Storyline
The current year is unknown.
All that is known is that back in the mid-21st century a large upheaval occurred. A meteor was predicted to strike the planet within the next ten years. It was predicted that all life would end.
The next ten years degenerated immediately into complete chaos. Governments collapsed and people died. The world's nuclear arsenal fell into the hands of those who were powerful enough to take it.
A nuclear war broke out of the mix. The entire world burned in a single day. The few to survive hid below ground, hiding from the light of day. Ironically enough, the promised meteor never hit the Earth, but the face of the Earth was irreparably changed. Due to the nuclear war, all forms of society and culture were flattened overnight.
Due to the explosions, not even the land itself was spared. The seas rushed in, and most of the land on Earth was flooded. Most of those who went underground drowned as their bunkers filled with the water from the sea. Those few bunkers that weren't drowned outright sat still in a cluster, waiting for the nuclear fallout to disperse. They waited a long time.
After a long time, they finally came out of hiding, as the water cleaned the island of radiation. Soon enough, civilization flourished again. Cities were built, and the island soon became a bustling world population center.
Over time, the island was united under one government. The government was just and fair to begin, but then over time they started growing stronger and stronger.
Eventually, one dictator took over. Known only as The Annihilator, He ruled the island under an iron fist, and not one of His subjects went against Him. He took several platoons of troops to the center of the island, where He built a large city. The city became a war factory, producing weapons and improved technology for His troops. He became a living God to His subjects, and they did everything possible to earn His favor.
Then the unthinkable happened. A group of rebels rose up and attacked the central city. Their leader got to the center of the main weapons factory after a hard fight. What he saw there was unthinkable. He knew that he couldn't let the world see what was there.
He activated an incendiary device, destroying the city and the entire center of the island. The flames were visible to everybody on Earth. The flames still burn to this day and it is believed that The Annihilator died in the flames.
When the rebel leader came back, he told no one of the horrors that existed in the city. He was the only one to come back, so nobody knew of the secrets of The Annihilator's secret city. When pressed for details as to the horrors he saw, he only spoke two words.
"War Machines"
He never spoke of them again, but legends grew. Nowadays, the War Machines are used by mothers to frighten children into behaving.
His words were written down, but the celebration did not last. Most of the island was soon rendered a wasteland due to the fires, and the rebel leader died as an outcast, held in contempt by society for ruining their island. In addition, the former army of The Annihilator soon degenerated into banditry, killing all who dared to travel out of the towns.
It has been several hundred years since then, and each town has its own system of law enforcement and authority. There is no central government. The center of the island still burns. Groups of ill-raised bandits occasionally raid through the towns with powerful weapons of the past, stealing what they can in terms of food and women. The townspeople fight to the best of their ability, but it is truly a losing battle.
However, there is a group of people who focus on the last words of the survivor. As he laid on his death bed he spoke of a device in the center of the city. A device that was made to do good rather than evil. It was meant to bring life where there is only death and to restore the waters to their rightful place. The human race would be able to expand again. However, the device must be long gone by now. After all, the fires would have destroyed the device, and time would have decayed it even if it had survived.

Basic Information
#1: This is a post-apocalyptic roleplay. It is set in the modern time. Swords are alright, but most people use guns, so plan accordingly.
#2: There are four primary cities. They are all port cities:
A: Galagia is the prime city on the coast. It is the largest of all of them. It is relatively safe due to a town watch, but it is also the most frequently attacked of all of the towns.
B: Tengalia is the second largest city. This city is run-down and rather dirty and disgusting. It is by far one of the more dangerous cities on the coast. However, the bandits do not attack there often. Still, you can lose your life to the high crime rate there, or to the various drugs that are in constant supply and demand.
C: Melangia is the cleanest of the four cities, but also the smallest. It is attacked only occasionally by bandits, but there is only one authority figure in the town. This town has the highest rate of looting out of the four due to the lack of security, but no one is willing to stand up to the bandits.
D: Selengia is the final city on the coast. The bandits don't attack it because there is nothing worth looting there. Selengia is a primarily religious city. The people who live there are Earth worshippers, who suffer penance and poverty to atone for the destruction that was unleashed upon the island by The Annihilator.
E: There is also a fifth city, one that was inland and was destroyed by the fires from the destruction of the War City. The city's name is Firalgia. The city is in ruins and is primarily used as a base for the bandits to move about in. It is the only city, standing or in ruins, not to be on the coast.
#3: There are various fishing villages and smaller towns on the coast. The cult of the Fallen Rebel is based in a small fishing village called Belagia about thirty miles out from Tengalia.
#4: Everyone's character will be an important character. Also, your character is a member of the cult of the Fallen Rebel. The leader is already taken, and that's in the name of plot device. It is not a sign of favoritism or a want to micromanage the characters in the roleplay. Members of the cult of the Fallen Rebel can come from all walks of life. There are ex-bandits, rich people, poor people, regular townspeople, and so on and so forth. Introduction

Basic Rules
The rules here are very simple.
#1: Don't violate the ToS. Please don't. If you feel a need for graphic violence and blood, this isn't the place. Go to 4chan. If you feel a need for strong sexual imagery, please take it to the PMs.
#2: Please be sure to relax and just enjoy the roleplay. Fighting over plot points or disagreements with other characters won't make anybody happy. It'll just cause sour trouble.
#3: Send your profile in with "I Will Find Eden" as the subject line.
Also add a mrgreen to the end of your profile.
#4: No godmodding, no player character manipulation, the works. I figure that if you're in this guild then you most likely know all of this already, so I'm not going to sit here and spell it out.
#5: Highlight the entire set of rules and read it again.
