 Sonnet kept walking along, still towing the small branch with its bounty of apples, knowing that his family will be happy to eat them. Still humming, but a different tune now, looking back to check on the following Ivory now and then. Smiling the walk taking longer than flying, but then his companion was wingless so walking was only fair, besides he had had enough of less than perfect landings for one day.
It didn't take long to get to his home, as soon as he could hear the river running near by he knew they were there. Dragging the branch right up to the entrance of the large shelter his father had made before poking his head inside. "Hey Dad... I brought apples and a friend to stay.. Ok?" Looking back over at Ivory and nods for him to follow again, smiling. "Come meet the family." And with a grin he leads the way inside.

[Fail post. Trying not to merge it all into one. xD] Akuba had only just finished laying down fresh hay with his daughter Stripe, he now spent most of his time with his children, to him 'twas time well invested, he smiled and nuzzled his daughter," it's okay. If I need you I'll call you, your chores for the day are done."
He straightened a family portrait hung on the wall, Stripe had two leggers put it up for them, he smiled again and chuckled looking at his younger daughter in the corner.
"Woking hard?"
Sym looked up and nodded, she had been practising her morse everyday, she had only managed to use it with Cael, Nerissa and her farther, although he wasn't very good at it, he tried and learnt it just for her. She was grateful that Cael had introduced it to her, it had made everything a little bit easier and as a foal when she had found Nerissa she felt on top of the world.
Stripe had never really understood more all too much and hers was very basic, every time Sym tried to teach her she had almost forgotten it all, or only vaguely remembered it. She nudged her sister,"move over", and sat down next to her, soon stretching out and rolling on her side, she watched her father finish off straightening out the teepee, and her sister tap and scratch at the floor almost digging holes. She sighed and wished something exciting would happen, Stripe's attentions often wandered into the unknown.
When Sonnet peeked in Akuba flicked his tail and had his head down near a chest organising possessions, each 'permanent resident' had there own, Akuba had acquired them from two leggers often unwilling to part with their chests, but without constraints they couldn't catch him. He looked at his con,"yeh that's fine, bring 'em in. Just finished tidying."
Akuba closed his chest and waited to greet the visitor.
Stripe's eyes lit up,"a visitor?"
She stood and waggled her lengthy tail, stripe loved new people, though it wasn't to say new people loved her.
Her attentions quickly turned to Sonnet apples,"are they for us?" Stripe took a deep breath and smiled trying to summon all the calm in her.
'Oh? Who is it?'
Sym stopped her tapping and smoothed the earth again looking up to her brother stepping through the entrance. Sym had some idea of the few it could be.

 Ivory had been slowly following behind his best friend with a sung humming in the back of his mouth pleasantly. He had been a little lost in his thoughts, only to return to reality when Sonnet looked back at him. Most of all he was in awe at how big his friend had grow. True they hadn't seen each other in a few months time and they were both young teenagers now. But Sonnet was so large! Not only compared to Ivory, who was small for his age. He guessed that it was the Angeni blood in him, they must get really big.
Snapping out of his thoughts permanently when he suddenly saw Sonnet's home on the horizon. At first he thought his friend was confused because it looked almost exactly like the hand-made shelter's of the two leggers. But then he remembered Sonnet's father was a builder and he laughed at his own silliness. though it was still quite a sight.
He came up closer behind his friend as he heard him call for his father and took a deep breath. He always got nervous when meeting new people and he hoped he would be able to win their acceptance. They were, after all, his best friend's family.
Hearing the older male voice from inside the building calling him in he put on a smile and shyly stepped in. "Hello. Im Ivory. My apologies for intruding." He said politely, mentally running over how he looked. He hoped his striped hair wasn't too messy from the dark days he had just recently escaped from. He also wished he wasn't so thin from those dark times either. He knew he must look a fright.

