---No Picture Yet---
The Land of Rice Fields is a small country sharing a border with the Land of Fire. Orochimaru, a former Konohagakure ninja, took control of the country, and renamed it the Land of Sound.
Otogakure is Orochimaru's personal village. He founded it for the sole purpose of collecting ninja for his experiments, and his quest to learn all the jutsu in the world.
Once Orochimaru was killed the village was not disbanded, but rather quickly taken over by other ninja vying for the possession of leader. This makes it one of the youngest and least ordered villages of the ninja world.

First Post. Word, Shugguhs~

Collé raised an eyebrow towards Doctor Cain. She could not possibly hide her distaste at the news of his unfamiliarity with the Village of Hidden Sound. Seriously...? He doesn't even know the town? Her eyes lowered a little. It was Collé's luck that was decreasing, but she couldn't have all the cards... You win some, you lose some... And it wasn't all bad. After all, he was offering to lead her to a local eatery of some nature, and in the end, Collé wasn't picky enough to be looking for specifics. At that point, anything would have been sufficient, confirmed by the vibrations in her midsection of attrition and hunger. It was with a sigh of endearing hope that she returned her attention to the good Doctor before her, sedating her feelings of distaste for the situation for just a bit further. Optimism was key. "I'm not particularly guided towards one culinary delight or the next," Collé said softly, with a slight shrug in both her body and tone, "However, if we could avoid noodles, that would be particularly nice. I am not wonderfully partial to noodles." It was true, though the lifestyles of most of the populous consisted of a heavy diet of seafood and pastas, Collé hated noodles of most kinds. Cold or warm. But she did love seafood, and that seemed to be another prevalent food. Luck would lead to seafood, and maybe a sip of saki.

Collé wasn't particular to playing during walks, but if she was to be keeping someone company, she had a tendency to wonder whether they prefer her vocal company or the company of a warming sonata, from the crisp strings of a crimson violin. It was in this particular case that Collé was unsure of whether Cain preferred music. In fact, she wasn't even sure if he enjoyed it, being that he was unreadable behind the mask's cold visage. "So, Doctor," Collé started her inquiry with courtesy, as she started walking with him to whatever destination he was deeming the correct one, "Would you prefer that I perform? I have somewhat little to say, but if it is conversation you desire, I would be more than happy to oblige with whatever means I can muster." It was true, the more interesting parts of Collé's life, she had absolutely no plans on elaborating them. It was assured that her life was somewhat bland, with the exception of some gorey details. Those in particular were the ones she was considering as moot. Atleast for the time being, and definitely not to some medical professional behind a sharp mask.

The Doctor watched carefully as the girl's expression changed ever so slightly, the careful raising of a brow. The Doctor was a man of great intelligence but his studies were far from the subject of sociology. Every action had a cause, that was the most basic of knowledge he had ever learned though the cause or the action itself may not have been clear to him. Once she gave a positive response, an assurance of her acceptance of his offer, he broke into stride allowing for a fast footed but in no way hurried pace. His robes flowed against the wind ever so slightly allowing for the waves of cloth to bring the entire figure of the Doctor's being into animation. The beak perched forward released the familiar hum as he began to speak, "I have little to say myself..." He paused without looking to her. His ever so prevalent pauses were the most obvious sign of his cluttered thoughts. The same cluttered thoughts to this moment distracted him from his goal. After years of removing the worries of food and other biological necessities by performing a mindless series of habits placed him in difficulty to once again focus on them. "If you wish... I would enjoy your music..." The Doctor did not break pace, alter the volume of his voice, or look away from his focus. His body was attempting to remove any focus to allow for his perception to take over. The sounds of the extravagant music would near instantly cure him of this burden and place his mind at rest allowing him to search with a far greater rate of success.

