For the Protection of Earth: Mini-Contest! Starts: NOW! Ends: 6am EDT on Tuesday, March 29th. If you're not sure what that is in your timezone, this handy converter can help! This character might look slightly familiar and that's because he is! This was intended to be a cavalier once upon a time. Unfortunately, the cavalier faction was discontinued after the old staff stepped down. But don't worry, as there's a bright side to all this: his to-be player, Orestae, offered him up to be rehomed as a member of the Knight class! His uniform just so happens to fall into the Earth Knight theme, so we agreed it would be a good idea to put this art to use. This is a mini-concept contest, which means we don't want the full form that you would normally have to fill out. We just want a rough idea of what you're doing, as well as detailed portions of the form below -- so don't worry about being too polished, just give us an idea of what you think this guy is like / what you'd have fun playing. Refining the concept will come with the stamping process, if you win. If you need some guidance on how to build a Knight, this thread has some information for you! Be sure to check out the other stickies in the Application Quests subforum for some more character-building tips if you're new to the shop.

Character Presets This character is a Knight of Earth. Beyond this, however, there are no naming restrictions besides the ones for any other character concept (please do not try and name him Heaven Knight, Hell Knight or Elysium Knight). His weapon as a Page is a ceremonial rapier fashioned from gold -- it's therefore a lot less dangerous than it looks, and can't cut through anything. While his first stage is unique, this character will grow onto a template by one of our staff artists. Rules and Guidelines While there are no restrictions on entering, we would like to see prospective players who have less than three powered characters. Please do not post anything other than entries in this thread. If you have any questions you can ask in the main thread or poke someone on staff. If you win, you must write a full profile in the application subforum and recieve a stamp before you can play. Entry FormUse the form below to fill out and submit your entry! Simple, right? How many POWERED characters do you own?
Name: What he goes by as a civilian. Age: School / Occupation:
Personality Blurb: A small few paragraphs on the personality of this guy. Who is he? Please try to keep it brief but informative: you don't need to list out virtues and flaws at this stage, but we'd like a general idea of his personality strengths and weaknesses, as well as what he might be interested in.
Knight Name: The name of the powered form ex: Milky Way Knight Name Origin: Link where you found this name so we can prove it exists!
Weapon Progression: Page - (PRESET)
Squire - You can add some channeled magic at this stage. However, if you want to upgrade the rapier to a real blade, then he should not have very much magic power at all, if any. If you REALLY want him to have a real sword, it might be a better idea to wait until Knight stage.
Knight - Add another effect, or give a power boost to his Squire magic. The same rules still apply if you want a legitimate bladed weapon: you'd be trading a lot of magic power in exchange for it. IF YOU'RE NOT SURE WHAT TO DO FOR STAGE 3, you can leave this part blank / say you'd rather wait and see if you win him / etc.

How many POWERED characters do you own? Two! Soldier Leo and Super Sailor Magellan. Name: Landon Baines Age: 19 School / Occupation: Sovereign Heights Preparatory Personality Blurb: The first thing you need to know about Landon Baines is that he believes he is destined for greatness. Whether or not he actually is has yet to be seen, but his personal conviction follows along the lines that he is going to be somebody someday and no one can convince him otherwise. He doesn't have any exceptional talents, creativity wise; he can't play any instruments and he can string together a short story to pass a class but that's about it. Poetry? Over his head. Singing? In the shower and to the steering wheel, sure, but get him on a stage for karaoke and suddenly you're glad the sound system drowns him out for the most part. Math isn't his strong suit, either, and if it weren't for his one saving grace, he probably wouldn't have made it into Sovereign Heights at all. Through extensive networking, information gathering and social connections, Landon always seems to know who to ask to help him with his homework, and who to go to in order to get on the right track for finding out exactly what he needs to know. While seen by his peers as the endlessly irritating, all-around nosey busybody, his curiosity and tenacity for following through until he actually gets what he wants (whether that takes him hours or days) earned him a place in Journalism and Yearbook in high school. It also opened the door for the one career path that he feels was tailor-made for him: journalism. Landon is going to reach the world through the media, and he is absolutely determined to be the dashing, irresistable reporter who sinks his teeth into the stories that the big wigs don't want aired and brings light to the dark underbelly of the political realms. Or something. Landon just knows that he has a knack for badgering the wrong people until he finds the right people, and then finessing the details that he needs out of them, so to pursue anything but journalism would be absolutely ludicrous to him. Thanks to his single-minded drive and intensity, however, he has... very few friends. People don't tend to take overly kindly to being used as "inside sources" at a moment's notice, nor do they like feeling exploited for their knowledge. Landon is the type of guy who will probably forget you exist if you don't have anything useful to offer him, and when he comes back around to talk to you