The under belly of the technological city of Midgar. The city under the prosperous city above, where many people do what ever they have to to survive. Those in the slums are treated like trash by the upper districts of Midgar, and thus the reason why so many rebellious groups rise to try and fight the tyrany of Shinra from the underground.
The slums is where a lot of people, whom cant afford the high life of the upper layers, live. Its known as Midgar's slums but its a city in iteslf, comprised of many districts each named for the sector that remain over head, greedily taking the sunlight for itself.

Giglamesh came walking, pretty much power walking for the most part, trying to stay ahead of of river to avoid the conversation she was trying to have with him. He had a few cut, scrapes and bullet holes in him, but nothing that bothered him to much, they were only flesh wounds after all. But there was another reason why he was walking so fast, heading towards "The Caterwol!" the bar he and river frequented for several reasons.

"Don't you dare ignore me Giglamesh!" River said nearly jogging to keep up with his fast walk. Damnit, why was he doing this? She thought really growing angry. She then noticed her surroundings and realized where they were going.

The Area wasn't the nicest slightly crowded, many people looked like there were thugs, yet as giglamesh walked threw the street many people parted and seemed to stay as far away from him as they could. Some knew of him and his exploits, other just saw the casket like back pack and the demon skull mask he wore and kept away. But the neon lights and livable buildings made for a much better view then the war zone they just left.
Still however giglamesh wasnt saying anything, he couldn't really. River wanted to go shopping and giglamesh didnt get a single zenny, both of them need to be patched up so they were going to have to buy, or use some of the items. Thus they would have to spend money to replinish stock, which would come out of there pockets, and since nothing went in they lost money. So naturally gig was trying to avoid this conversation with river.

She finally stopped right there in the street. No longer was she goign to follow him having just lost her temper. "Brother!!" She said nearly stomping her foot she hated to be ignored, so though he hates it when she calls him that in public... too bad. She thought crossing her arms. It was a matter of pride too, she would stand her ground and force him to acknowledge her. Though the plan could completely backfire, she had to try.

Giglamesh would stop and turn to her. "Hey look a clothes shop, and there having a sale!" Giglamesh would turn back around and continue on his way, even faster this time. He did tell her they could go shopping, but this was before the loss of money for medical supplies. she always had to get the most expensive shirt she could also which made it harder, he just needed to weave threw the crowd better to try and lose her and get to the catterwol.

River rolled her eyes and turned away. "You want to be a jerk, fine." She said angrily. He would regret this, Oh yes. She thought. With a scoff she started following him again grumbling about broken promises.
Being only an hour to twilight she focused on the people around her rather than the moron before her. The people seemed to be a mix. Some let this world effect them, leaving them with expressions of defeat, others seemed to have embraced the life. Others still seemed to be unaffected. She loved to see all the different kinds of people, the different kinds of life. As she slowly, reluctantly followed Giglamesh, she began to again piece together the machine in her mind's eye. I have to see if I can find somethign later. That would be so useful for my other stuff... She thought trying to keep Gig in sight, though she knew the way to the bar.

Giglamesh would arrive at the catterwol, which was a fairly large building with a neon sign just as large. The sign said "The catterwol" and had a large skinny black cat with white underbelly, that had on a crown and a red scarf. Giglamesh would walk in and almost instantly several people would cheer at him, as they saw him come in. He would give a head nod, and salute them slightly, but he went walking threw the room to a specific table close to a door to the back room, and sat at a chair that was turned to the wall. At the opposite side of this table was a chair with a Tiny little old woman with a large blond hair poofing out the back of her tall hat. Giglamesh just sat at the table across from her, didnt ever look at her just looked out in to the bar. "So...i got the target but" The old woman would slam a bottle down on the table. "I already know.....you made a sceene....you didnt take the money, you got shot up by a dispatched shinra unit...." Giglamesh still didnt look at her but with his one eye he would glare out in to the room. (expression -___-) "I wonder why i bother talking to you some times...well the shinra unit.""Was the First Response unit, Might i add.....you didnt do to bad against that Prototype mecha ball they deployed, took you a bit to see threw its overheating flaw though...." She would pick up the wine bottle and chug a few more drinks out of it. Giglamesh had a large vein twitiching on his right temple, but he still never looked at the old woman. "...I hate you sometimes...do you just have long range camera bots, or ******** shadow ninja's following me!?...never mind i dont wanna know." Giglamesh would reach up and pull his hat off setting it on the table, and he would finally turn to the old woman. "So where is she?"As he removed that hat, that was the sign he always had for her. She would turn away from him and knock on the door to her right, then as she did the door opened. As a little hand grasped the side of the door and pulled it open and struggled to open it a tiny little girl, around the age of three would come running out around the table, she wore a beautiful pink kimono, with purple and white flowers depicted on it. She had brown hair pulled back in to two very short pig tails, which caused them to poof out. She would run over and literally leap in to giglamesh's lap. "daddy!!!"Giglamesh would lean foreward as she ran around the table and catch her as she jumped in to his lap, and he and her would give each other a big hug. "Can daddy have a kiss?" Giglamesh would look at her smiling. Mai would give her father a kiss from child to parent, smiling heavily. but then she would get a unhappy look on face. "daddies all bwoody!" Giglamesh would get shifty eyed, get it "eyed" cause he only has one hahaha. He didnt know how to respond, but then he would point to river which should of been close behind. "Look there's auntie rivet!" Obviously trying to change the subject.