"As for the food... I believe the market holds a variety of foods..." Knowing that they resided within the Rice Field Country made things rather easy for Cain to understand that grains and meats would be most prevalent though through what preparation he could never imagine. Even with effort to focus on the subject he simply did not know any of the details, he simply wondered along in the general direction. Following through the roads where he had rarely traveled his eyes moved along searching for signs that could give an easy answer to his current quest. The people flowing throughout the streets carried with them countless varieties of goods though the analysis of these goods was quickly overcome by the countless chemical builds and anatomical reactions he witnessed in the every action performed by the enormous experiment the Doctor knew as Society. As the cold barrier of the lenses peered out to the public as if through a window watching animals at a zoo the people looked back as dumbfounded, confused, and scared as captive animals. Humanity had always desired freedom, a desire powerful enough for them to even believe they had attained it despite voluntarily and subconsciously allowing themselves to be controlled. The power of humanity's arrogance had evolved over time to not only a belief that they were free but that they were individual. Humanity has uncontrollable amounts of potential... yet they refuse it... I will force them to their true abilities... By this time the Doctor had entirely lost focus on his attempts to locate his goal.

Collé was more than happy to oblige at a request of music, instead of some kind of prying conversation. It wasn't as if she had many secrets to keep, but the past was a terrible thing to reflect on. Exceptionally if the reflection was a broken mirror, with many twisted angles. Either way, her music could tell a story or seize a moment far better than Collé ever could. She gripped her bladed bow with anticipation, moving the violin to be supported on her shoulder. Collé made sure to continue to follow the Doctor's footsteps, hoping he was going the right direction. His head was turned not forward, but as if examining things. This made her uneasy, but she had no choice but to continue to follow his path in hopes that the destination would eventually be reached. Collé stroked the first note of her measure, a simple four-over-four. She wasn't about to draw upon complicated musical theory when she wasn't even sure where they were going. She played quietly, so as not to disturb anyone that they might pass as they enter into a more bustling area of town. This time came very soon, when they were in the heart of the village of Hidden Sound.

However, there were no specific restaurants to be found. Collé's brow lowered in concern, as she continued to play, softly towards Cain. She stopped for a second when it seemed like their wandering had become aimless. She let a sigh and halted her playing temporarily. "Forgive my lack of patience on the matter, Doctor," Collé started simply, attempting to voice her concern as respectfully as she could, while still cutting to the chase, "...But if you don't know where you're going, I'd rather find another guide. I asked your exploration so I could avoid matters like these, wandering the streets full of disorganized people." It was in truth that she assuredly hadn't wanted to do exactly what they were doing. If it was some nature of search, Collé would have been better off alone. Another thing she chose to voice. "I haven't ever been to this Village before, but it seems like you and I are in the same scenario, which distresses me due to the fact that I thought of you as some kind of local. You can't, after all, attend the Academy unless you live in the area, if my standings on such educational matters are still correct." She began, more lightly, but with stern intentions, "...Have you ever been here before?" Perhaps she was a bit differently built, but it seemed to Collé that if one had even been to the Village once, it wouldn't be difficult to locate perhaps one of the most abundantly populated area of the mercantile district. Sustenance had a glorious tendency to make itself known to the streets of villages. It wasn't as if the food was hiding.

Once the air became vibrant with the ever mesmerizing tones the Doctor's mind as if struck by a powerful drug fell silent. His mind no longer clouded his eyes began to register the telling tales of the movement of the people and the significance of signs. The thin glass resting within the wooden beak beamed out searching again for the location they found themselves in. With a mind now clean and organized the being was quick to locate his whereabouts and even his destination. From the movements of the people and the food carried in hand he was able to discern his path. The beak came to a halt from its slow turns and observations to a now sturdy and constant direction. The Doctor's quick pace did not once fall from consistency and now seemed even more constant. Within the dancing tunes and the soothing sonatas he was able to move nearly in rhythm with the music. The signs more exuberant and clear as well as the people hustling by. Lumber, Shinobi Equipment, Clothing, Weapons, Alcohol, etc. The multitudes of signs displayed clearly what good were being sold and with the growth of the economical process it would be short timing before the two would reach the heart of the Market District as the Doctor had intended. The musical serenity came to a halt after minutes of play and wonder and the Doctor's pace stumbled as the final tune came to an end. The beak slowly turned to the source of the once entrancing sounds. The end of the music was quickly followed with the thoughts of the girl.

She seemed rather displeased with the whole situation and the actions performed by the Doctor. The girl was far from passive and sturdily addressed her concerns, an aspect the Doctor could greatly respect. His pace slowed before the beak turned once again in the upright position. "I apologize... I was lost in thought..." He paused before looking to her once again, "I can understand your distress, I do however know where we are going... Around this corner there will be many stores and stands... there is the general eateries we seek..." The synthetic tone hissed and buzzed as it spoke a factor common to the device though within the situation it did poorly to hide the Doctor's discontent. A discontent not drawn from the girl's words but more so from the loss of the elegance that filled the air mere moments ago. His thoughts focused in on her question barely long enough for him to justify a response, "I do live within the village, I have traversed the streets before... but I do keep to my studies..." The pace strengthened once again, an action purely for displaying confidence and a lack of patience. "I no longer attend the academy myself, I have finished my studies this very day..." The Doctor had decided long into the last night that his time was being wasted. The academy could teach him nothing more. The use of chakra in medical practice and the practicality of mobility through jutsu was quickly established and was truly all the Doctor could learn. "I do live here however, and I intend to continue to... so you are correct on the methods of education though I care little for them myself." With a fluid turn around the corner of a building and the whipping of a robe in the air the Doctor;'s figure took a 90 degree turn before following forward into a large open air market. The air was most assuredly filled with the smell of countless varieties of food though the Doctor would never know. Within the beak a strong lavender and garlic musked any smells that would attempt to penetrate his apparatus. "Here we are..." The Doctor spoke as his hands parted ways and lifted into the air presenting the market, "I apologize for any delays..."

It seemed that just as Cain was justifying his lack of direction, with fair detail, they were arriving upon that specific area of the village. It wasn't the sights that led way to Collé's assumption of their success, but rather the wafting smells of cooked foods of all varieties. This was a blessing, but rather a taunting factor against her stomach. It was fairly difficult for her to even concentrate on the dialogue that was coercing the air between them when her senses were distracted so thoroughly. She was pleased to hear that the Doctor had not taken so much as insult as to voice sedation for her concerns, but even more pleased to hear that his distracted guidance had pulled through after all. That was something that surprised her, as she had already come to the conclusion that it was very possible she'd have to find some food on her solitude, rather than relying upon outside help. Collé didn't regret gripping his attention, but it was interesting to hear it had been his last day of study. "I'm pleased to hear for your graduation, I suppose..." She spoke softly towards Cain, just over the bustle of sociality that was beginning to surround them, "Quite strange that today was the day I chose to grip your attention. If I may ask, where is it you plan to go next?" She didn't have any idea what kind of career a Shinobi would take upon themselves after graduating from the Academy. Again, something that defaulted with the fact that she had not been formerly educated.

As they made their way fully into the view of the streets that were littered with cuisine establishments, Collé's senses were swarmed with more than just smells, but sights. Nearly everything was cooked in view, and steam and grease were aerial performances above every stove. She examined the details, all at once, again lowering her Viol and bow to her side. Collé was lost in the sights enough to not be interested in performance at the time. She felt particularly drawn towards a few seafood parlors, as well as some stewing pots, most of which were being brewed under a single tent that was ladling them out in bowls. She let her view come upon each of these places, before returning her attention to Doctor Cain. "I'm not here to impose upon you, and it seems apparent to me that most, if not all, of these establishments are not serving provision without cost..." Collé said, her eyes still looking left and right at the ryo that was being passed between hands, "If nothing is free, I humbly request that you pick the establishment at which we will be eating... As it is you that will be paying. As previously elaborated, I am completely broke." She said the last part apologetically, even though it was fact that she had already mentioned. Collé regretted that she had no obvious profession, but perhaps she could find out more about the economics of the local area by exposing herself to it, something that she did only with deep hesitation. Her trust in people had not gone so far as of late.

Humorous, that was the best way to describe Cain's views on the girl's response. With her nostrils subtly flaring and her eyes examining the locale and the numerous eateries. Most enjoyable of her reaction was indeed what she spoke. The Doctor stepped onward making his way towards the center of the market. Steam filled the air and even managed to fog his lenses momentarily as they strode past one of the many establishments. The beak turned towards the girl before the speakers hummed again, "You are right on a few of these statements though I will correct your assumption of 'we'..." The hollow sound of the voice would normally mask the amusement possessed behind the mask. The Doctor was completely unaware of the girl's talents in not only auditory performances but her auditory sense as well. "I will gladly pay... your lack of wealth was made known and I had such in mind..." He paused as the beak looked on directly towards the girl. Despite the possible direct eye contact the lenses hid well the confides of the mask. "I am gladly to purchase you some food... but I shall not be partaking myself..." The beak turned its view back once again to the many stands around them. It seems some form of politeness drives this girl's decisions. To respect thus perhaps I should simply choose a restaurant to avoid any indirect annoyances. The vision of the Doctor shifted from side to side as the imagery of the locals filled his mind's eye. The boiling of soups and the countless varieties of fish seemed to be the popular meals within the area. Despite being above average in dialect and social skills surely this girl possessed some form of normality and conformity. It was decided then. The Doctor's pace fell into place as he stepped forward and tapped his cane with each step providing a subtly rhythm. "Here seems as fine a stand as any..." He slowly etched out as he turned to one of the somewhat busy establishments.

The usual Asian food stand design held strong within the village. Due to the Doctor's hight even entering under the low awning. The now hunched over, grim, beaked figure shuffled forward to find a comfortable seat at one of the stools. The sign on the front had read, "Sushi, Meat, and All You Can Eat" so perhaps he had made the right decision. The man behind the counter looked over to him with a worried expression before turning his attention away as if avoiding the strange man all together. "Order as you please... but do respect a budget..." The low volumed beak let out as it looked over to Colle. The beak's trance turned back to the man and the objects behind the counter. From Cain's hight the normally hidden contents behind the bar lay before him in plain sight. The grill rested with much sizzling meat, Interesting, the temperatures used to rid the meat of a disease and chemicals could easily snuff out most diseases though with the proper mixture a poison or even a natural breed of disease might preserve itself despite this health precaution. Technology... flawed. The lenses fell next upon a large bin of ice containing many forms of fish, some precut and others ready to be de-boned. On the far end many bowls were stacked and ready to be served. A soapy sink could be seen nearby, A simple detergent... trully a alkylbenzenesulfonates... a fair attempt to remove dirt and other dangerous substances but hardly powerful enough... even current bacteria may survive... The Doctor shuttered imagining eating such hazardous bacteria and slowly traversed their effects on the body. How anyone could continue to eat knowing any risk was involved disturbed him greatly.

It was with heightened anticipation that Collé awaited the good Doctor to make a culinary decision, but with much surprise at his lack of interest in consumption himself. That was strange, she couldn't get past it. The man was human, he probably didn't have an opportunity to eat at the Academy... So why on earth wasn't he interested in eating himself? This deterred her from taking him up on his offer, even... It was with reluctant acceptance of peculiarity that she continued to do so. After all, Collé was starving, she wasn't about to pass up on a free meal, even if it was a reserved one. His choice was something she couldn't help but be pleased about. Though Collé had never taken a particular interest in the redder, bloodier meats of the world, she had certainly liked the option of seafood. Their approach was quick, urged on by Collé's light step past a few people. There was a line, but that wasn't a concept she was aware of at the time, so she proceeded to step immediately to the front. This caused a sense of dismay out of people behind her, but it was settled briskly when she didn't pay any attention to them. Nobody had any interest in starting conflict with a barely adolescent girl carrying a Violin, and Collé was startlingly oblivious to the matter as a whole... She had never stood in line before in her life, and her ears lay deaf to the matters of those behind her when her eyes were so taken with the hot food being prepared in front of her.

