Quillan's victory was short lived, though. "Mobiliarbus!" He heard the Gryffindor boy yell. Just as he turned to see what was coming his way, he was temporarily blinded by pudding smacking onto his face. Ahhh!

If Dorian had been paying better attention he probably would have heard the slanderous ugly things the two Gryffindors were going on about. And if he had heard, his mood would have shifted and he would have probably unleashed every spell he knew on the two. Though it wouldn't have been likely to have done any good, as the spells Dorian knew were mainly hexes for bringing out pimples, causing someone to trip, and a sort of bad luck charm.
Since he was unaware of what was being said about him and his father he was rather stunned when he heard a wet "splat" sound and turned around to see chicken wing fall from the Gryffindor girl's face and Quill yell "Booya!" Dorian stood up, his face a mask of annoyance and frustration. "What are you doing?" He demanded of Quill his fists clenched in annoyance. "Do you want to get our House in Trouble? We can't afford to lose anymore points!"
And that's when the Gryffindor boy used a spell to launch a pudding into Quill's face. What the heck was going on? Dorian wasn't sure if he should side with his new acquaintance or go run for cover. His mind was made up when the girl suddenly launched something hard at his head. Dorian ducked and the ham hit the wall behind him.
"All right, this means war!" Dorian found himself yelling his face going pure red. He grabbed for the sweet rolls and began to pelt the boy and girl in the head with them. When those ran out, and the fight became even more heated; Dorian made a grab for a bowl of fruit and began lobbing the apples, oranges and pears at the two Gryffindors.
To hell with losing points, if it was a fight they wanted; it was a fight they were going to get!

When Quill had wiped away the pudding from his eyes, the viscous food slapping at the ground from his fingers, he saw something absolutely brilliant. 'Ol stiff-boy Dorian had joined in the fun! "Aw, hell yeah!--oops! That's a naughty word, isn't it!" With the biggest grin on his face, Quill swooped down and grabbed a glass of punch, not even bothering to worry about the glass shards as he threw it at the Gryffindors. The boy, of course, managed to dodge. The girl, however, got heavily drenched in punch. "Pahahaha!" If he had time, Quillan would've been rolling on the ground laughing, but he didn't--another round was coming their way!
After getting skimmed by a flying dish of pasta, Quillan glanced over to see how his brother-in-arms was doing. What he noticed made his day. "Hey Dorian! Your eyebrow isn't twitching!!!" Just as he spoke, a spoon smacked him in the cheek. "HEY! That's dangerous! What if it hit my eye, you worms!" The Gryffindors didn't seem to care, for another spoon came flying at him. Well... as long as it's not forks...
But then, they both suddenly remembered that they were fourth year wizards. "Flipendo!" The boy yelled. Suddenly, Quillan slammed into the back wall. Whoa... For a good few moments, he couldn't see straight--nor could he speak. The air had been completely knocked out of him. Ah... "Leviosa!" And suddenly, he didn't feel the ground or the wall. When Quill's vision came back to him, he was a good five feet in the air. Jerks! Using those kinds of spells on first years! Sure, Quill learned Leviosa too, but that didn't stop him from being outraged at the Gryffindor's use. This was supposed to be a clean food-fight!
Furious, Quill whipped out his wand. "Expelliarmus!" Quill shouted where he levitated in the arm.
...
Nothing happened. Pissed beyond belief, Quillan thought of an easy solution. He chucked his wand as hard as he possibly could at the boy's face. When the boy went to dodge, his concentration was broken and Quillan fell, then crumpled on the ground with a smack. BAM! OW! Pain radiated from his ankles all the way up to his head. "We gotta get out of here, Dorian!" Quillan announced through his daze, stumbling to get up. I need my wandd.... Crap...

Dorian barely even heard anything that Quill was saying, though from the look on the Gryffindor students' faces he knew that it was something that had annoyed them. He winced when Quill threw the glass at the two students, what the hell was he thinking? He could hurt someone badly that way!
Dorian hadn't even noticed that his eyebrow wasn't twitching, and when Quill pointed it he felt it start to twitch. "Quillan you idiot! I told you not to say anything!" He bellowed, his anger getting the better of him.
Dorian felt something metal bean him in the side of the head, which only caused him to get angrier and more pissed off. He looked down to see that someone had thrown a butter knife at him. What the hell were these Gryffindors' thinking? Did they want to bodily harm them? "Yeah! What the heck are you thinking?" Dorian yelled, dodging another flung knife. "My grandmere will flail you alive if you don't stop!"
And then things got even worse when the boy used a spell to slam Quill into a wall forcefully. Merde! he swore, his eyes growing wide as saucers. His eyes flittered to the girl who was still trying to clean the punch off of her blouse and face and then he dove for cover. He was huddled behind one of the tables, his knees banging with fright and anger.
He knew hiding wasn't going to help Quill but he had no idea what to do to help his friend. He didn't know any spells that would stop what was going on. He suddenly jerked to attention when he saw a tapping foot next to his own. Dorian gulped and looked up his eyes going wide.
"Hiding, figures. Slytherines are all little cowards." The girl sneered down at him.
Dorian, clenched his wand tightly and stood up so quickly that the girl nearly fell back in alarm. Dorian let loose a spell his Grandmere had taught him yelling it at her in French. The girl's face looked rather horror stricken because she didn't have a clue to what he had just done.
"If you go look in a mirror you'll see what's happened." He growled with a triumphic glare as her face began to break out in a collection of warts and pimples.
The girl frowned and reached up to touch her face. She let out a shriek of disbelief at what she felt and fled to see the damage that had been done to her face. Dorian laughed, and then looked around to see what was going on with Quill and the Gryffindor boy and was amazed to see the boy had crumpled to the ground.
Dorian could see that Quill had been hurt by his fall, and stopped to pick up the lost wand and go to Quill. "Well, that could have been worse" he said, grabbing Quill's arm and helped steer him from the room.
