Okay, so the title is a smidge more drastic than what I really want to ask, but does band (this involves marching band too) sometimes get in the way of your life??
Like if you're on the swim team and your big competition and your UIL for band are on the same day, or a family member from out out of town is coming in for the weekend but Saturday you have to practice marching. Or even worse, you bail on a home game because you want to see one of your favorite rock bands (this is my story, and the band was Metallica), and Monday you get in HUGE trouble, and they threaten to kick you out of band for that.
So the question is, does band ever get in the way of your personal life?

All the time.
Especially when we have after school practices that can last until 5:00 or later, that cuts into my personal time for things like reading, writing my stories, and such.
I don't like it very much, but I love band too much to let go.

When does it not? but hey, I've learned to live with it,like rescheduling tests and appoinments and such.

All of the timeXD
I missed tubing with my youth group two years ago cause it was same day as band camp.
Saturdays are always a big isuue, Friends want to do stuff but i got band festivals.
I'm stuck at school mondays and fridays from 6 am until 9 pm or later, dpending on if my parents remember to pick me up at 9

Band is a major part of my life. I won't stop playing. I recently changed schools, and not to sound like a jerk, the band is at least a year behind the other school band I was in. The section I am in (Flute) tunes horribly, and the flautists constantly drop their instruments. They don't seem to care, though, which surprises me.
I don't want to sound like a stuck-up jerk, as I have repeated- I'm just... used to a better band program, I guess? xD;
Life in general has clashed with life on more than a few occasions. Band is my personal escape, really, from my life. -shrugs-

Yep, I don't have much of a life outside band. The week of a home game especially, we have about 10-12 hours of rehearsal, and many performances. It's fun, but it takes up a loooot of time.
Fortunately I don't have many other activities going on during football season, so it doesn't interfere that much. xD

Yes, all the time. I have morning practices but I still find myself not doing other things because of band. I love it so much though. Pshh, it's not an 'obsession'. /: lmao.

Le Scratch Band versus life? I thought band was life. :3 my thoughts exactly mrgreen my friends in band have approximately the same schedule as me, so theres no issue, and my friends outside band know other band people so they understand...or they should... xd

Conflicts happen a lot, recently.
But I guess that's what happens when you're as busy as me.
I've got Marching/Concert Band, Jazz Band, 3 AP classes, a "0 Period" class, a college class, 3 clubs, volunteer work at the animal shelter, flute lessons, and a community/military band going on...not to mention orchestra later this year.
AND IT'S COLLEGE APPS SEASON.

I think you're pretty lucky if you only go until five emo

Band gets in the way of everything, but I love it too much to let it go. It is life. Music is life. Or at least, it's the only life I've ever known.
