If your siblings are really stealing your stories to turn in as their own homework, you should tell your parents and/or your teachers. That's 1) not fair to you, and 2) academic dishonesty and plagiarism, and they could fail their assignments if they get caught. At the very least, maybe find a way to hide your stories, even if you share a computer with them.

Flash Drives/Memory Sticks are nifty little things. Save your documents on it instead of the computer, and then put the drive/stick somewhere only you can get to it. Like your front pocket. Or a lockbox in your room. Or inside your pillowcase. Somewhere they wouldn't really think to look. The same can be done with a rewritable disc.

Or even save it to the computer, email it to yourself, and then delete it from the computer so only you have it.

Phade is paranoid. She does these things often. Not so much to prevent theft as it is to prevent accidental loss should her computer crash, die, or need to be wiped.

I whole-heartedly agree with both Phade and Racheling, your work shouldn't be stolen, least of all by your own family. I definitely suggest either telling your family or hiding them better. After all, the worst thing is when something you adore gets taken away from you.

Anddd welcome to the Journals! biggrin

But how is your brother going to succeed in becoming a lawyer if he can't do his own work? He needs to learn to succeed without plagiarism. It's on him to work harder, get tutoring, do what he needs to do--it's not your fault if he fails.

It's your decision, of course, but it's a shame that you're used to people taking things from you. If your best friend can help you, that would certainly be one solution. Another is to create an email account or Google docs account your brothers don't know about and make sure they have strong passwords.

Anyway, good luck with it all. smile

Keep going with the plots haha, but try not to get sidetracked! I have a plot plug at the moment on my brain so I can concentrate on one thing at a time xD
