MACHINE-DEPENDENT Husband and wife are sitting in the loungeroom. Suddenly the husband says, "I want you to know, darling, I'm not ready to live in a vegetable state when my life depends on some machine. If that ever happens, please simply disconnect the electricity." "Okay," his wife says, and gets up and disconnects the television.
Trans.: Alano.
APARATO-DEPENDA Geedzoj sidas vespere en la salono. Subite diras la edzo: "Sciu, karulino, ke mi ne estas preta vivi en stato de "vegetalo", kiam mia vivo dependas de iu aparato. Se tio okazos foje, bonvolu simple malkonekti la elektron." "En ordo", diris la edzino, levigxis kaj malkonektis la televidilon.

You would say "Mi amas Francion." (mee awm-as Frrahn-tsee-ohn.)
In Esperanto, there is no distinction in the first person between male and female (in fact, there's no masculine or feminine at all, except the suffix "-in-" which makes things into a feminine form (like the "ess" in "princess").

The University of New South Wales (in Sydney for those who do not know Australian State Names) has announced a new certificate in Teaching Languages Other Than English.
One of the first courses (starting in April) will be Esperanto! So you can come to AUstralia and get a university and government recognised qualification in teaching Esperanto!

HOW does one say "Drop your weapons and surrender!" in Esperanto? It would be quite appreciated. ^^

mi ŝatas Esperanton ĉar ĝi havas la potencialon esti universala lingvo.
[I like Esperanto because it has the potential to be a univeral language].
I don't know the grammatical structure of Esperanto, I used a translator. I would like to study the language sometime though.