It seemed a simple operation. "Whatchewantin'?" a slurred syllabic sentence took Collé aback with startled lack of reply, the gruff inquiry originating from a hatted and old chef who seemed rather displeased with his profession. She responded quickly, but not without confusion in her voice. "Er...U-uhm..." Collé let a few words of loathed confusion escape her before making sense of the question that had been asked of her, "I'll take some Sushi, with red rice please..." The man raised an eyebrow, before shrugging and dumping it all onto a single plate. When he slid it to the other side of the table that separated him from Collé, she reached out for it. As her hand moved forward, it was immediately pulled back from under the lay of a knife that came down, creating glimmered iron wall between her hand and the plate of food. "Ya payfer' that!" He yelled, preparing another plate and glaring at the confused girl with the strength of age and anger's provisions. She curtseyed quickly, uttered an apology with so very much nervousness that it could barely be heard, and quickly made her way to Cain. "I h-have to pay for the food now." Collé said, cutting off the beginning of her sentence before properly aligning her words, sans the nervous tone she had carried with her, "Before I touch the plate..." She didn't want to lose a finger, and wasn't sure if she had caused some nature of legal dilemma. Whenever spoken to in such a rough tone in her domestic life, Collé had been in serious trouble, of a deep and foreboding nature. In this case, she feared similar.

Cain watched the rather rude and violent display as it panned out between both Colle and the ignorant man. The gruff and slurred words held a heavy reminder of Colle's vocabulary and education that in the local culture beaconed. Her swift motions towards him also brought his glass view to the girl and back to the disgusting being behind the counter. The robed arm of the figure slowly reached up towards one of the two knobs aside the beak. Click... click... "Such a violent display... is entirely unnecessary..." The increased volume of the projector rang out throughout the room drawing many eyes that had avoided the estrange figured directly to its shadowy presence. The wooden details of the mask pointed towards the filth of a person. Not even worth... my experiments... his kind... will be left in the dust... The chef looked over at the Doctor having watched the girl's nervous retreat. His scowl grew as the garbled voice of the Doctor filled his ears. "Here... play the man... and let us make our leave..." The volume remained high enough for any patron of the establishment to hear. The slow movements of the Doctor seemed to make many nervous and it seemed even so troubling that a few people made their leave from the end of the line. The waxy gloves fished through the pockets of the thick robe before pulling forth a small handful of coins.

Within the pocket the many chemicals remained packed neatly underneath the few coins the Doctor possessed. With the calm release of his chakra a thin layer of Clostridium perfringens was released from its packeting and tightly contained over the metal of the coin. With the refocusing of chakra the bacteria would remain inert until the Doctor so willed its release. The coins fell out into the hand of his newest experiment offering no harm. Once relayed to the man behind the counter the invisible microscopic life forms would spread onto the man's hands and further into any future food not previously prepared for the girl. A rather harmless infection but one that would abound any connoisseur of the restaurant. The spread of the food poisoning would take only a day and after the fiasco of many villagers being poisoned by the admirableness chef's cooking would easily be traced to his restaurant. After the exchange of the money the knob was clicked back to a casual level. The girl should return with her food and the two would be on their way. "Once you finish... leave the plate on the table... and we shall make our leave... you have done nothing wrong..." The beaked figure looked down once again to the girl with a hollow emotionless display keeping Cain as faceless as ever.

Collé wasted little time in grabbing her food as Cain payed the man who had threatened her. She had made an innocent mistake, and it was a tad harsh to be debriefed on such a matter in such an aggressive fashion, but she suspected no recompense for the actions taken by the cruel chef. Instead, she briskly made her way back to a platform of a table, sitting at a cheap stool that was adjacent to it. While eating, she placed her Violin against the leg of the table carefully, ensuring it was out of immediate foot space of anyone who could possibly walk by. She had no plans of letting it get stepped on or scuffed, even though it wasn't in completely perfect shape as it was. Though it had just a few scuffs on the polished glassy wood, it was just giving it character. Collé would keep it a healthy instrument if she could help it. Her attention returned to the food in front of her, warm and ready for eating. As she ate with dignity, but not lacking the speed of someone who is hungry, Collé noticed the mediocrity of the food itself. However, compared to the bitter fruits of the harsh world outside, absent of stoves and chefs, it was the Nectar and Ambrosia. And she ate it with the cherishing feelings of filling her stomach. Rice, luckily, was cheap in generous helpings, and it was a generous helping she was given.