Sonnet smiled at his friend as he came in, looking over the more skinny young stallion, before looking at Sym, answering her question without a thought, though it probably sounded like a formal introduction. "This is Ivory, he needed a place to stay for a while, so I brought him here." Looking at Ivory thinking he should clue the poor pink guy into who everyone else was, moving from one to the other as he introduced them. "This is my dad Akuba." Moving over between the girls and giving a nod to the relevant ones. "This is my older sister Stripe... She will be very excited to meet you..." Giving Ivory an apologetic look knowing Stripe would probably talk his ear off or traumatise the pink stallion even more than he already was with her weirdness. "And this is my silent twin Symphony, though most of us call her Sy or Sym, I'm sure she wont mind if you do the same." Smiling at Sym knowing she wont mind, moving over to where he had started from looking at Stripe. "And yes the apples are for you, there's loads on there." Having not meant to take off so much of the branch... well the whole branch so they should have more than enough for everyone for today, pretty sure Ivory would need more later, it would take a few days but soon he would be eating more. Looking at his friend and smiling again. "Make yourself at home Ivory."

Akuba grinned and looked at the smaller pink male happy to greet him,"Nice to meet your Ivory. You aren't intruding. Like Sonnet said make yourself at home, I hope we can make your stay a comfortable one."
Stripe's eyes flickered from Sonnet, to Ivory, to her farther, to Ivory again,"What are you talking about of course I'm excited to meet him", she exclaimed, soon she lowered her voice, and stood greeting the Stallion,"it's a pleasure to have you in our home." She invasively nudged his backside and ushered him into a soft patch of fresh hay,"take a seat."
'Well...not a seat...a bail of hay rather...'
She looked at Sonnet in a pouty way and then headed towards the apples.
Symphony watched, she was very curious and shy of new people around her, always paranoid that she came across as rude or just simply weird. When Sonnet introduced her she smiles and gave a wave with one wing. 'Pink stallion...mmm...it's brave to be born with such a colour. I love it! What if he doesn't like me?'
Symphony forgot from time to time the her brother could hear her and pondered to herself.
Akuba continued tidying up, but by now there wasn't much left to do so he decided to join them.
He looked at his younger daughter,".- .-. . / -.-- --- ..- / --- -.- .- -.-- ..--.."
[Are you okay?]

Akuba could still tell Sym hadn't been right for days now and he still worried about her.

Stumbling slightly at the black-maned mare's push inside. He looked around and to ever member of the happy family. He bowed his head in respect and blushed, his shyness creeping up on due to the many new faces. He smiled and inwardly cursed himself for not being as social as every other member of his family. Why did he have to be the odd duckling?
He nodded to Akuba and tried to raise his voice form the quite near-whisper he was maintaining. He didn't want to come off as rude. "That you very much. I will do my best not to be a bother."
He knew that in a few days time he would become comfortable with the family and turn back into himself again. Though he really wished that he could just be himself now rather than having to get over the silly awkwardness he always felt around new people.
He smiled to Stripe, his golden eyes glowing with their regular fire, as he took a seat next to the wall. "Its a great pleasure to meet you all."
He looked from Stripe, to Aku, to his dear friend Sonnet, and over to Symphony. He presented her with the closest thing to a friendly smile he could manage in his awkward, shy state. He could tell she was thinking about something, almost as if she was judging him, and he blushed. He looked at the ground with sudden unexplained embarrassment. He bit his cheek, telling himself to get a grip and say hello to her as well.
Just just as he opened his mouth to say so, his ears twitched at the sound of hoof taps. It was Akuba, and Ivory vaguely wondered why he was tapping. But then his eyes widened in surprise as he realized that that was no simple tapping. It was Morse code. The light taps and pauses formed together to spell out words in a secret, silent language. One he had learned from both his adopted aunt, Selena, and his adopted cousins Nerissa and Rocket.
But who was the message directed to? Surely not him? His silent question was answered when Sy lifted her hoof and replied to the Morse question with another series of hoof taps.
Realization dawned on his instantly as he figured it out. That was the way Sy communicated. Of course! He remembered now clearly that Neri had told him about her meeting with the Angeni mare and how they had played a game with Morse code.
He couldn't withhold his grin as a new plan for greeting formed in his head. He closed his mouth and lifted his light pink hoof instead.

Sonnet couldn't help but grin, not being mean but it was amusing seeing the awkwardness of Ivory with his family, but it was added to by Stripe's overly familiar nudge and Sym's thoughts. Trying to look innocently at the floor though he was having trouble wiping the smile off his face. Looking at his front hooves as they fidgited a little self consciously. "No one thinks you are rude Sym, I explained to Ivory before that you can't talk, besides it seems he can understand your tappy code anyway." Looking from his friend to his sister and back again, his smile was pleased this time, very glad that they could talk to each other at least. His expression soft and a little sad as he looked at Sym, wishing yet again that others could hear her sweet voice. He loved that he could hear her, though sometimes he knew she hated that he could, but the voice he heard in his head was lovely and it was a cruel joke that to the rest of the world it was silent.

