Well, they talk about invoking Manon, a spirit. Then when they're sat dining they're looking at a book and I noticed that it said "Initiation" and there was a picture of the god and goddess.
I suppose the film's a mixture of witchcraft, Satanism, Pagainism, Wicca and the Occult.
Thing is, since it's near Halloween, me and a friend watched it. And it brought a lot of confusion to me, so any help?

The Craft is a work of fiction- they had a witch on staff to have some kind of reference, but Manon was made up for the movie because they didn't want to offend anyone by using a real god.

So in other words, it's fiction? Nothing like wicca at all?

Yeah it's fiction. Though I wouldn't doubt some people out there act like they do. But it's only around for the money and entertainment value.

Rachel The Squidray Saw it once or twice. Can't really say I enjoyed it sweatdrop The acting wasn't very good. The only good part was the eye candy in my book.

I enjoy it, though I like Practical Magic better. There are definitely parts, in both, that make me cringe. One thing I like about The Craft is I think that they captured the group dynamic well (before things went bad for the girls).

On the contrary, there were elements of the film that were true to witchcraft and its practices. It was a three star movie, and it highlighted the karmic law very nicely. I have seen it a few times and I do like it. Of course it's littered with special effects and sparks so to speak, but a neat movie all the same.
