Chapter 22: Sunrise and Moonfall
The Guild of the Sun lapsed into a pleasant haze for the next few weeks. It was business as usual with missions to be done and bounties to catch, but otherwise peaceful with no sign of attack or trouble. Naturally, this was not to last for long.
In the sky an eclipse was enfolding the region in a calm darkness, one of the few natural eclipses that occurred throughout the years.
“Where are you going, sister?”
Selena looked up in alarm at the one-tailed Espeon perched on the windowsill near the door. Since their meeting with Arceus, Solaris had been in a foul mood. This mood had grown steadily worse when he realized his war with Selena before had had no purpose. It had been revealed that she’d not meant to kill Jupiter, but had panicked when the accident occurred and fled.
To make matters worse, he could not maintain his grudge at her upon finding out she was going to be a mother soon! With one of his old guild members no less!
After the initial remarks of ‘Isn’t he too young for you?’ with a retaliation of ‘you’re not my father!’ the two had settled their disagreement by ignoring one another for the next several days.
But now, his curiosity had been sparked at seeing her attempt to leave the guild through the large wooden double doors.
Selena rolled her eyes at his nosiness and swished her tail indignantly.
“I am going to retrieve my egg from the Palace of the Moon. It is due time for it to hatch and I want to be with it when it does.”
Solaris snorted, “I don’t see why you didn’t bring it with you to begin with.”
“We were heading into battle with a Mewtwo, Solaris. I wasn’t sure if any of us would survive and I was not endangering my child. You should take lessons from me brother.”
With that she turned and stalked out, head held high while he seethed angrily at her back.
“Yeah?! Well….YOUR FACE!”

Solaris---Selena---Moonfall
Selena slipped past the leafless trees with swift speed, leaping over dead logs and dashing across the barren landscape that made the Guild of the Moon territory.
Now that she had time to see it more clearly, it was a very depressing place.
The Umbreon stepped into the stone walled palace with a grimace at the creaking door and trotted down multiple long hallways before reaching her own chambers and stepping inside. A smile graced her face at the small egg perched on her bed. It was pale-colored, seeming as though it glowed with the same soft light of the moon itself.
Selena leapt up and rolled it onto her outstretched paws, placing it in the center of a blue bandana she had brought with her.
She flipped the edges over the egg, making a small basket of fabric around it. With her unborn child secure, she picked up her parcel between her teeth and stepped back into the hall.
“The mistress returns to her castle~”
An eerily familiar voice purred out and Selena’s eyes widened when she realized the owner. She growled narrowing her eyes as the perpetrator stepped forward from the shadows and into the light that spilled from the small square windows.
“You. What do you want? Fear, was it?”
The magenta-ringed Umbreon flashed her sharp teeth in a charming smile. “Fear was an alias. My real name is Lily, but you may call me Mordred.”
“You go through names pretty quick, don’t you?” Selena sneered back, keeping a safe distance between them.
“I was named Lily by my parents, my mother is dead and I deny my father. I was called Fear for my power and how it made even the strongest Pokemon run whimpering with their tail between their legs. Now I am Mordred, for it is a suitable name for the new leader of the Guild of the Moon.”
“I am the guild master here!” Selena barked out, snarling viciously.
“I’m afraid you’ve been replaced, chica.” The other Umbreon spat back. Mordred lunged with her teeth at the parcel the older dark type carried and Selena reeled back in alarm, back legs kicking out to keep those ivory blades from harming her egg.
Behind the magenta-marked Pokemon she could see the shapes off other dark type moving in. These were not her old guild members.
“Eh heh, dark meat with a deviled egg on the side!” One Mightyena sang out and Selena’s heart sunk. She had to get out of here. Even if she could fight all these Pokemon, she had her egg to think of.
Before she could turn around an Absol leapt forward with sharp claws flashing and the Umbreon royal closed her eyes and braced for the pain that never came. She looked up to see another Umbreon with the black and yellow natural colors of a normal Umbreon, but that was where the normal aspects ended.
He turned, eyes the same pale blue as the sky meeting hers.
“Run.” He commanded in a young voice, obviously around his twenties. Selena didn’t need to be told twice and was quick to take off. The sounds of fighting roared behind her and she winced in sympathy for her unknown savior, thinking him dead, but as she tore off across the border to the Guild of the Sun territory she turned to see him running at her side.
There was no time for questions, she had to get her egg to safety and speak to her brother and family about what had occurred.