Her attention was on Cain, still only halfway through her plate. "I appreciate the hospitality," Collé said, ensuring that she wasn't speaking with food in her mouth, free from that barbarism early in her life, "May I ask how it is that you're not hungry...?" She had been concerned on the matter for some time, but a tad too hungry to bring the concern to attention up until then. It had also been a bit of a disappointment to know that he no longer had the excuse to relieve himself of the mask, a mask that Collé was beginning to suspect he rarely, if ever, took off. Perhaps for health purposes, maybe some nature of breathing problem. But then, he might have more trouble speaking, one would think. Collé had already confirmed a normal, intellectual voice beneath the mask, making Doctor Cain just a bit more human. Doing something just for the sake of visage was an unfamiliarity to Collé though, and she would continue to look for a reason without prying for one, necessarily. As she thought about it, she finished up the last of her rice, having already eaten the sushi. Collé finished her meal to the last grain, her hunger satisfied, but not to the point of being completely full. Nonetheless, she was extremely thankful for the meal, and as she stood from the stool, she pressed her hands together in a stunted bow. "Again, thank you." Collé said simply, smiling a little before further inquiring, "So, what goes about in this town, Doctor? Have you some kind of medical establishment?"

The girl was as unhesitant as always and with her quick step towards the counter the infection traveled ever closer. The moment the money was safely within the man's hands the Doctor released his chakra producing an invisible cloud of contamination around the man's hands and on the plates and counter in front of him. Luckily the girl had already retrieved her food and was on her way back, saving her from the infection. The beak kept its view towards the bar allowing for an illusion of focus on the girl but truly he watched the man. The not contaminated hands of the man handed out plates and prepared raw fish. Contamination complete... The Doctor's focus fell to the girl now as she made quick work of her meal furthering his assumptions. One of two things could be assumed, this girl had an overly healthy appetite or she had not eaten well in days. She was a well built girl so the idea of excess eating was unlikely. Quick eating, thorough manners, a pack of possessions, and a need for companionship. This girl raised questions for the Doctor just as he had to her.

Her question was a simple one and one he had been expected though he was unsure how to answer. His diet was a secret, his connections few, and his trust diminished. "I... ate earlier..." Not completely a lie though many would consider vitamins and nutrients hardly eating. "And your manners are appreciated..." He watched casually as the girl ate not even paying mind to the eeriness of a mask gazing down as one eats. Her food vanished quickly and was followed with a bow as equally quick. The gaze of the Doctor stretched to the man who sampled his own food and a sense of justice came to Cain. Once the girl arose from her seat the Doctor did the same as was custom to him. Her questions followed in a calm manner but it seemed they too were questions that the Doctor would have trouble answering. "I... am unaware of activities within the village... I do not travel much..." His response genuine he felt no need to explain further for his response to her next question would do just that. "Establishment..." He paused once again before turning towards the entrance and slowly making stride towards it, "Not exactly... I possess a home and a lab... I do my studies but I am not exactly... a practiced physician within the village... yet." He had completed the course not only for government grants but also to be known as a Medic and a registered Doctor. With time word of his medical prowess would get around and perhaps he would gain patronage. Customers allowed for a lesser controlled experiment, an opportunity to provide a society with a multitude of vaccines... as well as infections. "I must ask... do you have a place to rest...? Your lack of money... suggests you cannot reside in an inn. Your unfamiliarity with the village suggests you are not form here... and that pack leads me to believe you travel... or at least have lately..."