Akuba eyed the stallion with kind regard,"Like I said, you aren't a bother." It was a privilege to have a young stallion like Ivory in his home, some children avoided having their friends meeting their parents and family. Akuba had decided not to hassle him too much as he could clearly see the shy embarrassment on Ivory's face.
His eyes flickered to Sonnet, it seemed he was unable to contain his laughter, Akuba raised a brow.
Ivory's smile made stripe feel fuzzy, most didn't even attempt to smile back, maybe because she was in peoples faces all the time but her will was good. Her eyes shot in his direction, not as nicely coloured as his, her bright pink pupils and purple iris usually got people asking but she hoped her mad looking eyes wouldn't scare him too much.
"I can gladly say the same, welcome to our home", she said in a quiet and calmer manner only god knew how long she could contain herself until she exploded and bounced off the walls.
She didn't notice Sonnet's cheeky grins out of her peripheral vision.
'It's not my "tappy code". Don't call it that.' She whined at him knowing that he was only teasing. 'What he does...for real?'
Her eyes lit up, and her thoughts were soon interrupted by Ivory's morse, she turned her head shyly to look at the yellow eyed stallion and blushed whilst flapping the wings on her head. She didn't know why she was doing it, maybe it was just a mixture of happiness and being shy. [Hello. Your morse is quite impressive. Why didn't Sonnet tell me before?]
Sy knew that it probabbly wasn't something he practised or used everyday so she expected him to take a while to work it out. But in her reply she was honestly impressed even by a little hello.
Akuba thought of how much of a shame it was that Sy' life was about codes and silence, but he was glad to at least be okay at morse, he had only just gotten he hang of it although he wasn't as fluent as Sym in tapping and scrapping. Usually he didn't have to he just had to understand it weather it be in english or kawani morse. Sy's actions almost made Akuba worse than Sonnet. He wanted to have a good chuckle.
Morse was pretty much beyond stripe, it did take her quite a bit to work things out and she was trying to work in out mumbling to herself looking at Ivory and Sy. Usually being able to read was good enough for her but when everyone started speaking morse (which wasn't often) she wanted in on it.

The reaction everyone had around him and his morse was not something he had expected. He felt like everyone's eyes were on him and his head suddenly whipped around to peer at everyone. He met each pair of eyes as they looked up to see what he was doing and seeing that they were looking at him made his blush burn and teeth start gnawing on his lip.
He mentally shook himself. What was he doing? Why was he so flustered? We was really starting to get irritated with his meekness. He was here as a guest but he was acting as a fool.
Ivory took in a deep breath, telling himself enough. He smiled at Symphony with genuine sweetness, seeing her own reaction to her father's eyes. "I am not sure why he did not say anything. But I am glad I could use it. My aunt and cousin taught me the code awhile back and I never had much use for it other than games."
But he cocked his head and laughed stiffly, "Though I do not think I am very good at it. i still have a bit to learn."
He looked around to the other's around him with glowing eyes, feeling like he was being rude only talking to Sym suddenly.

Sonnet had managed to get himself under control though he was still grinning brightly but then he was happy so that was not really a problem. "I didn't know so how could I tell you, I've never seen him use it before." Looking at Sym and then at Ivory and giving a small shrug, he hadn't known then again Ivory and him had never played any games that involved it.
Moving over to get his neck into the loop of the largest water bucket in the far corner. "I'll go get some more water and bedding and things, we will need the extra while we have a guest." Grinning over at Ivory pleased to have his friend to stay. "I'll get some more food too, we need to fatten you back up." Looking over his family with a friendly smile and giving Ivory a reassuring nod before he headed for the door, it was only fair he did the few extra jobs as he had brought the guest. But least here Ivory would be able to cheer up and get better again. Giving them all one more look before he walked out and started for the river that was just the other side of the path. It didn't take long to get the bucket full and be walking back to the teepee, poking his head inside just enough and looking at his dad. "Where would you like this one put?"

