I wonder how long until we find out the title.
I'm guessing something like 'Chilling Climax' or 'Final Fright' or '(something with v in it) Victory'. Though, knowing the Baudelaires most likely will not have a happy ending, I doubt a victory will be involved.

Well, in respect to the title, 'The End' is capitalized in the HarperCollins e-mail. Perhaps it's The E______ End. This would sort of make sense considering book the 12th was The Penultimate Peril. Although, personally, I hated that title. Don't get me wrong, loved the book. Just hated the title.

I think something like Horrific Hotel or Menacing Meeting would have been better.

I didn't like that title too much either, not sure why. There already has been an E though (Ersatz Elevator) .. I guess he might do two, never said he wouldn't repeat letters.

Dante the Viking I think something like Horrific Hotel or Menacing Meeting would have been better. Yeah, I too wanted it to be The H_____ Hotel. Or perhaps The I____ Inn. If you'd been following The Nameless Novel webpage at the time, there was a red herring with 'Hotel' in it, I was so dissapointed when it turned out to be false.

Mara Mylenne There is much to fear in the coming months--alarming puzzles, distressing notations, a series of communications from someone named Beatrice. Wow... Maybe we'll find out more about Beatrice this year. Maybe there'll be a book something like TUA with a bunch of stuff about her in it. *Crosses fingers*

As for the name, I am sort of thinking The Dreadful Denouement... it is the NAME of the hotel... and means...
denouement day-noo-MAWN, noun:
1. The final resolution of the main complication of a literary or dramatic work.
2. The outcome of a complex sequence of events.
Plus... tying up loose ends...
Denouement is from French, from Old French denoer, "to untie," from Latin de- + nodare, "to tie in a knot," from nodus, "a knot."

I felt like it didn't actually explain very much.
My biggest hope for the last book is that the Incredibly Deadly Viper will show up again, maybe on the island the Baudelaires are headed for.
((According to the Bad Beginning rare edition's notes, Violet meets female Finnish pirates and visits an island where it is against the law to remove the fruit on the trees during the 13th book.))
Am I the only one that would be interested in reading biographies of Olaf, or Esme, or even Kit? Who knows what they might reveal?

My copy came with a picture frame (which had an image of the 'cast' of Marvelous Marriage [the Baudelaires, Olaf, and Olaf's troupe]), footnotes at the back of the book, and, if I remember correctly, a bookmark.
*sigh* I lost the picture frame when we moved.
