Vitani wasn't particularly hungry, nor was she particularly annoyed, upset or angry. She was just...content. Except for the fact that she was bored. There was a downside to knowing for a fact that everybody would screw you over some day: you didn't have many friends.
"Stop it, Tani, you sound like Vitali," she chastised herself out loud, rolling her eyes at herself as she tossed a bit of hair out of her eyes.
A twig snapped somewhere behind her. Sharply, Tani whirled about and fell into a defensive position, claws sliding out of her paws.
"Who's there?" She shouted, her voice harsh and menacing even to her own ears. "Come out so I can see you!" It wasn't that she would hurt whoever was stalking her...well, unless she had no choice. Noting to herself that it might just've been a squirrel, Vitani didn't alter her stance. If it was a just a squirrel, no harm no foul. If it was some dangerous fox waiting to jump on her...well, there would definitely be some harm done, and it certainly wouldn't be to Vitani herself. No, she had never lost a fight, mostly because she could always come up with an excuse as to how it wasn't 'loosing': maybe she had gotten a few hits in and decided to let him live so he could lick his wounds--the fact that she was running away had very little to do with it, really.
Either way, Vitani was sure she could handle whomever was foolish enough to break a twig while trying to stalk someone. Hopefully, the impending fight would at least alleviate her boredom for a little while...somehow, she doubted it would.