again, he expects to pick up exactly where you left off. No hard feelings, right -- it was all in the pursuit of the greater good! Informing the masses! Personal glory -- you can't tell him nobody else is looking out for number one. He's a good friend to have as long as you're walking the straight and narrow and you're in the know, but he'll sell you out in an instant if it would A) be a good story or B) help him climb the ladder toward Landon Baines, world-renowned journalist. Knight Name: Mag Mell Knight Name Origin: Mag MellWeapon Progression:Page - (PRESET) Squire - His weapon has progessed to a ceremonial mace -- still not all that effective physically, but a little better to clock people upside the head if he absolutely has to. His magical power lies in his ability to slow a target; he'll swing his mace in their direction, but rather than hitting them (which would cancel out the intended attack, as the magic must be "cast" from the mace) he will send a wave of magic toward them. When it impacts, it will slow the target and any magical attacks they may have cast. How much it is slowed depends on the amount of energy expelled; he will not be able to completely stop anyone, but he can slow them to a considerable degree if he puts a lot of energy into it. That just leaves him pretty drained, himself. Also, if an ally of his jumps in the way of his attack, friendly fire comes into play, so he not only has to be careful on his aim but also his timing. Knight - His weapon has progressed to a ceremonial halberd. Again, he can bean people if he must, but that negates his magical attacks, which are really the star attraction here. He'll swing his halberd in an arc toward an opponent, and when the cast magic impact them, it will reduce their strength greatly. Again, he will never be able to make an enemy's attacks completely harmless, but depending on the amount of energy expended, he can greatly reduce their impact -- be they physical blows or the magic cast. It's an overall strength reduction, though it is important to mention that, once again, this can have friendly fire, so he can't go swinging his halberd willy nilly.

How many POWERED characters do you own? One: Sailor Requiem. Name: Derek Newman, M.D. Age: 28 School / Occupation: Unemployed, occasional short-lasting jobs. Volunteers as an underground surgeon. Personality Blurb:Derek was a compassionate, intelligent, and gifted surgical resident at Destiny City Memorial Hospital with a promising future. However, after a series of life misfortunes, he lost everything as alcoholism entered and took over his life. He was fired and removed from the residency program for dangerously drinking on the job in a high-stakes field, and has since found himself on a downward spiral. After he was fired, he lost the drive and motivation to fix his life. He has become accustomed to his lazy lifestyle, taking a few odd jobs to pay the bills when he runs low on cash, but nothing ever lasts for very long. He has not lost his passion for the medical field, and still reads up on the latest discoveries. But most importantly: he still practices medicine, albeit illegally, working at red-light district underground clinics to aide the surge of wounded teenagers that come in every night. His work is not his best - it is nothing compared to his once-sober days with a clean facility and proper equipment - but it gets the job done and he gets a chance to save a life. When he isn't out illegally saving maimed teenagers, he spends much of his time at his apartment, drinking, watching sappy romance and drama movies on the Lifetime channel, crying about them, crying about his life, and reading novelizations of these Lifetime movies (and crying to them, too). He leads a very lonely life. Occasionally, this bothers him and he finds a motivation to go out and meet new people, usually at a bar, where he only gets excessively drunk before stumbling on home (often alone). Most of his friends had given up on trying to help him, and he had given up on himself, not finding anything to live for. As a Knight, due to his once-taken Hippocratic Oath and a 'do no harm' mentality, he would feel very conflicted about whether or not to save his enemies. Knight Name: Kos Name Origin: Kos (Hippocrates, "the Father of Medicine" studied there and formed a medical school) Weapon Progression: Page - (PRESET) Squire The rapier now possesses some channeled magic with the ability to heal. Squire Kos can touch an injured ally with the point of the sword and channel energy to heal the ally, at the expense of tiring himself out. The longer he touches the ally with the blade, the more healed they become and the more tired he gets. At the Squire stage, his ability to heal is not supremely effective as he tires very quickly. He can heal scrapes, bruises, and shallow cuts. As for internal injuries, while he can repair them, he will likely run out energy and faint before finishing, and the ally will likely be left with exterior wounds. Knight - The rapier has evolved into a small sword (a weapon modeled after rapiers) and still possesses channeled magic with the ability to heal. As in the previous stage, Knight Kos can touch an injured ally with the point of the sword and channel energy to heal the ally, at the expense of tiring himself out. The longer he touches the ally with the blade, the more healed they become and the more tired he gets. At the Knight stage, his ability to heal is more effective and he doesn't tire quite as quickly. He can heal scrapes, bruises, cuts, As for internal injuries, he can repair minor internal injuries and be exhausted, but severe internal injuries would cause him to faint before fully healing his ally.

How many POWERED characters do you own? I own no characters at all. C:
Name: Frederick St. James (aka Fritz). Age: 19. School / Occupation: Graduated from Azure Valley Academy. Now works as a website designer/coder.