Akuba raied a brow at Ivory.
'Interesting.'
He turned to sonnet when asked a question, "just bring it to the trough by me thank you." He smiled at his son adoringly and then his eyes rested back onto Ivory.
"Let me help!" Stripe bounced onto her feet and over to the empty and newly cleaned trough,"those buckets must be a little heavy." She beamed and flicked her tail,"Sonnet your friend is sooooo clever!! I feel pretty dumb around you brain boxes!!"
Sym ignored her boisterous sister and turned to ivory still intrigued,"- .... .- - / --- -.- .- -.-- .-.-.- / -.-- --- ..- .----. .-.. .-.. / --. . - / .-.. --- .- -.. ... / --- ..-. / -.-. .... .- -. -.-. . ... / - --- / ..- ... . / .. - / .... . .-. . --..-- / --- .-. / .- - / .-.. . .- ... - / - --- / ..- -. -.. . .-. ... - .- -. -.. / .. - .-.-.-"

Sym looked at Sonnet,'it's okay. Your friend is pretty cool so far!'
She stretched her wings out and ruffled them turning to Stripe trying to take the bucket from Sonnet.
Akuba sat down himself,"Stripe let Sonnet do it, go and sit down and stop fussing."
Stripe sat down quietly and watched sonnet.

In the brief moment in which Sonnet left, Ivory sat idly with one side of his brain trying to remember all he could of morse code, and the other slowly taking in his situation.
Up till this point, everything was a shocked blur. He still felt his mind a bit numb with his depression and stillness that had only just ended recently. Now where was he? A new home. With new people. With Sonnet. Ivory would need time to get this through his head, he felt a sleepless night waiting for him once sun down. He felt completely drained.
He sighed to himself in a sort of mental defeat, and just as he did so Sonnet came in and Ivory caught Aku's eye. That adore glimmer sent a shot of pain through his heart as for a second her saw his father. But he shook it off. New family, right? Perhaps one day, if time allowed it, he would see his father again. Maybe he might also finally see that same spark in his eye.
He watched the hustle of the family at sonnet's return and translated Sym's morse. He turned to her and gave a knowing nod. He turned to stripe and smiled apologetically, "I just learned things, i am not clever. It is my aunt who is clever for knowing it and teaching it to me. She had the insight to guess it might come useful one day."
Finally, he turned to Aku and Son and smiled for their attention, "Might I help with anything? I don't want to be a lazy guest..."

Sonnet had smiled at Ivory when he came back in, but had walked past him and didn't see the flash of pain from the bond between father and son. Had he seen it he would have probably thought this was a bad idea and taken him to stay with someone else he knew, he hadn't brought his friend here to cause him more pain.
Freezing when Stripe started to try and help, trying hard not to spill the water, but not wanting to tell her no because it was good she wanted to help, though it was a little tricky when the chore was mostly done. Giving her a reassuring smile when she sat back down, showing her he hadn't minded, it was just hard to help with the water like this.
Looking over at Ivory, pondering. "Well your our guest so we shouldn't let you do any chores, but if your going to be like one of the family I'm sure we can give you a few easy ones to do." His grin a little cheeky as he winked at his friend. "But first you must get better, eating properly and sleeping better.. so maybe in a week when you are more yourself and not skin and bones." His expression concerned for his friend.

Soon it'd be time for Akuba to go about tightening the knots tying down the teepee, he always tried to keep himself looking busy but most of the time he failed and sat alone indoors until somebody asked for him, he was just happy to heave peace. Akuba left the exited the teepee and let the younger people settle.
Stripe giggled to herself, watching everyone.
"I'm sure we could find you some chores....you can have mine! I hate chores anyway."
Sym shot a look at her,"-.-- --- ..- .-. / -.-. .... --- .-. . ... / .-- .. .-.. .-.. / -... . / -.-- --- ..- .-. / --- .-- -. .-.-.-"
[Your chores will be your own.]
She knew her sister wasn't much good with morse either but she had gotten the swing of it, Sym didn't like the thought of anyone else's chores being dumped on Ivory, her eyes soon flickered back to him.

Stripe's face dropped,"I still don't under stand that much...!"
She slowly spelt out the sentence to herself like a child learning to read.
