We are going to create our own survival guide. Post anything you would like to add, even if it's already been said. Feel free to post video's, pictures, poems, stories, facts, links, anything you feel could be useful. Preferably not the links though just copy and paste the facts and maybe a little blurb at the bottom to give credit where it is deserved. I'd like to make something reasonably printable in case there are those of you who would like to print it out, honestly I'm going to print it out and put it in a book myself.

Rule Number 2: If they start talking to you, be super polite. It can do you no harm, but if you're rude, you may wind up with trouble on your hands...

Rule Number 3: Goes with the above rule. Don't purposely insult the faeries. They will make your life miserable until you apologize and truly mean it, and even then: they might not forgive you.

Rule Number 5: If any animal starts speaking to you, assume it may either try to kill you, or give you something.

Rule Number 9: Don't walk into circles of mushrooms, the fae can steal you there.

Rule Number 10: The same goes for circles of dark green grass.

Rule Number 11: If you want to become friends with the fae, don't carry steel on you, the fae can't touch cold iron (iron that's been shaped into other things, which includes steel) and they will take it offensively.

Rule Number 12: While over running water, faerie magic won't work on you.

Rule Number 16: Goes with 14. Don't say "I'm sorry". Phrases such as these the fae find over used and thuse useless.

Rule Number 17: Goes with the above and the one mentioned. When the fae speak they mean everything they say, words hold power, so be careful what you say and listen closely to them, because they may be saying more than they let on.

Rule Number 18: Still along those lines, if you can get the fae to promise something they will stick to that promise even if it means them death, but along the way they will twist your words and generally make you regret what you asked for.

Rule Number 19: You can actually contract a fae, like a bond between you and them, where both parties have to do something for the other. Be careful though, faeries are very good at finding loopholes. Ex: You say they can't cause you any injury and then they bite you, explaining the fact that they simply chose to take injury as meaning "verbal insult" instead of "bodily harm"...

Rule Number 21: When going for walks in wooded areas if you get an overwhelming feeling of not being welcome, then leave immediately. Because the Fae probably feel threatened by your arrival, and do not want you there.

It has been said that fae cannot tell lies. They may not be able to speak something directly false, but that doesn't mean they aren't experts at twisting the truth.

I think we should include the rules one must follow if they find themselves with a faerie lover. Faerie lovers can actually be quite rewarding and wonderful but you have to know how to handle them. There are a two main rules to follow that I know of so I will list them. If I forgot anything you know off please add them to the list.

26. This is probably the most important. Make sure the faerie is actually your lover and not simply a parasite. It is actually quite easy to tell the difference. A faerie that really loves you will be willing to live with you in your own home. Never let a faerie lure you to their home even if they swear their love. Its a trap. Secondly if they are in love with you you wont waste away or suffer any ill effects. Actually you will likely have better health and luck as a result.

27. Faerie lovers will often have rules you must follow and if you ever disobey them they will most likely vanish forever. Sometimes simply not telling anyone else that they are a faerie is the only thing. Sometimes they will need a room of their own that you aren't allowed to enter, or they will need to go into the woods alone or simply need to have some privacy for a while. Make sure you respect that. Lastly sometimes they possess an article of clothing such as a scarf that they can't remove. It is important to remember never to violate those rules otherwise you will lose them. So many happy stories of love between a human and a faerie have ended badly due to these rules being broken. Don't allow your curiosity to get the better of you in these cases is the core of this rule.
