Even if you are going to rave, but for some reason it isn't currently possible in your life, you can't call it kandi? I understand that, but at the same time I think it is very unfair to really awesome kandi kids who just have never raved. What are your thoughts?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Just because you haven't raved before doesn't mean you can't call it kandi or be called a kandi kid. A raver is someone who love the culture and the music and just because of circumstances where you may not be able to attend one doesn't mean you can't enjoy talking in rave forums, guilds, discussion boards and call yourself a raver. So I say welcome to the rave world. Lovely kandi you have on too in your sig.

Let me start out by saying I really don't like this debate, and I'm kinda in a bad mood to begin with (thought I understand you just opened up a discussion with no harsh intentions)
You absolutely can call yourself a kandi kid if you don't rave. I don't rave for personal reasons, yet I still consider myself a kandi kid, just not a raver. For me, its about the vibes, and the trading aspect (if possible). I've been called a poser, and then someone told me that you can't call yourself a kandi kid, someone ELSE has to say that you're one...? >_>
But anyways, yes you totally can. It just starts getting bad when people become a "kandi kid" to be "cool" and really have no idea what that even means..

I dislike people who feel that have to say things mean like that to others. I'm sorry you were called that. You've got more kandi kid blood in your pinky finger than alot of these scene kids who are doing it just to be cool. I love trading kandi with you and will always support you in everything. Stay strong and always be awesome.

the only real rule to be a true kandi kid is that the kandi you wear to a party has to be made by someone else and given to you. the only exceptions are ur chains and trade-ables. and the easiest way to get a ton of kandi is to make awesome pieces and trade them at a party... thats how i did it my first time.

I don't rave for personal reasons like panda, but I hope to go to some minor ones. I get claustrophobic so I cant be with a lot of people. I can also over heat. IDK... I don't do it to be cool. I happen to be the only kandi kid I know. I am not a raver.

Aww well thank you 3nodding Normally people saying things like that doesn't bother me, but that did >_< And @Bluejayy I don't think there should be any "rules" to be a kandi kid, but again, I don't rave. I do mainly wear kandi that has been traded to me nowadays, though

@ KandiiPanda your welcome. I'll always be rooting for you.
@ Bluejayy there is no rule to kandi. You can wear any type of kandi whether you make it yourself or it was something that was traded or given to you.

I don't think you have to go to a rave to be a kandi kid. Honestly, if you like the music, the style, and everything else about it then sure, it's alright to call yourself a kandi kid =]
Although, perhaps going to a rave helps your case a bit more and you're able to show off that you are a kandi kid and hopefully have more fun and meet a whole bunch of people that are kandi kids, too. ^_^

Yes you can. I had never been to an "actual" rave until a long time after I started making Kandi. I still called it Kandi. It's not like anyone else was making them, other than my friend who also found the thread at the same time.

To me, making rules for being a Kandi Kid, and calling people posers if they don't fit these rules you've made up, goes against PLUR and the very basis of Kandi culture. There's enough judgment and hatred in the world; we don't need to be spreading it amongst ourselves.
