I saw an event on Facebook, where alot of people today are wearing purple, in honor of the teens who recently commited suicide, because they couldn't take the bullying anymore.
I'm not Gay, but I have friends who are. And I was bullied ALOT as a child, so I understand the pain these poor kids went through. So just for today, I'm dressing up in purple.
Please join me.

Just by coincidence, I wore purple on my black T-shirt..in the form of a tree. AAAAAnd...I will dress my avi the rest of the day in purple. AND my main is dressed in purple, too.
I knew some gay friends, AND I was bullied due to having Autism...to the point of contemplating suicide...so I WILL wear purple for them.

I was fairly certain it wasn't meant as a gay pride day so much as an anti-bullying day, and it happened to pick up those gay teens who were spotlighted in the news a little while ago. Not to be mean, but I think this day should be spotlighting anti-bullying in general. It's wrong in any form against any person, and I knew a boy in middle school who committed suicide, and his brother is now without a twin. I was bullied mercilessly growing up, and while I was never suicidal, I was basically a prime candidate for it if I had so chosen.
Sometimes, the bullies just don't realize what they're doing, and they're simply being crowd-followers. But they all need to know that their attitudes CAN have a devastating affect on other people. And yes, it's true that the ones who commit suicide make their own decision, but that doesn't leave the bullies 100% guiltless. The guy who web-cammed his roommate is an example. What he did was very illegal, and on top of that, he put his roommate on a widely-publicized spotlight which can never again be turned off. It's not one of those things that can be forgotten over time, certainly not by those people who were directly involved.