River followed Gig slowly into the bar keeping the look of irritation on her face. The only reason she was there was to see her niece. Passing the others she ignored any looks, and or reactions. She focused only on the back room and the one who ruined her mood.
She leaned against the door frame and smirked hearing the woman speak. It was indeed thanks to him they had gotten no pay, also thanks to him she missed the opportunity to study such a beautiful machine. She knew deep down there was no chance there would be a thing left from the clean up crew. Wishful thinking on her part. She also knew the odds of her being able to recreate a thing from her small observations was small too. Gah... She thought getting annoyed again. And then he ignores me, and breaks his promise... She thought tightening her glare, balling her fists.
OOOo camera bots, that's a good idea. She thought before she saw Mai enter the room. Seeing little Mai's grin to her father, River couldn't help but smile too. Mai could light up the room with her cheery personality. Having heard her name River gave Mai a wave and widened her smile trying to hide the foul mood she was still in. "Hey! I think Daddy here is going to let us go shopping! Would you like that Mai?" She asked giving a wicked grin.

Giglamesh would glare, and lift Maiyuri up on to his lap, against him, kind of hugging her by wrapping his arms around her. That was just fighting dirty what she did, and she would get pay back for it. Maiyuri would lean against gig and lean her head back to look at up at him. "We gonna go swapping daddy?" She had a look of excitement on her face. Oh yes she was going to pay and pay dearly for this one, giglamesh would look down at her, seeing the look of joy on her face he couldn't bring it in his heart to say no to her. He didnt say anything, but he couldnt say no either, if they went shopping they might no be able to eat, but even still he couldn't tell that cute face of hers no.
The only woman placed the sleeve of her kimono over her mouth. "Fu fu fu....She be your one and only weakness, by your....reluctant tone i can tell, your money is ....short. Which is why im glad to inform you a "Anonymous" benefactor donated some .....funds to you because of what happened with the FRU....Needless to say they were happy with your results." With that last pause she would slide over a sack of money, across the table to giglamesh.
Giglamesh would reach over to the bag and look inside, and he was shocked, it had to be near or over two thousand zenny. He looked at the old woman to make sure that was right, and she wouldnt only nod in approval. Gig would look in bag again, cause that gave them some money to actually get some things they wanted. Giglamesh would take five hundred Zenny out and put in in the pouch on mai's kimono and set her on the ground standing. "So...you lucked out rivet...you get to go shopping after all...do not! spend it all on clothes you need to resupply your "Pineapple" supplies....Im got some business wit Sar." Giglamesh would pat mai on the top of the head, grab his hat putting it on pulling the bill low over his face. "Take care of mai....ill see you back at base." Giglamesh would lean over and kiss mai on the top of the head, and he would take his casket put it on his back like a back pack, and walk out of the bar, and start walking to saral's shop.

River gave a smile and a wave then heard the woman give her laugh. Man that always hinders plans, somehow. She thought and saw the sack of money. He was a dork sending the other money away and he gets this? What the hell! She thought annoyed at his good luck.
Seeing Gig's face she knew it was a good deal of zenny. Also knowing that Mai's money pouch held little this would totally not be enough to get the whole list. She sighed and nodded scowling a little hearing that man's name. He was kinda weird, creepy even. River thought still irritated. You two are a match; complete dorks. She added to herself trying not to show her reactions on her face. Before she could ask how many grenade supply's were needed he left.
"Good riddance." She muttered then glanced back at Mai hoping the toddler did not hear her mutter. "So you ready to go shopping Mai?" She asked with a smile offering her hand to her niece. It's been a while since the two of them did something like this, so this would be fun. Glancing at the elder woman River bowed respectfully and smiled saying her farewell.

Giglamesh would continue threw the crowd of people in the street, merchants trying to sell there items, prostitutes trying to draw in clients, clowns making balloon guns....wait no that was a weird one. Giglamesh would continue threw, much like before people would stray away from him because he was intimidating wit his skull mask, and massive casket on his back. Not to mention giglamesh was a freakishly tall giant standing six foot eight inches tall. Giglamesh would stop at a dark alley way and look around, because it was a grimier area there went many people but a few nuke addicts (its a super addictive drug which will come in to play later a few times.) but they were so zoned out, he was pretty sure they didnt know where they were let alone remember what they saw. So giglamesh would turn down the dark alley way, littered with junk, and damaged vehicles and bots.
Maiyuri wold almost give a squee of excitement, she was female after all so shopping was a wonderful thing. However she kept her left hand over the money gig put in her pouch she wasnt going to give it to rivet cause she knew how she spent money, which was why gig was the person that kept the money, even a three year old knew this. She would hold out her right hand to take rivet's hand to walk with her, because her father always held her hand, when he didnt carry her.

River glanced at Maiyuri wondered how much was in that money pouch. "So where to first Mai?" She asked, wanting to pick up a new shirt. Mai could use another outfit too. Plus if Mai was the one to suggest going clothes shopping, Gig wouldn't be so irritated the money was spent unwisely.
The setting sun left this place with a strange beauty. Almost erasing the cruel feel to the place, giving a brief feeling of peace. River kept a firm grip on Mai's hand as they walked down the street. Both stores they needed were in the same area, so hopefully they could go to both places.

Rivet was asking holding her right hand, and she had her left index finger in her mouth chewing on it slightly trying to think over the extreme difficulty of the question of where to shop first. "....daddy said he wanted pinewaffels so we got to the pinewaffle storezzz." Ahh the splendor of being young and have nobody have the slightest clue of what your talking about.

River inwardly sighed but she nodded. Clothes would come later. With all the practice she had been getting in lately with her grenades, she ran out of supplies quickly. 20 would be enough for now, but that would cost 440 gold, which means the clothes were not going to happen. She could try to haggle, but the people in this town were hard to convince. "Sounds like a plan." She said reluctantly giving River a smile leading the way to the item store. The path there was a twisted one. There were other stores that had these items, but there was one specifically that had better metal for the containers. "Stay close." She reminded Mai keeping her close.
