Possession is nine tenths of the law.

Power isn't eternal. Not even for the mightiest of gods, believe it or not. They are only powerful for so long, their final years strongly relying on a magical pillar to keep their powers from fading. For gods like Atius and the rest, it was the ring that had sealed Van away. Ever since Van's release, all of the other gods have been losing their power.

Within a seven year's span of time, the word reached the ears of the mortal world. And now, many powerful adventurers are out to slay the gods - to replace them and become gods themselves. From the weakest of peasants to the most powerful demons in hell, everyone's against each other in the eternal struggle for power.

Will the gods be able to keep their thrones? Will some mortals come along and replace them? Or shall something else entirely happen? Only you can decide!

For example, the god of fertility(Atius) is a bald fat man whose pure ugliness prevents women from lusting after him. More have already been explained, but they escape me. Bio: Van's the one that got locked up and then freed and is partially the cause of this whole mess. Some centuries ago or so, he used to be a human and the one on all the wanted posters until the gods offered him a position of godhood. He lived the cushy life for a while until the rest of the pantheon got fed up with him and sealed him away. He got free, but he's staying in the human plane, realizing how boring the good life was. He's still a god though, and has been wandering with Mala and Riley ever since.
Personality: After getting a bit of a reality check from hanging around Mala, Van's become a pretty nice guy, sometimes being downright noble if the situation calls for it. He can still be pretty cocky though, and it has yet to be seen if he's actually managed to ditch the kleptomania.
Other Information: Kinda hates the rest of the gods, Atius in particular. Part of the reason he didn't return to the fluffy realm of the gods.

Bio: Vivium is the goddess of Purity, which is rather ironic considering how often her mind seems to head to the gutter. That is a trait, unfortunately, that she inheirited from her father - Atius. Thankfully, that was the only thing she seemed to have gotten from her father. Vivium looks and sounds almost like a younger clone of her mother, so not many seem to have figured out who her father is.
Personality: Polite, Soft-Spoken, Dirty-Minded, Lustful
Other Information: Vivium has been sent to try and seal Van up for good, with Mala in tow. If she cannot do that, she is supposed to find a way to make Van as miserable as possible. Whether she's willing to go to extremes for that or not is currently unknown.

Bio: Mala is an ex-priestess who helped free Van from the ring he was previously trapped in. After getting him out of her brother's body, they travelled together for awhile longer before she left the group to study at a prestigious mage acadamy. Van and Riley left, and Mala practiced magic aside from blessings and barriers. Before long, she grew to be rather profficient in offensive magic - especially if it involved the manipulation of fire. It's been two years or so since she's last seen Van and Riley, and soon hopes to reunite with the two.
Personality: Spunky, Playful, and Sometimes Motherly. Mala has also realised how little in life she's experienced, which is why she no longer wants to be just a mortal woman. Even if she doesn't become a god, she wishes to somehow obtain immortality. However, she has yet to tell Van of her plans.

She struggles to keep her power in tact at time. She doesn't care to involve herself within the god struggle.

Due to her shady past and lost memories, her power of ice is unstable and sometimes it can activate on its own.