Personality Blurb: Fritz has a habit of writing stories. And not just any stories; highly exaggerated, obnoxious, totally ridiculous stories...about anything and everything. His twin draws an online comic, and Fritz provides online stories - or rather, fanfiction, as he calls it. Or "A Day in the Life of Frederick St. James" where the truth is stretched so thin you can't even see it. Oh, and he also likes to write romance novels. Not dirty romance novels, but just regular ole' romance novels (though he hides this fact; says it helps him with his fanfiction if ever asked). Fritz and his twin run a website for their stories; Fritz is the programmer - he is vwey talented when it comes to all things website-y and coding. And maybe it's from all those romances he's written, but Fritz is surprisingly gentlemanlike - in person, that is (whether or not he's gentlemanlike in his writing is a whole 'nother story). He's the type that will open doors for you, help you across the street, carry your bags for you. Even if he doesn't know you, Fritz will be the first to take that heavy box from your arms.
Once he starts something, Fritz is absolutely determined to finish it one way or another, whether it's reading a book, making someone feel good about themselves, or even just coming up with another yo-yo trick. He is a dedicated person who will be loyal and determined to whatever it is that he believes in, regardless of whether or not it's small, medium, large, or anything in between.
Sadly, however, Fritz sucks at communicating, especially when he's in a relationship, whether it's romantic or otherwise. He has a habit of not paying the slightest bit of attention when people are talking, or doing something else. One of his biggest issues is that he just doesn't tell people things. When he's mad, upset, frustrated, or sad, he tends to close up and refuse to talk to anyone, even get irritated or mad when people try to talk to him. He doesn't like showing his emotions, and that means keeping everything selfishly to himself. And, along with his apparent inability to communicate properly, Fritz has this thing where he just assumes people know things - that they know what he's talking about, that they know what he's doing, that they know what he's thinking. Except obviously people don't, so this nasty habit of his usually causes way too many misunderstandings, frustration and anger on all sides.
Knight Name: Attica Knight. Name Origin: Attica is a peninsula in the Aegean Sea. Within its lands lies Athens, which was the home to most famous Greek philosophers and was a city dedicated to the study of science, mathematics, and philosophy, as well as the arts and language.
Weapon Progression: Page - (PRESET)
Squire - As a squire, Fritz's rapier is still pretty much useless as a physical, damage-inducing weapon (the blade is blunted, and therefore, not sharp at all), though it has grown longer with more detailing on the handle. At this level, his magic has begun growing, and Fritz uses his weapon by drawing a five pointed star with the tip of his blade, either on the ground or in the air. Then he "flicks" it towards his ally, giving them a small burst of stamina and adrenaline, increasing their physical strength briefly. The length of the time it lasts is around 30 seconds max, less if he is weakened. He tires easily at this stage.
Knight - I would like to wait on this and see if I win. :3

How many POWERED characters do you own? One, Sailor Ganymede. Name: Aslan Cordis Aslan means “lion.” Cordis means “heart.” Lionheart. Hur hur. Age: 27 School / Occupation: Resident History teacher, Meadowview High. Yes, he's young. Yes, he's handsome. Sadly, he is more interested in Henry VIII's dead queens than in you. Personality Blurb: Aslan is very bookish, partly due to his area of study and partly because he adores books. He’s a bit of an oft fatigued intellectual; he does much for his craft, even if his craft is little more than teaching unappreciative punk teenagers about the past and writing the occasional article for a historical journal. He likes teaching but doesn’t always feel as if he’s getting through to his students, not because he doesn’t fancy himself an able educator, but because history has the habit of lacking interest for many people. He tries to make it fun, even if that means arriving at school in some ridiculous get-up and reenacting famous battles in front of class (complete with sound effects and fake accents). He is enthusiastic about his subject, motivational toward his students, and as generous as he can be without bending any rules. Outside of his occupation, he enjoys reading, he likes doing research, he thrills at the idea of traveling to historic places during break to supplement his research, or simply for his own benefit, and his idea of a weekend well spent is touring the local museums. In the past, the museum visits ended up being solo jaunts; he tends to go on and on about the things that interest him, and the constant stream of comments and facts isn’t always welcome. Regardless, he is at least diligent in what he does. He can, however, be highly forgetful about anything not pertaining to his life’s work (never expect him to be on time for anything other than a historical conference, unless you lie to him and say the baby shower starts an hour earlier than it really does) and he has a one-track mind, though the path his mind usually takes tends to be more along the lines of people that died and events that occurred hundreds of years ago instead of anyone living or more current events, and he doesn’t handle himself well in arguments—in that he becomes stubborn and recalcitrant. Once he’s settled on an opinion, he has a hard time backing away from it and will defend it even if doing so makes him look like an idiot. Yes, historians argue amongst one another. Yes, it can get ugly. And yes, it is often quite ridiculous. Furthermore, his attempts to motivate people can often make him seem a bit pushy, and his habit of obsessing over people long dead and gone has given him the reputation of being quite odd. Knight Name: Solomon Name Origin: The Temple of Solomon Weapon Progression: Page - (PRESET) Squire – A blunt iron blade (a bit better than the weapons