The spotted mare paced from one place to another within the boundaries of the family glade that her and her mate had established. A look of worry was clear on her face and nothing that the lion, Surgir, or one of her youngest daughters, Sayan, could say could calm her down. Charlamagne had found out the dreadful news of her eldest daughter having run away from their home some time ago, though as for the reason, she was still in the dark. Now, she had the task of telling Edward of this circumstance.
She wasn't worried so much of her mate's reaction, as she was of what her daughter was thinking or going through that had caused the decision to run off. So, back and forth, she paced, nickering in distress. Her worse fear was coming to her mind; her family was falling apart. That was far from the truth, but she couldn't help but think this, as well as other things, like; I'm a horrible mother, This has got to be my fault somehow, or What went wrong? Continuing with her pacing, she just awaited her mate.

The Great Edward Elric made his way to the glade, knowing that his lovely mate awaited her return. Thinking of his mate always brought to mind his kids, his beautiful children that he and Charl had created.
Alik and Marsiela were the eldest, and complete opposites from each other. Alik was lazy, and never seemed to want to talk or do much with him, whereas Marsiela was lively and always wanting to be around him, going on adventures and hanging out with him. He often wondered where Alik got his laziness from, because neither his mate nor himself were all to lazy. But he loved his small but ever growing family. The younger kids still hung around the glade where him and his mate called home, but they to were growing up and someday they would leave their small area to go have their own families. Of course, only with his acceptance of their mates.
He got closer to the glade and saw his mate pacing, the small lion she called her friend keeping step with her. Her face was drawn in worry which made him move faster to her side. “Charl! Whats wrong? Are you ok?!” He circled her, checking to see if she was hurt while taking in his surroundings to see if their was an enemy nearby.

As she paced, she was about to go out and look for her mate. Just as she went to leave the glade, the sight of him approaching caused her to stop. "Oh Edward!" She exclaimed, softly, yet still frantically, never really calling him by his whole name before.
Although she was deeply concerned, she still gave him the welcome nuzzle she always gave him when he would return. After doing so, she backed away from him some and looked deeply into his eyes. "I'm fine Edward, but... but... but..." It was now starting to prove very hard to contain her emotions as tears started to well in the corner of her eyes. Her bottom lip trembled as she did her best to hold the tears back from falling. But after awhile, she couldn't hold it any longer as she lunged to him and pressed her face against his neck, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Edward... Mar-Marsiella is gone! She went out one night and just never returned!" She rushed out, nuzzling her face down into his jacket.

He froze. Marsiella had run away? That didn’t really seem like her. Not at all. He lowered his neck to nuzzle his distraught mate. Her tears were slowly starting to make his jacket wet, but all that mattered was that Charl would calm down and tell him everything that happened.
“Charl? Did she say where she was going? Or give you any clue what she was going to do?” He asked in a soothing voice while rubbing his face against the back of her neck.
He froze when the stray thought appeared in his brain. What if she had been taken? What if some stallion had come by and seen her. He felt a deep rumble in his chest that could be sound akin to a growl. Then he would just have to find her. But first he needed the information.

She buried her face into her mate's neck, sobbing about the loss of her daughter. She knew that Ed was trying to comfort and calm her, but several thoughts running through her mind seemed to hinder that. She couldn't help but think that Marsiela could have fallen off a cliff, or into the ditch. Her worse fear was that she was attacked and eaten by a kalona or skinwalker, which made her shudder and cry more.
It took some time, but she eventually managed to calm herself enough to pull away from Ed and look to him. "S-she didn't say anything. You know how she goes out on her 'adventures'? Well, usually when she does, she still comes home... bu-but, it's been four days already and she hasn't returned. That's just really odd of her. She, she would have sent some word to us somehow if she was going to be out longer than normal." She told him, tears still dribbling from her eyes, still shocked of what has happened.

Her sobs grew while he tried to comfort his inconsolable mate. Her words running through his mind and his daughter frightened face an ever present picture that would not fade away. She was probably scared and looking for them. The quick flash of his Marsiela lying broken on the ground flashed in his thoughts and he squeezed his eyes shut, blocking the memory.
He opened his eyes and stared at the ground, thinking of their next move. Four days was long enough for her to get lost and farther away than when he ever wanted her to go. “We need to go looking for her. We need to start asking around and see if anyone has seen her.” He pulled away from Charl and looked into her tearful gaze. “We need to go.” He turned to look past the trees surrounding the glade that his family inhabited and then looked at her once again, motioning his head to for her to follow him. “Do you have any idea where she could have gone? What places she’s been exploring lately?”

When Edward said that they needed to go, Charlamagne sniffled, trying to get her crying contained. Eventually, though tears still ran down her face, she managed to calm herself enough to follow after him. All she hoped was that they found their second born child and soon.
She trotted up beside him, following his gaze to the trees ahead. At the question, she pushed through her worry long enough to think. "Well..." she paused, trying to remember, "the last time she was clamoring about the swamps. I also believe I remember her being curious of what was in the mountains that were behind my old teepee."
