The main plot, and the characters involved. This is where all of that stuff will be listed.
The main plot. The two weavers of the universe are at it again. One desires the universe to be returned to the nothingness from which it was wrought. The other believes in it's creations and desires to save them.
Both have finally decided where they want this "gambling match" to occur. The planet of Auldrant has been selected for this unlucky job.
One god sets up means to destroy the planet, and the other sets up means to retaliate against the other. Both pull out the stops, even calling beings from other places in the universe to meet their needs.
Those that chose to side with the nothingness will be given to the one who would seize glory, as he was chosen to head the crusade. The one who sides with existence will have a rough time arriving on the planet, seeing as the opposing force will to repel any efforts for their side.
There shouldn't be any worry for those that get pulled into the fray. Time has stopped on whatever planet people are pulled from. They are plucked from whatever time frame that is convenient (Whatever you chose) and are hurled towards Auldrant. The effects of the travel will leave even the strongest of their planet incapacitated. Canonical Characters Tales of the Abyss: Tear Grants, Jade Curtiss OCs Here will be a list of all the OCs that have been cleared/put to use.
What kind of characters are ideal Since this is a general Freedom, you may cross dimensions. For now, I really want you to stick close to games that have close origins to tales. For example, Star Ocean, Devil May Cry, Golden Sun, Final Fantasy, and the like. We need characters that can hold their own in a fight. As for OCs, characters traveling from other worlds *cough* like GS OCs or the like are acceptable. If you're going to do an OC that is native to the land of Auldrant and happens to get pulled into the mess, try to keep the certain rules of Tota in mind. For this, you'll have to fill out an OC skeleton for EACH character you take, even Cannon ones. These must be PM'D to me so we can discuss them. I will then approve or deny them, and then they can be posted. Each Character gets ONE post in the thread. For example, I have to fill out Bio's for Tear and Jade, which will each have separate posts. There is no character limit, but try to keep up with all of the characters you take. Don't neglect because you can't handle it.

When you characters in Auldrant get dropped off, you get one of two choices. This leaves people from going "DERP HERP" about where to go. I'll be playing most of the Tota Cannons unless someone wants to take them over. The only ones I want to keep for sure are Tear and Jade.
Tear Grants and Guy Cecile - Yulia City. This is where I hope the majority of you will pick up from. The trip to Auldrant was rough. All of the new arrivals were supposed to land on the Rugnica plains. But most of them were dropped in a range from Padamiya to Northern Rugnica. So some of them were dropped off near where the Isle of Feres and the Western Isle of Hod were. They will be brought in unconscious on ship to Yulia City, where they'll be tended to by seventh fonists and Tear.
Jade Curtiss - Rugnica plains. This is where people -were- supposed to land normally. If all went well, they'd be just south-east of Engeve and found by the Malkuth Military, patrolling the area because a massive amount of seventh fonons happened to randomly gather an disperse, like someone were causing a hyper-resonance or using the key of Lorelei. From there, they'd be brought in and questioned by Jade.
Vandesdelca Musto Fende Grants - The ruined Ise of Feres THIS IS FOR ANTAGONISTS ONLY. You appear here and join Van's ragtag team of god generals/ other people.

All about the land of Auldrant. The Guidebook for those new to TotA. I'll edit this when it new information needs to be added. New information will appear in this color.
Places Towns Dungeons People Main Characters Tear Grants (Mystearica Aura Fende) A Locrian Sargent in the Order of Lorelei, Tear fits the soldier's attitude to a tee. From the outside she seems cold and emotionless. To those who know her she's a positive person who has secret soft spots. She is Van's younger sister and fought against him in his attempts to destroy the world in order to purge it from the score. Tear is a descendant of Yulia, and therefor can use her Fonic Hymns in battle.
Colonel Jade Curtiss (Dr. Jade Balfour) Jade is the leader of the 3rd Division of the Malkuth Imperial Forces. On the battlefield, he is an excellent strategist. Known by many of his enemies as the Necromancer, he is feared and renowned by many. Jade has mastery of the first through sixth fonons, and has even gone as far as enhancing his eyes to better control the stream of fonons. Many in Malkuth know that Jade is usually the right hand of the Emperor. Most of his missions stem directly from his majesty's lips. He was the one who first developed Fomicry, and later started extensive research into it. At the age of 24, he barred the use of fomicry on living things and gave up the research.
Historical Figures
Other Important People Peony IX The current ruler of the Kingdom of Malkuth. He's a benevolent man who strives hard in order to help his people. He's known to be quite silly on occasion, especially if his best friend Jade Curtiss is involved. Though silly Peony may be, he is an extremely wise ruler having even offered political advice to Princess Natalia on their first meeting.

I still plan on using Symphonia-based OCs. :3 Though I'm debating who, exactly, and whether or not I feel like making new ones. Though I'd use her, I'll bet everyone's tired of seeing Azriel all over the place. razz
There's just something that confuses me greatly. So...could it be said that Auldrant doesn't have mana? I mean, from what I remember...[spoiler'd just in case]Ratatosk rewrote the laws of nature so that life no longer depends on mana[end spoiler]...so they wouldn't die, but it's still needed for magic, right? I just wonder, would Symphonia-based characters just be unable to cast, or would they be able to until "all their TP is consumed"?
Augh, I just used phrasing like that because I'm not sure how to say it. But you get what I mean, right?
Oh, and how people get to Auldrant...that going to be covered in an update?

Hmm, sounds interesting. And umm, could the Persona franchise be considered good OC's that I can use? I mean, I can think up a reasonable way that the characters I wanna use got there.

Perhaps fonons could be essentially similar to mana for the purposes of magic? This sounds nice. Sign me up! Ah, to do a fonist or a FF red mage...

Ahhh. Yes. How they get there will be covered in an update in a bit. Doing it slowly prevents my brain from fizzling out. One step at a time business?
Yes, I think the Persona should be fine. As long as you don't make them summon their persona for every little battle move. They do have regular weapons, you know.
I always figured that fonons and mana would work the same way. For example, Asch uses Fonic artes, but Fonons are essentially the same as mana. So It'd be like drawing the Mana/Fonons you need into your body to cast. The only problems they might have are Ice and Lightning spells. You'll have to draw in different fonons for those. Lightning and wind are related, and Ice and water are related. So that might take a little practice.