As they made their way out of the eatery, Collé felt a wave of relief to see that the streets had cleared up a little, leaving only them and a few others as pedestrians in immediate view. It wasn't as if she was antisocial, just insecure in her knowledge of the area. It was like waking in the dark, and she wanted nothing more than to light her way. However, Cain's question didn't catch her off guard. It was to be expected that eventually he would inquire as to where she was staying and what living status she actually had. However, Collé hadn't prepped a response, generally using honesty as the best policy. "I do not have anywhere to stay, apart from a soft patch of grass..." She said slowly, lacking any depression in her voice, "However, I find it an enjoyable experience so far, apart from the lack of food. My music and the company of my own senses is usually all I need to get by." Collé was assuredly not looking for a pity party to make her feel better about her life. She had already gotten past her self-wallow in hopes for something else more worth her time. Either way, she was going to be careful about her responses to the good Doctor. Collé had no interest in elaborating the entirety of her life to him, a virtual stranger. Although, she did feel a bit more connected to him than most, even though he was more shut off and less connected than everyone...

Collé suffered a similar sense of being cut off, behind the visage that music created for her. She was foremost a musician, but that was only because her personality was something she tended to avoid, the social aspects of her being. However, she was becoming increasingly interested in the man she was accompanying. "If I may ask, what provokes you to pursue medical study?" Collé inquired, a question that hadn't presented itself as anything more than a conversation starter to further questions, "You don't seem like the most social sort, as you've described based on your lifestyle... So why help people? Forgive my assumptions, but is that not what medical study is about?" These were all questions that she wasn't completely interested in knowing the answer to, but they had origins, which Collé was attempting to discover. In her journey to find out more about herself, she had become quite fascinating with finding out about other people. Although she had met very, very few since the incident two years ago that cut her off from everyone around her. In fact, Collé had only conversed with maybe a dozen people in the last 24 months, including the masked man who walked with her now.

The air of the market was hardly filled with the rumbling it had previously contained. The now near silent streets seemed and endless maze of turns and corners where as before it seemed more a beach in which the ocean of people filed through. Such movement had evaporated over a mere few minutes, it was high noon so many would be returning to their own professions and leaving the lunch rush behind. The streets and surrounding buildings now left the sounds of every foot step echoing and eventually finding itself to the Doctor. His attention remained on the girl in front of him and before long his suspicious were confirmed. She was steady in her response and well placed wording showed her lack of sorrow. She had moved on from any sort of self wallowing and allowed for her mind to explore. Admirable... Her questions that followed however seemed to send a strange note within the good Doctor, why was he practicing medicine? It was indeed to help people but in a way that no one understood. He had been excommunicated for his studies before and he knew there was potential for it to happen again. The beak looked forward into the streets and slowly moved forward cautiously followed by the rest of the dark figure.

"Medical study for the most part is to preserve life... to better the existence of human beings... these are pursuits that could be fairly assumed... I do so myself..." As evasive and indirect as the girl was willing to be so too would the Doctor, "I study medicine a bit less than chemistry... Humans... are an interesting breed... I find them fascinating..." The Doctor hardly spoke of his practices let alone his reasonings and as such he had become unaware of his third party point of view. The Doctor assumed his former pace and was quick in stride towards the general direction of his lab. It was a rather large building on the outskirts of the village. A unique European build one that was rather rare in the community where he resided. "I offer you a place to stay... My home has many rooms... you are by all means free to decline... I merely offer further hospitality..." The beeline point of view of the beak pressed onwards without hesitation as the Doctor made his way towards the outer gates. "I wish to return to my studies... if you choose to not accept my offer I suppose our business is done... and perhaps we will meet again... however if you choose to reside in one of my many rooms you are welcome to follow..." It was a rather elegant home, one of great wealth though far from a rich man's mansion. The Doctor had managed to save any wealth he had accumulated from previous grants and patronage from his old village. As he walked his right glove hovered over the left and pulled it tight against his skin by the brim that was loosely connected to the sleeve of the robe, "Feel free to take your time with a decision... My home is unmistakable... on the outskirts of town..."

