Last time, Ixchellia had been the one taken shopping with their Mom whilst Sanqui was dropped off at their grandparent’s and aunt’s house (until she reminded Tori to go back and get him at the end of their trip, of course. Or so she saw it, as her responsibility to her twin. She didn’t like being apart from him for overly long periods of time. Things got oddly quiet and weren’t ever as much fun without Sanqui around. It would never do if they accidentally left him there!)
So today, apparently, was her brother’s turn to do the shopping thing and her turn to visit the rellies. Ixa didn’t really mind…she loved having more people to play with. From what Qui had told her of his previous visit, Grandparent’s place was a lot of fun~. He’d even found treasure in Lucifel’s room while he made a new place for bed monsters to live!
And yet, the small girl couldn’t help feeling some amount of regret at missing another shopping spree. There had been so many neat and different clothes! She was sure she could find more she liked. Still, they were already here now so that was that.
She swung her mother’s hand to and fro lightly as she held it, her hand clasped neatly in Tori’s as they walked up to the front door of the house. This morning she was wearing one of the new outfits she had picked out last time – a light lavender dress accentuated with frothy white lace trim and a plum coloured satin ribbon, with two matching purple sandals that had flecks of glitter in them strapped onto her small feet.
The rubbery sandals tapped lightly on the path with every one of her steps and she sang a song about animals under her breath, her voice soft and sweet. “…and the seal pup slipped off his ice and said…look - there’s a fish unner-neath my bed…and the fish said no, no don’t eat me…I probably taste much too salty~” And so on. She was making the story up as she went.

Amelia was coming down the hall with an apple in hand just as Tori and Ixchellia where stepping inside. "Hello," she said as she waved with her free hand. "Enyo is out and the parents are about," she said before she could even be asked.
Tori nodded her head softly. "Go on Ixchellia with Amelia. She knows where there is a stack of pictures books and coloring books with crayons." Because other than that she wasn't exactly sure what her little girl would want to do since she was in good clothing.
"Come on," Amelia held out her hand. "We can get you an apple first," she grinned. She loved fruit. She also knew it was rude to eat in front of someone when you hadn't offered... so she wanted to fix that right away.

Spotting the unicorn girl the instant they opened the door, Ixchellia giggled lightly in response to her greeting and raised her free hand to wave back, wiggling her fingers. “Hi ‘Melia!” she chirped brightly, following her words with a sweet smile.
Looking up at Tori, she listened carefully to what her mom said before letting go of her hand. The mention of books and crayons was all she needed to leave Tori’s side.
“Okay Mommy…I find books” Ixa nodded obediently, needing no second bidding. Hesitating a moment as she was about to walk off, she suddenly threw her arms around Tori’s legs, giving her a quick hug.
“Bye. Love you, Mommy. Have fun at shops!” she told her, wondering what shops her and Sanqui would visit. She grinned at the thought of her brother going shopping. Last time they went, he hadn’t seemed to like it much. Maybe today they were trying to see if they could find a shop he would like?
Letting go of her mother and turning away, Ixchellia trotted towards Amelia, reaching out to take the offered hand with another happy giggle. “’n-kay! Apples are nice” she replied, nodding her agreement. “You have red ones?”

Amelia gave Ixchellia's hand a gentle squeeze.
"Yes we have red apples," Amelia grinned. "My favorites are the green ones. Lucifel likes the green ones to but only because they are green," she giggled. Her ears flickered as if something had landed on them.
"What kind of books do you like?" She asked to make conversation and so that she'd know for when they got done with their snack.
She was secretly a little glad that Lucifel hadn't come bounding down the hall just yet. Her sister was overbearing at times.

She smiled at that, following Amelia wherever the older girl would lead her, with or without her hand being held. Just like a little duckling or a kitten following its mother, she trailed after the unicorn girl.
“Well…I like…” she paused to think for a minute, trying to remember the name “Fuji apples! An’ Pink Ladies. They not really ladies. You eat ‘em” she added, just in case Amelia got the wrong idea. Eating a lady? That would be silly! Ixchellia laughed and wrinkled her nose at the idea.
Watching Amelia’s ears distracted the girl for a moment as she looked on with round eyes, admiring the way they could flick about. “Why my ears don’t move like that?” she asked rhetorically, not really expecting an answer. She knew she wasn’t like Amelia and they were both different. It was simply curiosity at the differences between them.
Ixchellia lifted her free hand to her own ear and wiggled it back and forth, giggling at her actions. Somehow she couldn’t quite imagine herself with equine ears. It would look very funny.
Ixi didn’t need to think twice about the question of what books she liked and promptly gave her answers, bouncing in place while she talked, ignoring the fact she was still holding the other girl's hand. Books were always a favourite subject.
“I like alllll books! ‘Specially with pitchas. Animals, flowa’s, cooking, people, mutneys (monkeys)…oh, and clo…colourin’ books, ‘cause they’re the ones you’re ‘llowed ta draw on” she summed up, smiling widely.

Amelia let go of the other girls hand so that she could pick up the near by stool. The kitchen was a comfortable size to her but probably considered large to others. She put the stool down next to the counter where she knew the apples would be. The stool made her just tall enough to reach them a couple. "Here we go," she whickered as she handed her new friend two apples. "One for each," as she carefully stepped down and proceeded to put the stood away.
"I like horse books," she said as she took her apple and her friends hand and led them to the eating area. "Really like the ones that show them running. Blank paper is good for doodling. I am not that good though."

While Amelia went and grabbed a stool to climb on, Ixchellia stood and stared around the kitchen. Politely of course, because it wasn't nice to stare. But being at someone else's house was incredibly interesting. She learned things simply by looking at her surroundings. "You have a nice kit-chen" she informed Amelia confidently.
As her friend climbed up to stand on the stool, Ixi turned around to hold the legs, one hand either side, keeping it steady. Not that her small weight could make much of a difference if it did wobble, but it was the thought that counted.
Looking up at Amelia's words once the other girl had picked out two fruits, she tentatively let go of the stool, as though afraid it would tip if she weren't holding the legs, and grabbed onto the offered apples, juggling them as she tried not to drop them. "Ah...thank you very much." Ixi smiled, stepping out of the way so her friend could climb down. Yay, they had apples!
Polishing her apple on her dress a little, she followed the unicorn Curio through the house, linking her fingers through the other girl's as they held hands. She wasn't going to take a bite of her snack til her friend started eating first. Ixchellia was a proper lady, yes indeed. Or at least, when she wanted to be, she was.
"Oohhh! Do you have any horse books?" Ixi inquired excitedly, looking around the dining area as they walked in. She couldn't see any book cases. Well, if they had some blank paper, then maybe they could draw something. "Do you have paper? It's a-kay if you dunno how to draw...I can teach you. We can draw horses t-gether! Or do that...doodle...you said before." she offered, wondering what the difference was between drawing and doodling. It all seemed the same to her. "Sanqui an' me draw t-gether. It's fun"