“Selena! What in the name of Arceus are-“ Solaris had jumped in fright when the doors swung open and his sister charged in. He was hanging from the main halls chandelier as he spoke, obviously rattled.
“Something’s happened!” The Umbreon exclaimed, setting her egg down and coiling a tail around it protectively. “My guild is-“
“You are all in mortal danger.” the strange Umbreon that had helped her stated slowly, cutting off her grave news with even graver news. He swung his head as though in dismay and the large crescent moon shaped pendant suspended from his left ear rattled noisily.
Solaris dropped down to the floor, eyeing the stranger with wary suspicion. It seemed Arceus had drilled the cautiousness into him with that incident with the Celebi.
“Who are you?”
“I am ‘Moon That Falls in Skies of Blue’. You may call me Moonfall.”
An odd name, he seemed to have come from some tribe of Eeveelutions of some sort. Even stranger than his name were the golden sigils across his face and the ‘ring’ on his forehead. It was not a complete circle and broke off to form a crescent moon. His tail was odd as well, looking as though it were made of a gathering of swirls like a painter’s brush. The tip was the same gold as his rings and the rings on his two back legs broke off and extended outward like small golden flames at his heels.
“Well, ‘Moonfall’…what are you-“
“Leave him be, Solaris. He saved me and my egg from being killed by that magenta-ringed Umbreon from before!”
“Fear?”
“She goes by Mordred now and-“ A crash sounded, the windows of the main hall shattering into pieces as hordes of Pokemon poured in with Mordred at the lead.
“It is too late.” Moonfall hissed. “Prepare your tribe for battle!”
Tribe? Oh, the guild! Solaris finally caught on and tore for the alarm bell, colliding with it at the same time an Arbok slammed into his side. The bell rang loudly, echoing in the room and mingling with the spliced Umbreon’s maniacal laughter.
Moonfall leapt in front of Selena and though the female Umbreon was grateful she couldn’t help but notice that he seemed more focused on protecting her egg than her. Not that she cared, her egg was far more important, but she did wonder why this Pokemon they had never met before cared so much over an unborn child he did not even know.

 Lumon & Frost & MandarinWithin a snap of her delicate fingers, Mandarin had Teleported herself, Frost, and Lumon to the site of the battlefield, the Kirlia's eyes flickering with uncertainty.
The Psychic-type used Teleport, appearing behind a Mightyena, and using Magical Leaf, the colourful rainbow of aura-ridden leaves slicing into the Dark'type's back.
But as the Mightyena turned, his sharp, teeth-fills jaws met with thin air, and the same Kirlia blasted him in the back of the head with a Psychic.
He dropped like a stone, defeated.
Lumon used Thunderbolt, taking out a Sharpedo with ease. The massive, Dark-type shark fell to the ground with a dull thud, and the Lanturn turned, searching for another target to inflict damage on.
A Hydro Pump dispatched another Pokemon nearby, and the Houndoom he'd attacked collapsed down onto it's side, out cold from the strangely precise headshot.
Frost let out a startled bark as he was grabbed, and released a Flamethrower, badly scarring the Shiftry that had lifted him up in the first place.
It dropped him, trying to fan out the fire on it's body with burning, leafy fans, before running back out the guild doors to escape the Growlithe, who was now cowering behind a nearby curtain.

   ~ Armand~ Veronica~ Guillermo~ Two familiar members of Team Lunar Curtain entered the scene with a rather new member. It soon became obvious that there would be no need to wait around for something to happen, because it seemed as if this time, the battle had come to them! Guillermo cackled a bit, "Que chevere! Finally! Time to shed some blood~" Veronica summoned several sharpened stones from the ground and smirked at the new recruit, "Tch, just don't get yourself killed." Armand smiled, the army looked smaller by an insurmountable amount, so this battle should hardly last long at all. Itching to get the first kill on his team, Guillermo leaped at a nearby Mighteyena, slashing it straight across the face with an X-scissor, nearly decapitating it. Veronica was the next to attack, she leaped in the same direction as Guillermo, and mid-jump she fired several of her sharpened rocks at the airborne Honchkrow and Murkrow. The Stone Edge dealt sizable damage, causing a few of them to drop to the ground. Armand was the last to move, floating above the crowd of pokemon until he nearly ran smack into a large Tyranitar. "Gah!" He yelped in surprise and began to pelt the unsuspecting pokemon with a rain of Ice Punches, leaving it no chance to attack, and no chance of survival.