Collé started playing a soft hymn of Violin as her temporary counterpart spoke. She wasn't playing loud enough to disturb conversation, merely accent it a little. His perspective of medicine was interesting, to say the least, but lacked the elaboration of further motives, something that Collé noticed. She didn't inquire further on the matter, as it wasn't her job to pry, but it did allow for some personal wondering. "Chemistry..." She spoke simply, still playing easy measures of soft music, "I know very little on the matter. Perhaps you could educate me sometime..." She was always looking for a new channel of knowledgeable worth, and this man seemed to have powerful potential to be such a channel. She was dancing a tad as they walked, but it was with great surprise that she heard his offer of domestic stay. This was not peculiar int he culture, offering a home for someone in need, but Collé was in dire straits to be taking company of such from a masked man. She still knew not the identity of the murderous shadows that stole her father's life and mother's presence. This allowed her to think about the matter though... Perhaps someone with such a knowledge might know... Something...

She looked up to see that the good Doctor Cain had already planned to part, to meet at a later time, or give her the option to follow. In the middle of a city?! Collé didn't want to be left behind, and she certainly had no business in that city. She was lost in the moment, and didn't see Cain as he continued to walk. "H-hey! Wait..." She ran towards him, encouraged and kind of iron-gripped to make a decision then, "I think I want to come with you... Just for a while..." She needed a home, and his offer was too good to refuse. Most assuredly. Collé began to follow Doctor Cain, in a more skipping fashion, her music a tad more lively now. "Do you have a library sir? Perhaps a study...?" Her inquiries were a bit more childish sounding now, with more joy behind them, "A room in which I can play music? Do you know anything of acoustics?" She was bulleting questions about the domain she'd be spending some time in. There was just one more question she wanted to ask, before they made it there and she was unpleasantly surprised by the matter. "Do you have much food there?" He had spoken of eating previous, but she didn't know what a man like him ate. She was hoping it was a bit more kindly given than the food she had sought to acquire at the stand they had just been lodged at.

The Doctor's pace had broken into his usual full stride as he walked. A simple dedication to return home to his studies had came over him after helping such an interesting person. Her musical talent and cultural know how made him far more curious of the behavior and structure of the mind that fell into the line of musician. A chemical balance in the brain would surely be the cause of it and it was something he was strongly wanting to examine. Her questions flowed almost as rapidly as his did. The bullet stream of thoughts came to a screeching halt as a wave of euphoria washed over his body. The soft serenading music gave more life to his thoughts and her words as they walked. The melodic balance of the violin and her words made his responses come much more fluidly despite his rigid wall between himself and others. "I am happy to pass on my knowledge, though it will be some time before you would join me in studies." He meant no offense in his statement but merely knew that his years of study had left him with a deserved wealth of intelligence that even he could not pass on in a short amount of time.

"You are welcome in my home, you are welcome to come and go as you please. Do not fear the hour for my sleeping is strictly placed and limited. You will not disturb me." He paused before responding to any further questions so that he may simply gather himself. The song provided by the petite girl was like a drug freeing him of his mental atrocities and contemplations. As he peered from the lenses he witnessed the fading of the village, the slow decrease in the number of buildings and the rapid decrease in people gave enough confirmation for him to continue on. Before long the two would reach the gates and then it would be a mere half hour before arriving upon his doorstep. "I do possess a library... several in fact..." Her next two questions seemed to raise a problem or two for the doctor. His diet was strict indeed, his home possessed a kitchen but no staff or food. His thoughts lead him to a halt before turning to the girl as she play on her beautiful instrument. "I do not know much of music let alone specific terms... more importantly... I do not possess food within my home..." The synthetic voice cracked at the finish, "I apologize... It was inconsiderate of me to invite a guest... without nourishment... I will send for food when we arrive... please forgive my lack of forethought..." The Doctor turned once again before stepping forward, "Please let us make haste. The sooner we arrive the sooner I may send for your food."
