Ahh, College. Some people say that those years are the best of your lives, and for some, that much can hold very true. It's a time for personal expression, to learn who and what you really are with not as many restrictions that once held you back. It's a time for love, loss, and learning, inside and outside of the school. For some, these brief years are a life-changing experience, a time in which they find out more about themselves and the world around them that they could ever dream of.

And for two siblings, the experience will certainly be life-changing, but for all of the wrong reasons.

Meet the Beatty family. A relatively normal American family residing in Michigan with a salary-man father, a working mother, and two twin children--a boy and a girl. Nearing the ripe age of eighteen, as well as the exciting change from High School, both siblings find that they have been accepted to the rather prestigious Rosemark College in New York on partial scholarships; one on arts, the other sports. Disheartened that the other had been accepted to the same academy (after all, the appeal to going to a school so far away would be moving away from home and a very vexing sibling), the two fought almost constantly.

"You think you have it so easy! You jock! I had to work to get in; it's not fair, it's just not fair at all!" Complained the girl.

"Oh, you think it's so easy for me?! I gave blood, sweat and tears for this, and you just sang, and danced around, or painted!" Rebutted the boy.

While the twins threatened to rip each others heads off over this seemingly-minuscule problem, something happened that, at first, didn't look to change a thing: their aunt died. Pausing just a moment to mourn and assess the final wishes of a deceased relative, the woman's last will and testament looked to have been newly revised--perhaps only days before her rather sudden death--to include the twins. However, it wasn't without certain stipulations.

"Your mother and father have told me that both have you have been accepted into Rosemark College. I'm sorry I couldn't congratulate you personally. But I've heard something that worries me, and that the two of you have been fighting since you found out. That's not good, for a brother and sister to have so little love for each other that they can't congratulate each other. It concerns me. So my final wish for you two is for you to be happy of course, but I don't think that you truly can be without being happy with each other.

"Your uncle--bless his soul--was a very generous man, and left me extremely well off. Unfortunately, I can't take that all with me, because it wouldn't be of any use. So I extend that fortune to you, but at a price. I want you two to learn to respect one another, and get a little entertainment in the afterlife. You two will be switching places, living life in the others shoes if you will. Brother will become sister, and sister become brother for one school year, and convince those people that they are, in fact, the other twin. After the school year, we will find out who kept up the best facade, brother or sister. The winner will be rewarded.

"Don't think that your aunt is not smart, though. While I can't monitor you myself, I can have others watch you within the school walls, and if you so much as hint at what is really going on, the contest will be over with, and neither will be rewarded. So we will see how well the other can learn to understand the other. Simple arrangements have been made, including the missing part of your tuition's paid for the first year. You may tell one person you trust of this secret collectively, and one person only; make sure it's someone that won't reveal your secret.

Good luck, and I'll be watching."

A new city, a new school, possibly a new life, and the twins would be living as their sibling--as the opposite gender--and keeping up that facade for an entire year. Was that even possible?!

Rosemark College, located in the heart of New York is a school not without quite the reputation. Established almost one-hundred and fifty years ago, countless members of society have passed through her gates and have emerged upholding citizens of the greater populous. With some of the brightest minds both learning and teaching at both the high school and university, the faculty boasts professors and teachers from all points of the globe. Logically, however, not just anyone can attend, and certain standards--academically and financially--must be met.

The college is separated into two large sections, accommodating both male and female students of all three years. General courses such as Mathematics, Sciences, English (not to be confused with literature class), Civics and Literature are all co-ed, meeting with both the male and female students. However, courses in the arts, as well as any health and fitness classes are separately male or female-enrolled, with a teacher of the same gender. These classes include any kind of courses not encompassed in these general classes, however have been known to include somewhat centralized pieces (such as Classic Literature and Geology to give a few examples). Rosemark Academy does believe in male and female interaction, however does its best to keep this from being a distraction.

This rule was adapted only three years ago; before then, Rosemark Academy was split into single-gender classrooms. The university, however, has always been a co-ed establishment.