 NoelleNoelle's ears perked up as she heard the cries of battle and she sprung from where she was sitting and sprinted to the center of the guild, where battles usually happened. While there, she discovered that once again this 'Fear' she had heard about had attacked again. While she was on the mission in the Swirling Seas, a group of baddies had attacked the guild and war was declared. Many died. The Vaporeon shuddered at the thought of death but shook the figment away and jumped into battle. She spotted a Houndour in the midst of it all, and deciding it looked weak and vulnerable, she shot a Hydro Pump at it and dug her paws into the ground for support so she wasn't blown away by the power of her own attack. After seeing what had happened to his fellow teammate, a Honchkrow flew down and attempted to attack Noelle but before it could she attacked it back with a quick pivot and three Aurora Beams. The Vaporeon was about to attack another dark-looking Pokemon but stopped mid-Body Slam when she realized it was acutally a Lucario. She didn't know there was one in the guild, so she stopped to ask it what it was doing. Yes, it was a naïve move, but newcomers usually didn't appear in battles this early. "What are you doing here?" She asked loudly over the sounds of battling. She got a strong footing in case this Pokemon turned out to be with the evil team. [ -2 Dark Pokemon ]  OdysseyThe black Lucario once again showed up at a major battle and tried to take part but didn't know if it was a good idea or not because he wasn't officially part of a team, or the guild for that matter. He did however, land a Metal Claw on the Umbreon that seemed to be attacking everything. He was about to slash a Tyranitar across the face while he held it down, but was distracted by a Vaporeon that poked him in the back and the enemy ran away. "What do you think you're doing?! You let that Tyranitar get away by poking me in the back!" He unleashed his anger by charging up an Aura Sphere but letting it fizzle into nonexistence. He took a deep breath and sighed. "I am here for a purpose. I am not apart of this guild, but I do have a reason for being here. I'm trying to find someone. So if you'll excuse me..." He tried to move away but the Vaporeon that talked to him was keeping him here. Apparently she wanted to know more. [ -1 Mordred ]

"Holy crap!" Zelos shouted as he entered the room, the first one in from the group. Without another second, he fired a Signal Beam at Mordred.
"Right behind ya! Kids, fight the other pokemon!" Sheena shouted as she slid across the floor. "Leaf Storm!" Sheena shouted, firing a storm of leaves at Mordred.
"Already? Another fight." Kurogane laughed as he jumped ahead of the team. "Dragon Rush!" He shouted, dashing towards Mordred.
"Ha, this is going to be easy..." Jessica purred as she licked her paws. "Thunderbolt!" She shouted as electrical currents ran across her body, releasing at the tail chasing after Mordred.
"You heard her!" Julian shouted, using a Flamethrower at an incoming Cacturne. In an instant, the pokemon was burnt. "Dragon Claw!" He added, punching the burning Cacturne to the ground.
"Uproar!" Christian shouted as he ran up against an Absol. Within an instant, Absol was sent flying into the air.
"String Shot!" Diep shot out a long string shot at a Sableye, wrapping around the pokemon. Sableye dropped to the ground as Diep jumped towards it. "Bug Bite!" Diep laughed as he dug his teeth into the Sableye.
"Dragon Pulse!" Faith shot at a Crawdaunt, and without another word Crawdaunt fainted. Strange how weak they were at the moment, maybe they'll get stronger soon.

Klash had chosen a few of recruits to bring with her to see what the commotion was about. Their leader was still sleeping off the rather nasty fight he was in. Knaw had only recently hatched from his egg, but he seemed more then willing to come along. Soon they heard the sounds of conflict in the center of the guild; something was definitely going on. The battle was all around them, and Klash wasted no time jumping into the action. She nearly crushed the skull of a Sableye before moving on to another target. Scrap wielded his bone around to attack a Poochyena nearby. Knaw seemed rather confused, but just went with the program and bite at a Houndour with his amazingly sharp teeth.