produced in the Bronze Age, but still not comparable to a steel blade, and it remains able to be bent during use)—the most he can do is bludgeon someone with it and give them a good whack on the head, plus some bumps and bruises and maybe a broken bone or two if he’s really lucky and the blade isn’t bent out of shape first. As for magic, perhaps while holding his blade and touching an ally with his free hand, he can heal minor injuries? Nothing extremely severe. Gaping wounds, missing limbs, or anything life threatening would need to be treated elsewhere (at which point he would be more than happy to assist you to the hospital), but he could heal shallow cuts and bruises or even provide temporary pain relief. Admittedly, I suck at coming up with acceptable magical abilities, but I’m sort of attempting to draw from the idea of holy relics and their ability to heal (although, historically relics were thought to cure/heal a bit more than bumps and bruises, but that would be a bit too powerful). Knight – I’m currently unsure what I would like to do for this stage, but would not be against upgrading to a steel blade that isn’t so easily bent and could cause some damage beyond what its first two forms could do. If I went that route, his magic would increase very little in strength and effectiveness, if it did at all. OR, he could go from a gold blade, to an iron blade, to a blade made of a strong, hard wood. Yes, it still seems kind of pathetic, and to some it might seem like a bit of a down grade from iron, and while the hard wood could split or shatter with enough of an impact, it would be more inflexible and enough to batter and break some bones. Currently I have the Crusades, and military orders, and grail quests on my mind, and as one seeks the grail one learns wisdom and humility (and realistically the Holy Grail—if you imagine it as a cup or chalice—would have been made of wood; just sayin'), so I'm envisioning a more humble knight, one who goes from the glittering gold of his initial rapier, to one a bit more sturdy but still a bit brittle in iron, to the strong but humble wood. I don't know. It makes sense in my head. If I went that route, his magic would grow to be a bit stronger, perhaps able to heal mild to moderate injuries (though if healing moderate injuries completely is too strong, then he could heal them enough to where they became mild?), but still nothing severe or life-threatening.

How many POWERED characters do you own? 2 : Super Sailor Chaonis and Lieutenant Painite.
Name: Maurice Grant Age: 20 School / Occupation: DCU : Part Time Line cook at local fancy, yet ominously named, restaurant, ‘Le Monstre’.
Personality Blurb: Maurice is very glad to be entering DCU, after a little while off of conventional school for ‘private’ reasons. What those reasons were aren’t widely known, as Maurice does not seem to have a close knit circle of friends. (He didn’t kill anyone or go to jail, nor did he spend the year crying in his room. He did, in fact, spend it learning how to cook, and fostering his secret love of the art.) Or, in fact, even one ‘best’ friend. Through his general education he was left to himself. By senior year of high school, there were some fairly interesting rumors swirling around about him, and he only hoped they were dissipated into the meaningless, insubstantial vapors of the whispered breaths they had been passed around on. Dead in the air, no longer giving him any trouble. DCU, college, was a new start.
He picked up his bad reputation based solely on his looks: no one spoke to him to find out much about his actual personality. He wore ‘normal’ clothes, nothing too stand out in any one direction. Some times darker, some times lighter, never the same thing twice in one week. He took baths, he was always clean and never pushed or shoved anyone, never started any fights, never spoke out of turn in class. He didn’t smell or lie or cheat. And yet his reputation included all of those things, and anything else that could be made up and spread around about him, if someone was bored that day and feeling so inclined.
The problem was, whenever he was sitting in class, watching the teachers, the other kids, he bore the same expression. Whenever he was lost in deep thought, or spacing out and thinking about nothing at all, he bore the same expression. When he was eating in the cafeteria, or doing his work in homeroom, he bore the same expression. And he bore it whenever he made eye contact with anyone. That expression, the way his face seemed to naturally fall with no conscious thought of his own, was into a frown. A scowl, some said. Like he was always angry at everyone, for no known reason. That made him dangerous, scary, and something to make a story out of.
If anyone did take the time to talk to him, however, they might have found a nice enough boy. Aware, smart in his studied way, and shy if only because of the lack of social interactions altogether. There were, of course, a few people who gave him a chance, and to them he became a sweet companion, but the overall experience of high school was a drag and a downer. He was hoping college would be his chance to change all that. Unfortunately, through the years, he has picked up some bad habits from what was at first something he did not understand, and could not immediately remedy as far as other students fearing him.
He has a very short temper. As common as it was for students to pick on, bait, and try to fight him, he has since developed a short fuse. By the end of his senior year, he had been sent more than once to the Principal’s office for fighting, and his permanent record had more black marks in it from the last two years of high school than all the other years combined. It was the combined effect of puberty, teenage rebellion and an effort to find himself by suddenly deciding enough was too much. He never fought back before the surge of masculine will combined with a growing sense of pent up anger and a need to define himself that is known as ‘being a teenager’ by the adults in his life hit him. Now he more often than not assumes people are starting trouble, banishing his shy and kind side in favor of the protective aggressive, dominate male persona that would not be bullied.
As far as being a knight is concerned, his mentality is the same. He is impressionable, conflicted: he is not blessed with the understanding of why he has had this power sleeping inside him, and when he does call on it he will not quite know what to do with it. As far as he knows, the other powered up beings around the city are all dangerous and at the beginning he would take his orders from a theoretical higher power. An idea of law. Order. Justice. Anyone who does evil, who break the law, who poses a threat, are enemies. He is not a leader, and needs someone to guide him. Whoever or whatever has a deep impact on him will decide how and why he powers up at all, who he fights for, and how he defines his enemies. It would be a very long road of discovery, trial, and error.
Knight Name: Caerleon Name Origin: Caerleon
Weapon Progression: Page - (PRESET)
Squire - The rapier remains ceremonial: it changes in appearance and is perhaps a bit more sturdy, but generally if it is used as a blunt force weapon or a stabbing weapon it will generally break after the first hit. It repairs itself, much like Senshi and their clothes, and Nega weapons, between powering down and powering back up again. Because of this, he uses the weapon as… lightly… as he can, and he relies more on his magic to help him through fights. His magic is essentially the Confuse Ray of Pokemon fame, though it is channeled through his sabre and relayed through direct contact. As a squire, the potency is low, and the level of use might range from temporary dizziness to a momentary lapse into confusion for the opponent. (Leaves them wondering where they are, or what they were just doing, or, most likely, what they were about to do next. It generally impacts their ability to make the next decision they want to). It will only last a short period, and will dispel after one or two hits from Caerleon. It does not leave the target immobilized in anyway, and though they might hurt themselves in trying to fight him while confused, they are still more than able to fight.
Knight – The blade hardens and becomes more useful as far as multiple hits, and thus chances for his magic to transfer. His confusion powers remain unaltered, beyond boosts to compensate for his power up. Would probably figure things out later, if anything more is needed or seems warranted.

How many POWERED characters do you own? None.
Name: Adam Townsend Age: 24 School / Occupation: Graduated Sovereign Heights Preparatory/Fencing Instructor
Personality Blurb: Adam is a highly motivated individual with an unparalleled passion for swords. At the young age of 16 he won his first professional fencing competition, and has been instructing willing learners ever since. This has caused his students to look up to him, and this has made Adam uneasy and self-conscious about his shortcomings so hence his habitual practicing in front of the mirror. When Adam is not instructing, he can be seen with his head in his books, thoroughly reading and rereading the material until he has it down pat. It is his resolve in his studies that makes Adam converse with intellect and poise, which can sometimes make him come off as condescending when he doesn't mean to be.
When Adam is not in front of the public eye Adam's femininity is strongly apparent. "Moisturizing is key," is a life guideline he follows wholeheartedly which has made him very popular around the ladies. He also has a personal hairdresser who does his hair before each outing, and secretly carries a bottle of lotion with him at all times. However, this side of Adam is one he is trying to outwardly express, but has been unable to do so because of valiant attitude and his fear of being criticized. Regardless, he only behaves with a code of conduct fitting a gentleman, and has a dream of becoming a knight someday taking the historic vow of chivalry before a queen.
Knight Name: Grand Canyon Knight Name Origin: Grand Canyon
Weapon Progression: Page - (PRESET)
Squire - Still handling a ceremonial rapier Adam Townshead damage is minimal to his opposing foes when he swings his sword. While his attacks cannot speak for themselves, Adam's use of his magical skill "Canyon Cry," sends a wave released by his cry and the swing of his sword causing the ground to cataclysm and his opponent to possibly destabilize. This however, leaves Adam fatigued and vulnerable so he is unable to counterattack his opponent attack and is susceptible to severe damage.
Knight - I would rather wait to see how the mini-contest plays out!

How many POWERED characters do you own? Two. Sirius and Sassolite. Name: Damian Rose Age: 19 School / Occupation: Mechanic Personality Blurb: Damian is one of those 'troubled' kids. His parents are goodness knows where and he doesn't really care. He is a pickpocket by trade finding it to be rather useful, he likes to take what he can and well if there is anything to make money from he will sell it on. He was the one likely to be getting in trouble for selling cigarettes and stuff at school. He is a troublemaker and generally doesn't care for much else; though of course he doesn't see much wrong with what he does. He tries to say he is a modern day Robin Hood but there is never much giving to the poor happening. Damian loves to make things. He is incredibly productive with his hands and so when he can get hold of something he will tend to take it apart and put it back together again to try and work out how it works and fits together. He doesn't learn too well in the school environment and English was not his best subject. He loves his job if only because he can put things together and take them apart all day long! He couldn't be bothered with college, saw no point in it. Damian rather likes girls in that way that generally means girls don't like him. He was the creep at school that they all wanted to avoid and he hasn't changed that much. He makes a good mate though and is generally up for a laugh. He will help out his mates especially if it involves showing someone what his fist sandwiches are like. As a Knight he would take some adjusting to it. He would love the sudden power and the girls - he would adore the senshi! All those short skirts! He does have some decency in him which would probably be the only thing keeping him on the right side of what he is suppose to be doing. He hasn't ever owned much himself having to rent and borrow his whole life finding that Earth is his to protect would make him incredibly protective of it. He clings to what he does own and Earth would be one of those things. It would lead him to fight for it. Knight Name: Sherwood Name Origin: Sherwood ForestWeapon Progression:Page - (PRESET) Squire - The weapon it's self doesn't change much at this point it becomes a little stronger but is generally still the same old beating tool. It isn't that useful as a weapon however it does carry some magic. The weapon when touching an enemy can 'steal' some of their energy, not much, just a very small amount at a time but over the period of a battle can start to slow them down. The energy is given to Sherwood as a boost though at this stage the amount of energy taken isn't that much of an advantage or disadvantage though it can slow them down a little. Knight - Would like to leave this blank please! Would like to see what happens and then what would fit when the time comes!