Students are housed within dorms, in which rooms can be shared with up to three people if desired. These are located off-campus, a few blocks away, where the original university used to be housed (this was later rebuilt in 1975, and the old buildings converted into these dormitories). They are single-gender dorms; the punishment for finding a person of the opposite gender in a dormitory is immediate expulsion, no exceptions. The commons--found in the main building of the university--is open until 10pm during the week, and midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. There are four dorms total for each gender, and your dormitory and room assignments will be given to you after your orientation.

Uniforms are to be worn in classes at all times, and kept in good condition. Open blazers are not looked down upon, however shabbiness is. Attire outside of class or during after hours is completely up to the students.

Clubs and teams will meet after class time or during weekends. These, too, are divided depending upon gender. After every competitive sports season, there will be a game pitting the boys' team against the girls'; the winning team will receive a prize for their gender's dormitories and all members. These will be announced quite a bit ahead of time.

((*NOTE: If the name has a strike through it, that means I have received a profile for this character and it has been taken. If it looks like this: [[**blank**]] then it is reserved and I am waiting for the profile. If I don't receive the profile within two days I will put the option to be that character available again. I hope that made sense, lol.))

Reservation code:

Hi, I am [b][color=posting color1][[insert Gaia name]][/b][/color].
I want to reserve the position of [b][color=postingcolor2][[what position in the RP you want]][/b][/color].

The Beatty Family

[[**THE MALE TWIN**]] The older of the two twins by little more than a few minutes, his luck came about from a sports scholarship to attend Rosemark College, and unlike the rest of the student body, he is a "commoner", a member of the middle class. Due to a rather strange turn of events, he will be living the next year at school posing as his artsy sister.

THE FEMALE TWIN The younger in this set of two, she isn't one to just dismiss off as a simple bookworm. Paving her way to Rosemark College through an art scholarship, like her brother she is also a member of the middle class, a "commoner" among false royalty. Over the next year, her theatrical skills will be put to the test, as she will be posing as her athletic brother.

Boys Side

THE LIAISON Aah, the woman. A rather strange, somewhat misunderstood species by the opposite gender. At times an extremely elusive and confusing creature. However, there is one that knows them all too well, the playboy of the campus. If there's anyone to give advice about women--particularly how to ensnare one--it would be him.

THE FOREIGNER Having a teacher come to Rosemark from outside of America can be quite the buzz, so you can imagine how much commotion there was when the student body found out that a student was enrolled that didn't hail from their shores. Just where exactly will he fit in, if at all?

THE FRIEND How did you get wrapped up into all of this in the first place? You got accepted into Rosemark College, and that was how you inadvertently met them--the Beatty twins. They're good people, sure, but now you've been thrown into their little game, sworn to keep their secret... well, a secret. But will you?

THE SEMPAI Having attended Rosemark College for two years now, he is enrolling for his final year at the academy, with either bittersweet feelings or not. Previously quite the active individual in student council as well as many other extra-circular clubs and organizations, he seems to be the rather responsible, reliable kind of guy. But is he really..?

THE OCCULTIST There are aliens among us, the dead float about and keep a constant watch on their loved ones, ESP exists (you have it, after all), and above all, vampires hate gar--wait, what? I'm sensing apprehension in your aura, and no one seems to believe you as you spew out nonsense about their inner eye. But whether or not you can actually see the future has yet to be seen. By other people, at least.

THE GRADUATE Four years certainly came and went, didn't they? Perhaps you have some life-long memories of events passed, and maybe not, it's hard to say. But everyone's college experience has to end sometime, some just find it harder to let go. Hey, the world is a scary place, and besides, when you had so much fun at college, then why leave?

THE CLOWN Your somewhat typical happy-go-lucky, very metro-sexual (someone who acts like, but may or may not be homosexual). He's the jokester, the first guy to pull some kind of silly prank or make a joke to or about someone. Most people think that life for him is all grins and giggles, but there's a darker side painted behind the crooked, smiling mask. And who just knows when--or if--that mask will crack.