Tolin, Puer and ASAR came into the hallway at a fair pace. Sam had stayed behind out of disinterest, Albus was still having earth-shattering realizations. Tolin glanced around to see Selena protected by an unfamiliar figure against Fear. She was clutching her egg... that was probably the source of the attack. " ASAR, Hyper Beam the Umbreon with pink markings that's approaching Selena." " Roger!" And so it was~! ASAR's head spun in it's usual fashion, the beam of light focusing and firing off at Mordred. Puer stood still, unsure of what to do. What could he do? He couldn't tackle people or he'd risk permanent injury. More permanent than it is at the moment, anyways. However, when an Crawdaunt leapt at him from a dark corner, he charged anyways, running the thing over in the process. It wasn't getting up. Tolin worked his way into the fray. A Stunky and Skuntank stood side-by-side and happily took aggression to the bug. And it made sense, after all; he was one of their few natural enemies. Which is what made it even more stupid. Tolin sent a mere clone forwards through Double Team, goading them both into a preemptive attack against the air. From there, it was easy to cut their throats.  ThanatosThanatos drifted idly through the wall. What was that idiot Solaris up to--... Oh. There was an invasion, was there? Well, it's not like that was any of his concern. Although the idiot Drapion going for him with it's fist raised was. " Kekeke, you don't stand a chance against me!" Thanatos floated idly around the blow and raised a dark-encased fist, smashing the scorpion down into the ground. " Don't get cocky over something as worthless as type advantage." (Hyper Beam @ Mordred Drapion Stunky Skuntank Crawdaunt)

  Acer && Crescendo The Turtwig slammed the door behind him with a giggle in Crown's face, and turned to the Milotic by his side. Cress looked worried, and stared down at Acer with concern. "The alarm." Cress whispered. "Fight! Fight!" Acer cheered, and raced down the hall, Cress following him. The Turtwig seemed to be eager to try out his battle skills ever since Incultyr mentioned starting his training. Too bad he hasn't actually done any training yet... The Turtwig skidded into the Main hall to watch the fight, and leaped directly into the fray. A Sableye was distracted, keeping an eye out for the already active fighters, and wasn't prepared for the golden Turtwig to jump onto him. Acer proceeded to nom on the Sableye's head as it ran around screeching in terror. Crescendo slithered into the room, eyes wide at the battle. He hated fighting; he has seen the various wounds sustained by Morana and Incultyr. It always hurt him to see them in such a state, and couldn't bear the thought of hurting another being. The Milotic couldn't ignore the sight of an Absol running towards Acer and Acer's opponent. The Dark-type leaped at the small grass type, only to be intercepted by an Ice Beam. He flew back, ice covered in small shards of ice. The thing growled, leaping at Cress, but the Milotic spun around, smacking it solidly with his tail. The Absol went down in a heap. Dislike of fighting or not, Cress was easily the strongest member of Team Polaris, trained or not.
"Stay here." Atra told Matthew, hearing the alarm the moment the team returned from their mission. --- Atra groaned as he skidded into the main hall. AGAIN? Whhhyyyyyyyy? Can't there be any rest in this darned place!? The Flareon charged into battle, flames leaking out of his fur until he was a little furry ball of DEATH. And the Flareon jumped onto a Cacturne, cooking the poor thing as all the water inside it started to boil and it ran around screaming in agony. Sherman looked at the battle nervously, staying back. A Murkrow flew at him, but Chase jumped off his back at the bird, crashing into the dark type. He landed on his feet, the bird's wing clamped tightly in his jaws as it thrashed. He brought forth fire to his mouth. "Zora! I told you to stay with your brother!" Zosee growled at her daughter, and then turned to see the fight. The green eevee rolled her eyes, and charged right into the fray, Zosee looking on in horror. "Wait, don't!" Zosee ran after her daughter, in time to see the small eevee jump onto the back of an umbreon many times her size. A little furball of fury. Zora went for the Umbreon's neck as she's been taught, electricity discharging from her fur. The Umbreon howled in pain as it tried to throw the much smaller eeveelution off. His thrashing was ended by Zosee as she joined the fray. Zero backed away, wrinkling his nose in disgust as a Skunktank fell from the cut across its throat. Yuck, Zero hated those things. (Killed: Sableye, Absol, Cacturne, Murkrow, Umbreon, Skunktank)

