Welcome to Headquarters
Within the tree-network of the dark, and dangerous Fangroot lies a particular rut tree, well known to the orphans of the tribe, and those that care for them. A portion of the tree has been set aside, the branches and leaves encouraged by concerned beaks and tiny paws to grow into a connected portion of 'safehouses'. Places that the youths know they can go to for shelter. While not explicitly stated, it is unspoken that while there are one or two general use homes, most are shared amongst certain groupings of orphans, and some are kept in top shape, others mostly full of junk piles and clutter.
This one in particular now has its claim stated boldly, the symbol of the tribe and the mark of a paw stamped loudly in red across the entrance. It is in the best shape of the homes, the interior carefully maintained by the youths that call it home, and is also fiercely protected as a territory.
If you decide to make your way across the rickety rope bridge, or perhaps, fly to the small wooden walkway surrounding the large 'house', you'll find yourself greeted by audacious young voices.
"Whossat, then? Y'best be with the PaW, less y'want some trouble!"
Welcome to Fangroot's PaW, a group of orphans that have made themselves family.

About Fangroot's Protectors and Warriors
Description: A close-knit group of Fangroot orphans [and their allies], they live together, adventure together, and fight together. PaW members are recognizable by the red stripe across their eyes, stained into their fur or feathers periodically to keep the color bold. Each member of the group is required to go through an initiation.
Mission: To protect and better those within the crew, first and foremost, the territories of Fangroot, second, and all allies and orphans amongst Stonecrest, third.
History: Founded by a young ferret named Baneberry, he felt a need to create a group that would protect and support one another, a family for those like himself. Important to him were loyalty, strength, and adventure, so in a reimagining of his idea of a ship's crew, a mercenary band, or gang of adventurers, he took on the name Redfang, and began to gather members.

About:
Initiates: If you are on this list, it is because you've expressed interest in joining PaW, but have not yet completed the required RPs.
Members: To make the members list, you must have completed an initiation RP. All members receive the PaW facestripe edit onto their critter's art, and are welcomed to take 'Redfang' as their second name, so be dedicated!
Ranks: Earned via Activity and IC behavior/canon. Most of the ranks are frivolous titles, however, and several titles are variations of the same rank [that's just how kids are!]. Rank is lost due to inactivity, as ICly, a critter that didn't come around would lose their title, and the point of this group is to facilitate RP and Plotting.

I wanted to maybe probably suggest [Basil] to join the PaWs?

Totally interested in your handsome little fellow! Just a brief summary of his personality/backstory [and why he'd want to sign up], and we can totally get something going. In fact, since they're all Fangrooters, it doesn't even have to be a 'meet and greet' type RP, they could've already known each other, etc.

Aah, I see, alright.
Okay. Well, to narrow down his backstory, he ran away from Zephra's orphanage because of a sudden impulse to leave, and he kind of wandered around until he found his way to Fangroot. His father died from a plant infection/poisoning, his mother died of heartbreak, left him a necklace, and he got sent to the orphanage.
In character, Basil's kind of a laid-back dude. He's loyal to whoever he considers friends, won't get angry very quickly, and usually tries to be wary - he'll usually look out for dangers instead of just leaping into action, though that doesn't always work out. Sometimes, he tends to over-think things, delaying doing something until the last moment, and sometimes he just gets more impulses to randomly do adventurous stunts (like his journey to Fangroot), which sometimes does and sometimes doesn't work out with his wariness.
I think he'd like to sign up simply to have a place to be and people-friends to back him up (and vice versa) - I'd say he's a team ferret.
And yeah, I guess that might work; though I was thinking of maybe making him still a little new? Maybe he's been there for a month or a few and they just bumped into each other a few times?

Switchfoot would love to join.
Personality: Still fully fleshing this out but Switchfoot is the inquisitive sort. She's never quite convinced that there isn't another option, angle or opinion to be considered no matter how confident someone is. She's a bit of a risk taker, less about pulling dangerous stunts though than sticking her head in some crevasse to investigate what's inside. If you bait her with the idea of discovering new things you can get Switchfoot to try a lot of inadvisable things.
Why she wants to join: she was an orphan once and she hated it, Zephra's had a lot of kids but they weren't family and she'd like that again. Also she is fascinated by this Baneberry Laird keeps going on about

Garret wants to join, yes. In my entry, I had him run across some old crazy squirrel who directed him towards PaW HQ. Of course, Garret thinks he's about to join the Fangroot army... XD
He's not a touchy-feely type, so he'd be perfectly content to live on his own. But he'd like the adventuring aspect, which would probably be the key factor in him joining up. Adventurers find all sorts of awesome things, after all!

@Raptor: That makes sense. Bane [and PaW] are proactive about patrolling borders, so a new person would've been noted and watched [to make sure he wasn't from another tribe, trying to get up to trouble]. In fact, Bane would probably approach Basil in the first place, to give him the once-over. We could start there, if you'd like, and I can get up the RP for that sometime tonight.
@Niki: I wouldn't call Bane 'touchy-feely', either. They rough-house, adventure, and so on, and the family aspect is more 'understood and not spoken of'. More as in, they're not going to hug, but if someone messes with a PaW member, the whole crew will jump in. We can treat your entry as canon, if you'd like, and have you start an RP with Garret coming to HQ?
@umbra: Hahaha, anyone that's good with Laird is good with Bane, since they're BESTIES. We can do an RP with all three of them, if you want an easy way for Bane and Switch to get acquainted.