THE DELINQUENT Sticking it to the man? Hah, how boring; everyone seems to be an anarchist in their own way nowadays. And quite frankly, they don't wear the look well. This guy is the real deal, the sort of guy that people really have come to fear, and whether or not he's really misunderstood... well, no one has really wanted to stay around long enough to find that one out.

Girls Side

THE PRINCESS Daddy bought you a nice, fancy yacht for your birthday this year, but you had to take it back because it wasn't the exact color of pearly white that you wanted. That's just how life is for one of the richest residence of Rosemark College; you're kind of a brat. And by kind of, we mean very much so. You also seem to have a huge thing for one of the other students(oh, they're so cute, they have to be yours).

THE FOLLOWER "Yes, ma'am!" "Anything you say, ma'am!" Is it possible for anyone to adore someone more than you adore THE PRINCESS? Hah, hardly. You two have been together since you were children, and you wouldn't have it any other way. You've always followed her around like a little puppy, and you are the original. Those other imitators have issues.

THE ADMIRER You're the other girl that follows THE PRINCESS around as if you were her pet. A new friend of the two, in your eyes the three of you go together like peas in a pod, hanging on her every word. You aren't exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer, but you get along fine without smarts.

THE GOSSIP See that little black book in her bag? That's full of the names of every student and faculty member of Rosemark Academy, as well as in-depth information about each one of them. Hey, it's a hobby, and a rather profitable one; you can sell the information and the photos you take for big money, and stuff like that is in high demand. If you say anything about someone, she will know.

THE ATHLETE Ever since you were young, you've had energy to blow on something, and you were lucky enough for your parents to enroll you in T-ball at an early age. Since then, anything kinesthetic has you completely hooked. You're a bit of a drifter when it comes to clubs, however. Everyone seems so quick to recruit you, but you never stay in one place long...

[[**THE WALLFLOWER**]] You have always been content with just observing people from afar, watching life like one big cinema as it passes you by. Some people think that you're a little dim-witted and slow because of that, but that's all right; they just don't understand. Very few people do. Life is more interesting when you take the time to slow down and watch it develop, or at least that's what you've told yourself.

THE INNOCENT Hey, everyone has one, the childlike innocent friend that seems to radiate sunshine and unicorns and rainbows. Sweet as apple pie and quite a bit naive, you're likely the baby in the family and well protected by many older siblings. Despite themselves, people think your adorable, and you make friends very easily. But is there something somewhat rotten underneath the sweetness?

[[**THE YANKEE**]] Different-colored hair, the latest fashions straight from Paris, and a little of a rougher way of speaking; no one would ever figure that mommy and daddy are rich, and she most certainly isn't new money. This one's a real firecracker, she is, and getting close to her threatens the person to get burned. But just what exactly is stoking the flames?

˚Please observe the Gaia ToS, as usual, and presumable.
˚This is an literate guild, so I don't need to tell you that this is a literate roleplay as well. That mean use proper punctuation and spelling, and post at least two or three paragraphs, and no more than 10 That is actually a little overwhelming for me, so please no novels. I understand one liners, and I understand an introduction post running a little long, but not every post should be only a paragraph or a whole page. Am I coming through clearly?

˚PM me a reservation before you send a profile. The code can be found above, in the same post as the description of the roles. Fill it out completely, and read closely. I have to see an example of your post before you will be accepted to determine that you are, in fact, an advanced lit. Title them You Just Never Know.
˚PM me the completed profiles. Do not post until you have been accepted. Title the PM Chocolate Dipped
˚Cussing is allowed.
˚Romance is HIGHLY encouraged, but not required. Cybering is expressedly forbidden. Time skip and save the kiddie's eyes, and your account.
˚No God-Moding. violence is allowed. No killing.
˚No powers. We are all human.
˚You can have up to four characters per account, no more than that though.
˚I have the right to change and add to the rules if I need to.
˚I have the right to establish moderators.
˚HAVE FUN!!!