 Z E R C ASnarling, Zerca charged to battle. She'd been in a bad mood ever since... well, she thought it would be obvious. By now, she wondered if she even loved the Weavile at all anymore. All it had done was bring betrayal and heartache. Opening her jaws, she blasted a Hydro Pump at a Tyranitar on proceeded to maul it. [-1 Dark type]

Solaris---Selena---Moonfall
Selena, feeling quite useless for possibly the first time in her life, remained curled tightly around the small egg to act as a shield.
Her eyes flickered from Moonfall to Leslie, who had just appeared, and she snarled defiantly from behind them to let any Pokemon know that she was not to be underestimated.
Solaris leapt back, avoiding the claws of a Crawdaunt that snapped those pincers at his remaining tail.
Oh, hell no!
He had one tail left! It wasnt allowed to have it!
Denied of his Psychic powers he charged up a Quick Attack and slammed into the Crawdaunt with a super speed Headbutt, which in hindsight was a really stupid move as he now had a headache.
"Eh...heh..." He wobbled about in circles, dazed. "I...dun wanna be an astronaut mommy...Who painted the Skitty?"
Thud.
Worst. Guildmaster. Ever.
"Is he really your leader?" Moonfall asked a nearby Glaceon with an arched brow, clearly unamused by Solaris.
Fear howled, leaping past Lucy to charge towards the two Pokemon guarding Selena and leap nimbly over them before lunging her teeth at the Shiny Umbreon.
Selena growled, lashing out with her back legs and losing grip on her egg which promptly rolled away.
Moonfall gave a yelp and dove after it as it rolled into the midst of the fighting...just as more Dark Type arrived.

Z E R C AOh, now these bitches wanted to pick up the fight, hm? Zerca was not a reptile to be trifled with, what with her long whipping tail and powerful jaws. Only those with type advantages really had a chance and even then she wasn't going down easy. Ice Fanging two Shiftry's, she proceeded to tears them to bits with Slash. Her next opponent was an Absol which she squared off with, feigning to the right before bringing her tail around to smack him in the head. While he was dazed, she Crunched him into oblivion. [-3 Dark type]

Zori & Lumon & Frost & Mandarin"Arceus, Solaris! Would you think before you act, just once?!" A familiar Leafeon snapped, leaping in out of seemingly nowhere to defend the dazed Espeon. A Razor Leaf swiftly dispatched an incoming Pokemon, and Zori flicked the blood from her tail, standing protectively in front of the rather weak Psychic-type. Face the facts; without his jewel, Solaris was a sitting Psyduck.
Lumon used blasted an Absol away from the rolling egg with a high-powered Signal Beam, spitting fury at the idea of them trying to harm an innocent.
As he turned back to look for the egg, his heart throbbed with horror as he realized that it had already rolled from his sights.
He froze a pair of Poochyena in their tracks with an Icy Wind, and floated higher, searching for any sign of the egg.
Ah, good; the Moonfall fellow was already coming to it's rescue.
Frost spat a weak Ember at a young Sneasel, and the Ice-type winced.
"THAT'S NOT VERY NICE!" It shouted angrily at him.
Frost yelped as it scolded him. None of the Pokemon he'd attacked before had really... spoke... before. And this was was just young! Surely he could leave it be?
His thoughts were cut off as he was struck with an Ice Punch, and the Growlithe blasted a Flamethrower in the Sneasel's face, sending it fleeing from the guild, it's icy fur lit up in flames.
Rin used Hypnosis, putting a trio of Houndoom to sleep. Once they were asleep, the mischievous Kirlia used Dream Eater on all three of them. They flailed in their sleep, crying out, but were unable to do a thing about their horrid nightmares.
The Psychic-type laughed, happy to take the energy she was draining from them to help her defeat their companions.