How many POWERED characters do you own? I do not own any characters at all. (: Name: Albert David Comstock Age: 18 School / Occupation: Sovereign Heights Prep, with an interest in orchestral music. His dream? To be a conductor! Personality Blurb: Very shy from a young age, Albert grew up the youngest of three children - his older siblings being two girls, Sasha (22) and Hannah (25). His sisters were all musicians in some fashion, Sasha with the piano and Hannah with her voice. Albert has always had a very deep appreciation for the arts, though he is painfully aware he cannot play an instrument very well himself. This is a source of insecurity for him. Desperate to join in his family's activities, Albert took up conducting his sisters in their endeavors with great success. This has helped him build confidence in himself and his abilities. Conducting is really the point where he opens up and forgets his insecurities, and his happy personality really bubbles to the surface. He's the kind of person that opens up to people gradually out of shyness, not because of past pain. Once he's warmed up to you, Albert is a fun-loving, talkative, glass-half-full kind of guy. The problem with his shyness is that he does not have enough confidence in himself to approach someone or lead something on his own - rather, he would watch someone out of the corner of his eye and chicken out in the last moments, or stand on the sidelines and let someone with a more forceful personality step forward. He has a hard time initiating conversations, especially with people he doesn't know, and keeps to himself most of the time. If approached, he tends to be short, quiet and embarrassed. If you prove to be a nice person, he'll open up to you after a few more meetings, but he'll avoid you like the plague if you're a mean spirit. It's not unusual for him to brighten considerably if you're nice, you look like you need a friend or if you have similar interests as he does - music in general, the outdoors, family, school. He'd also love to share hilarious stories with you about his sisters. Since he's not used to having a great deal of friends, if he finds a friend in you and opens up, he has a tendency to overdo it sometimes. He may be too loud or talk too much, but it's all out of honest excitement. He doesn't mean to irritate you (or call you at 9:30 at night because he has something he'd like to tell you), but he'll need someone to tell him to tone it down a bit and relax. He's like that weird kid nobody talks to on the bus because he's using his hands to conduct something from Metallica in his earphones. Actually, he probably is that kid. If you give him the chance though, he's a nice guy with some unusual hobbies and he comes alive when he's with good friends Knight Name: Tanaelva Knight of Earth Name Origin: Tana River in Norway (I used the Swedish name for the river based on how it sounds, but his knight name can be reverted to Tana if need be!) Weapon Progression:Page - (PRESET) Squire - Rush of the River A channeled spell that hearkens back to the river for which he is named, Albert points his weapon at up to two allies (or he can use the ability on himself) to give them a slight boost to speed and impact when fighting enemies for up to 30 seconds. The buffed allies run slightly faster than they normally would, and when they impact terrain or other objects, their momentum and force is increased. The general idea is that they have a river pushing them along, allowing them to move at greater speeds and "crash" into a target like waves hit rocks on the shore. The force applied when a buffed ally hits a target with their bodies or their fists could knock the opponent off their feet. The speed and force effects of the buff dissipate once a target has been hit. His blade is entirely ceremonial, though he probably could, you know, wave it at someone and be sorta-kinda menacing? Knight - I'm not entirely sure what to do with this stage, whether to expand the amount of people he buffs, the time/strength of the buff or to change it to something else river-related.

How many POWERED characters do you own? Just one, eternal sailor Europa. Name: Finn Derouen Age: 19 School / Occupation: Environmental Science and Park Management double major, Sovereign Heights Personality Blurb: First and foremost, Finn likes to be the center of attention. He doesn’t distinguish between praise and derision – he just needs to know that you noticed him. He is quick to take sole blame for trouble arising out of group action, and equally quick to support friends in times of emotional duress… provided you don’t ask him to actually take physical action. The biggest motivating factor in Finn’s life is his need for attention. He is laid-back, easygoing, and sets priorities at his own pace. Don't count on him for anything, ever, because the chances of it actually getting done in a timely fashion are about one in fifty unless it's absolutely essential to the continued existence of the human race. It’s not that he’s incompetent – more like he doesn’t care. He likes the idea of having responsibilities and being relied on, but is less sure about actually completing said responsibilities. Ultimately, if a project isn’t interesting to him personally, it’s likely to wind up half-assed or unfinished. Finn has an idealistic streak backed by a solid foundation in naïveté. He loves nature, is an avid backpacker, and aspires to work as a park ranger or “some kind of activist.” When he wakes up in the morning, he believes there’s nothing he can’t do with enough willpower and a balanced breakfast. He instigates covert public art installations on the Sovereign Heights campus, and doesn’t realize that defacing public property carries a heftier fine when outside an academic setting. His view of the world is still that of a child who does not yet fully grasp that his actions have consequences. Knight Name: Babylon Knight Name Origin: As in, Hanging Gardens Of. Incidentally, also the subject of a British folksong.Weapon Progression: Page - (PRESET) Squire – Babylon’s rapier becomes a Basket-hilted sword, with a broader but still rather useless blade – he’s still not going to be cutting you to shreds anytime soon. Actually, he prefers to hit his teammates with it! A whack from the flat of Babylon’s sword might sting for a few seconds, but in the long run you’ll be better for it – depending on the strength of the hit, allies take between fifteen and twenty percent less damage for the duration of the battle. Knight – The biggest change to Babylon’s sword is that the handle becomes hand-and-a-half length, to give him more options in how to wield it. While it is still too dull to do any cutting, it is sturdy enough to do a fair bit of parry work. His powers remain the same in execution and effect, he still has to actively hit his own teammates for them to work, but the benefit is amplified. A whack from the broad side of Babylon’s sword will now give a twenty-five to forty percent decrease in damage taken.

How many POWERED characters do you own? Sailor Boreas and Lt. Esperite
Name: Silas Esclados Age: 19 School / Occupation: SH: Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice
Personality Blurb: On the surface, Silas is charming, warm, and focused. When placed in a group of strangers, he seems at ease with little to no hesitation at striking up a conversation. His words are generally carefully chosen and he places intellect and kindness over wealth or good looks. Known as being a wonderful listener, his friend’s problems are usually met with well thought out advice. Silas is accepting of most anyone and their lifestyle, this doesn’t mean he will necessarily partake, but he certainly doesn’t see a reason to judge or criticize. Trusting and accepting, he believes people will ultimately find not only a path that works for them, but one that doesn’t bring chaos or harm to the rest of society. When faced with the larger challenges and very stressful situations, he maintains his calm, welcoming demeanor and does his best to think through his problems without acting rashly.
Beneath his warm, charming demeanor, Silas is actually very insecure when it comes to other’s opinions of him. Growing up in a house with two older brothers, he is used to being knocked around and chastised for his actions. While some develop a thick skin from such an upbringing, Silas instead found himself very insecure with other’s thoughts about him. Whenever someone criticizes him, he takes it to heart, regardless of whether or not they are a good friend or complete stranger. However, he doesn’t throw a tantrum or cry. As he aged, he found such outbursts to be fruitless and he was still very much left with the sting of his attacker’s words. Instead, he has adopted a “don’t get mad, get even” attitude when it comes to dealing with conflict. He won’t run away from others when they criticize, he will simply do his best to appear disinterested and continue on with his day. Though from the moment he is criticized, he is contemplating the best way to return such harsh words. This course of action generally means he blows things out of proportion and spends an underserved amount of time and effort on getting what he perceives as proper retribution. His emotions are usually suppressed and he acts them out in a very ugly, behind the scenes manner. His lack of proper emotional expression leads him to have unjustified outbursts as everything just comes flooding out. These antics can lead him to be at odds with others over his actions and words. However, he very rarely, if ever, apologizes for his vengeful actions since he believes he is just returning the favor.
Comic books are a passion for Silas. Ever since he was little, he has admired the strength and bravery of the heroes and even the determination of the villains. While the fantasy aspect was more appealing as a child, he still finds the stories interesting and compelling. He does possess a certain opinion on the writers for each series since he definitely has favorites. His favorite comics are the traditional superhero comics by Marvel and DC since he believes they epitomize the traditional black and white view of good and evil. Comics are also enjoyable since the usually have, what Silas considers, a good ending. Each story is usually met with the wrong doer being punished for their crimes with just retribution.
Silas’ other passion is the Food Network. This television channel is the main reason he went from eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every night to having a mixed, healthy variety of meals to prepare. While he does enjoy some of the simple “how to” cook shows, his favorite are the competitive shows such as Iron Chef. His best meals are usually for friends, but he does on occasion treat himself to an extravagant meal.
Knight Name: Brocéliande Knight Name Origin: Brocéliande: Legendary forest of Arthurian legend that is most well known for the tomb of Merlin.
Weapon Progression: Page - (PRESET)
Squire – The rapier remains ceremonial and may gain a few more decorations such as jewels or a more ornate design. Brocéliande’s magic reveals itself at this stage and it is based on contact with his rapier. After striking an enemy with his rapier, the affected area requires more energy to maintain. For example, if Brocéliande strikes an opponent’s arm, their arm will almost seem heavier and require more energy and stamina to maintain. They do not lose control of their affected body part, but the affected body part will become more difficult to use and could possibly become a weak spot. His magic only lasts for a brief period of time and becomes much more taxing to maintain the longer it is channeled though his rapier. The downside is that the opponent can simply choose to not use that body part or change their fighting style accordingly. The effect caused by the rapier does not stack or add up. In other words, he can’t keep hitting someone’s leg and completely immobilize that appendage. In order for the magic to take effect, Brocéliande must make contact and have a decent amount of concentration in order to channel the magic through his blade. If he is taken by surprise or inadvertently hits someone, the magic does not take effect.
Knight – The rapier becomes lighter and easier to carry, but remains ceremonial with more bells and whistles at this stage. Brocéliande’s magic gains a big boost in power at this stage as well. Although the same rules apply, his magic now stacks with each successful hit. This time around, he can create weak spots by repeatedly targeting the same area. However, he can’t simply knock someone out by hitting their head over and over. He also cannot stop someone’s heart or cause damage to their organs by targeting their chest. These areas simply become very exhausting to maintain. Each successful strike that adds more magic to the affected area will cost a greater amount of energy. (The magical upgrade is more of a starting place and I’m happy to revise accordingly once he reaches this stage)

How many POWERED characters do you own? None. Name: Ian Meath Age: 21 School / Occupation: Graduated from Azure Valley Academy. He teaches rock climbing. He'll be going to university. Personality Blurb: Ian is the outdoorsy type. He likes to be out in nature whenever he can, this is one reason he's yet to go to university. He likes to rock climb, hike, and camp. He's not in to fishing, he doesn't like the idea of hooking fish (it's cruel). Though he will eat fish, so long as he isn't the one who has to catch the fish. Since he can't stop other people from fishing and killing the fish, he won't put such things to waste. The same can be said for any other sort of meat, he won't go hunting, but he won't turn down a medium rare steak. His parents aren't too pleased with this decision to not jump right in to university, but he wants to enjoy a few years before jumping right back into the grind of school. This isn't to say he is letting his studies slip, he has managed to buy college books from websites that sell college books. He's found out, from friends, what books they're using for certain classes, and than goes online and purchases the books himself. So he is keeping up with things, he doesn't want to go into University having forgotten things from High School, that would be a very immature decision on his part. Ian's even gotten his friends to type up exams they've taken so he can take them also, a way to test himself and see what he needs to work on more. This studying of his is the only reason his parents haven't forced him in to university yet, though if he tries to spend another year without attending they have promised to drag him kicking and screaming to the local Uni to register. Knight Name: City of Troy Knight Name Origin: City of Troy The Trojan wars, in the city of Troy. A city which for a long time people couldn't find, really...just follow the directions, duh. Weapon Progression:Page - (PRESET) Squire - The rapier has remained the same for the most part. A little lighter weight, the hand cage has found itself now made of a thinner metal. It's still not meant for cutting or even meant for much of anything else. But when he touches an enemy with it he takes a little of their energy. Making them drowsy and tired as the fight progresses. Knight - I'm not sure yet. I think I'd let rp decide what changes should come. Maybe after some time the enemy would just fall asleep?

How many POWERED characters do you own? None Name: Skitt Jayko Age: 18 School / Occupation: Azure Valley Academy/ Part time Computer Technician Personality Blurb: His personality is calm and collected, his words soft, and rather purrlike. The air of which he holds himself can irritate others, because it is very rare for him to loose his well kept demeanor of nonchalance. Speaking to others, Skitt tends to made sarcastic, cynical remarks, but knows when to keep his tongue around those of higher position. He is very respectful those whom he has deemed worthy, which is most people unless they've done something so incredibly stupid that he no longer can, and would willingly risk his own life for another if that person deserved it. He tends to cocoon his inner self away from others, not willing to share more information than he has to. He will talk to someone, yes, but never hold an in depth conversation about his own life. He is protective, and will care for others before himself, even if it seems like he needs to take care of himself. Unfortunately, because of that, he is easily convinced to do almost anything that someone else wants him to do. He does have a few limits, but most of the time, what people want are things he doesn't actually mind doing. Knight Name: Algodones Dunes Knight Name Origin: Algodones DunesWeapon Progression:Page - (PRESET) Squire - Sandspray: Using his sword as a focus, he can send a spray of sand towards the opponent. This causes their accuracy to be lowered by 20 percent for 3 turns. Knight -Sandsong: This spell fills the area of effect with a sandstorm that dissipates on contact with anything solid. When you cast the spell, you must designate any creatures in the area of effect as allies or enemies. For the duration of the sandstorm, all allies in the area hear a soft, lilting song that bolsters their spirits and confidence. At the same time, as the sand strikes their flesh, it heals them for up to 1/4 their current hit points. (Acts like a Mass heal light wounds.)
