The Echo Never Fades The Echo Never FadesIn Heaven's Air by Sam Hazo In Heaven's AirOctober by Eric Whitacre (best song ever!!!! ...ok one of them....) October(and then of course there's more classical songs that make me tear up, but they're not really band songs since most of them are piano lol)

American Elegy by Frank Ticheli. Ticheli composed this piece after the incident at Columbine High School. It is is memory of the kids who died. Half way though the song there is a trumpet solo that is to be played from off stage. Most people will play it in the back of the auditiorium. We actually sent our trumpet player to the cat walk over the auditorium. It was an amazing effect that gave me chills every time we played it or practiced it. It is the saddest song I know, and the most uplifting song I know.

Definately American Elegy. Amazing song, beautiful meaning.
There are many songs that pull at ym heartstrings, unfortunately, I don't know their names.

It's going to sound silly, but An American Celebration. We play it every year for the fifth graders to try to convince them to join band. Today was my last time playing it ever. I always tear up during The Battle Hymn of the Republic and I doubt it will ever be the same for me after playing so many arrangements of it in my life.

Frank Ticheli's newest composition Rest
I heard it when I went to watch my boyfriend perform in the Texas 5-A concert band. He got to meet both Ticheli and John Mackey. I was insanely jealous :O
It's such a beautiful piece and the story behind it just adds to the emotional value of the piece. Very Eric Whitacre-esque

I'd have to say Fate of The Gods by Steven Reineke and Blue River Saga by James Swearingen :
