Do you remember them?
I remember joining and questing for a week or two to get a fishing pole and doing a lot of fishing. I also remember doing all the quizzes with like 1000s of questions trying to get gold xD

I remember first joining and thinking that it was lame so I quit for a while and played more Neopets O.o

I remember when I first joined Gaia!
I had green hair, and a white "drop-dead gorgeous" dress. xD
I remember when I first joined, I spent most of my time in Towns and doing Jigsaw puzzles. 3nodding

I spent my earliest days in gaia doing jigsaw puzzles and shaking trees on towns. I even post on my own profile just to get gold xDD.

Back in my day we had peasant clothes and we didn't have to wait three days to get a trading pass.
We also didn't have towns and that lame capatcha code for fishing.
I also remember when slots opened and everyone was shitting bricks over it.
And I remember when cards opened, I loved that game. ;o
I miss 2004.

I remember spending all my time on towns talking to complete randoms like myself, deperately shaking trees for gold, that kind of thing. I think I did one (?) jigsaw puzzle before I went on to read all the mangas XD

Yes, I do. I remember saving up for my first item, which was a pink top and then after completing my newbie outfit, I decided to quest for fairy wings because I thought they looked pretty.

I joined and left not a day later.
Then I came back, and I remember doing those quizzes for gold in the CB, hanging out in towns a lot, and doing jigsaw puzzles a lot as a newbie on Gaia.

I don't know. Six or eight years? Has it been that long?
My original account was angeldogblessing or something.
Then I got haxeed and never got it back. :'D
I wasn't active for a good four years, though.
I started playing after Neopets got all uberr nazi crazy and they froze my account for making a Harry Potter roleplay...that was super innocent.
I mean, like Disney princess innocent.
But I was all; Harry x Hermione foreverzzz and they flipped..."THIS IS NOT A DATING SITE YOU HORRIBLE STALKER FREAK. FROZEN. Love, TNT. <3"
Back in ze daay;
All I ever did was rp about unicorns and mermaids and horsies.
The forums was a big long messy list with itty-bitty icons.
Everything was cheap, and crappy.
Pixels were mahoosiive and layering was always glitch-yy.
Most Gaians were genuinely nice..even in GD. It was kind of amazing.
Jigsaw puzzle was the cool new thing.
Donating irl cash to Gaia was a rarity. It paid the artists to draw more items you had to buy with gold.
Fairy Wings was the most elusive item.
All the cool kids wrote in MASSIVE FONT SIZE OVER 9000 BRIGHT COLORS OMG RAINBOOWS BOLDED
Ahhh...such fun..

Ahhh.. I remember going through a lot of sleepover roleplays in the CB, when the CB wasn't as insane as it is now and when there were less flamers. I guess I don't blame them though, since there was a separate forum for roleplaying. XD; I remember joining those "No Boys Allowed" threads which were so ironic because they let boys in anyway. LOL. I had a girl power thing going on at that time. In those threads I wouldn't be ashamed every time a boy went skipping in and going, "Hey what's up?" and I'd be like, "Oh nothing.. *THROWS YOU OUT THE WINDOW*". I agree with flauterfli about the fairy wings being the most elusive item... at that time I thought everyone who wore fairy wings were close to gods and godesses. <- ( Sad, but true. ) I remember saving up to 11k in 2004 and I had the most horrendous outfit put together, not caring as long as I had my money. If I remember correctly it was a red bandana, the black olympics shirt, the dried grass skirt, with matching red slippers, oh joy!

I remember when I first joined GaiaOnline.
I was excited whenever I got an item over 1000 gold. D: I was so pathetic. But, it was amazing.
A few weeks later I made a guild for Rozen Maiden, and four girls decided it'd be a good idea to make a roleplay. It was amazing, and I've been roleplaying ever since. I kind of miss those old days. (:
