(4/5) slaves... 「 Iηtroduction 」... upJust down the street from the infamous black market lies a broken down little hut, it's clay walls concaving ever so slightly from years of wear and weather treatment. The grimey little hut is complete with a rickety sign, it's wooden beer mug appearance, swinging to on it's makeshift stand.
Despite the shady appearance the hut's interior is surprisingly clean. A few rows of tables are splayed somewhat randomly across a well swept floor, parted down the middle so one can easily make their way to the bar at the back. There a burly looking male stands polishing a small glass, the multicolored bottles behind him seeming to bathe him in an unnatural light.
A customer enters and the male looks up offering a rough smile and a mere upwards tilt of the head. "Can I getcha something strong buddy?"... 「 Behiηd The Baя 」... Master: Kangara

   ♉______ Open Books» Brief Bio: From an early age, Kang had a very strong sense of self-entitlement; his family was neither rich nor influential, but they had their pride and a deep gene pool of physical attributes. Although Kang was never the wisest of pups he was always the strongest and early on he learned that by instilling a healthy amount of fear and pressure you could get just about anything you wanted and so he bullied his way to top. Every father’s father in Kangara’s family were title holding war veterans and so as soon as he was able, Kang too joined the special forces where once again his physical prowess boosted him quickly through the ranks. However, kang was never truly destined for greatness and during his third tour, his platoon was ambushed in the middle of the night. While they came out with minor casualties Kang sustained a serious injury to his ear; part of the cartilage had been ripped clean off and a fierce blow had permanently damaged his eardrum. And though Kang insisted that his hearing was fine, the generals considered this new development too much a liability and he was immediately dismissed. Heartbroken, Kangara returned to Zanzibar to his tail between his legs. It was only after months of wallowing did Kangara come to a startling realization: There was only one thing he knew better than the art of war and that was hot to make one hell of a drink. Armed with this new found expertise he set off to redeem his pitiful existence and re-earn a spot in society.
» Personality: The most concise way to describe Kang would be to call him a smart-a**. He always has something to say and a retort to throw at his opponents. His comments range from goofy to just plain lewd and increase in intensity the more agitated he becomes. Unfortunately, he tends to be extremely moody, often slipping into days of broodish agitation or deep melancholy. When such moods occur it is best to steer clear as he has been known to lash out irrationally at any who get in his way.
Kangara’s life has been run by pride and prowess from the time that he was a young pup, and even now that he is grown he relies on intimidation to achieve his means. This sometimes conflicts with his responsibilities as a Bar Tender as he will not hesitate to personally take a bar offender out. And though he is starting to learn to keep the customers happy he has been known to make scalding comments at the drop of a hat. When it comes to his slaves he is a fair owner, however he rewards failure with harsh words and only the occasional beating. It is his theory that a broken slave cannot wait tables effectively.
If there is anything Kang has a weak spot for it is the ladies. Unfortunately his approach towards them is extremely flawed; he opts for crude statements and arrogant flirting. Despite this front he truly cares about the ladies and will go out of his way to impress them with any suave maneuver he can come up with.

Be careful what you say around the bar, chances are it will get passed around. While Kangara's lips might be sealed shut, there is no garuntee that you will not be heard drunkenly spilling your darkest secrets.
Have any info you'd like to pass on ICly that your Hound would not like divulged? Need an interesting way to move a plot. Just chat up Kangara and any information he learns will be written here for all to read.

Badges♈______ Open Books» Brief Bio: Suzuku is not a cat with much worry over his lot in life. If anything, one could say he is happy! He is a sturdily built cat, quite large and with thick limbs, which match his rather thick skull. Though intelligent and quick to pick up tasks he is given, he lacks a bit of common sense and integrity, which are his downfall in completing said tasks with any sort of finesse; a few harsh, reminder words, and also a couple cracks of a whip are sure to get this occasionally absent-minded cat back on track.
He enjoys being amongst others, be it other slaves or the upper classes of hound. He is able to slot himself easily into any situation, though sometimes his mouth runs away with him. Again, a swift, angered glance from his master, or a sharp 'shush', or even just interrupting him often does the trick to silence him. He is used to interruptions, and bears no grudge to those that do, simply falls silent and listens happily. His size has applied him well to tasks of brute strength or of intimidation. This was spotted quickly by the male Hound that later became his Master.
Suzuku, all in all, is a calm individual with a capacity to be strong in the positions granted him. His strength and joviality give him a passable likeableness, and he is often well remembered by those that frequent the Bar he now works, not just for his... unusual appearance!
» Personality: Suzuku was born into slavery. His lineage, due to his most bizarre appearance and size, is suspect. Eyes such as his have never before been seen, and his unmanageable growth as a young kitty made him a possible victim of forced inbreeding for better traits to be shown in his old Master's breeding farm. His initial task with his old Master in Caspia was as a farm plough-pull. It built his shoulders well, and he had to say he was not overly pleased with the work, being led around and unable to talk for the bit in his mouth; a sociable fellow if anything could be said of him. His growth was eventually stunted from its full potential for the hard work that built muscles too short for the stretch being demanded by growing bones, but he was certainly no small cat once he hit maturity.
Once old enough to be moved on, and of more use as a stone-gain then a labour-slave, his Master passed him on to the Slave Trader of Zanzibar. Suffice to say the price received did not rival the price for re-buying, but the Hound he once belonged to was young and of low stature, and unable to demand more from the old Hyena, who merely laughed him off the premise. Stuck in those cages with many scared and lonely cats around him, Suzuku lapsed into a sort of semi-aware state, disliking the constricting cages and constant parading for the view of Hounds nationwide. Eventually, his size and strength were favoured, and his price paid by a bar-keeping Hound of low stature following a war-wound. Kangara was a fair Master, and Suzuku flourished once purchased, and able to get back to socialising with others, slave and hound alike.
He took a shine to every other slave he was housed with, liking them all, even if they did not specifically like him for all his lacking sense and occasionally too-friendly approach. He was put to work on the door, keeping tabs on those that entered, as well as helping remove trouble-makers, and also helping at the end of the night clean up the bar, and sort out any major troubles within the bar's belly. The work he enjoyed, much more then his original life of pulling a cart, and he is happy that his Master Kanguru saw more potential in him.

Badges♈______ Open Books» Brief Bio: Anima had no recollection of where she had been before she was found in one of Cairo’s many rivers, nor was she able to recall what her family was like, or if she had a master in some other portion of Syria not yet developed enough to take a place on the map. Taken in as a blank slate, she has been stuck within the black market with little to explain her odd appearance or why she had on gold metal (which was usually reserved for high-rank slaves). With no-one coming to reclaim her, she has become little more than another mewling cat in the various cages of Zanzibar – albeit one with rather impressive fangs.
» Personality: Beyond her occasional minor memory lapses, Anima’s timidity camouflages her amongst more bold or violent slaves. She hates being in the spotlight and, despite her intelligence and love of words, doesn’t like to show it off and actually would rather dumb herself down in front of others. Why would she do so if to be useful meant better treatment? Because she’s far more afraid of messing up with those raised expectations than she is of being considered a dumb freak. While thankfully Anima will do any task you put her up to, she’s an easily frightened kitteh: loud noises, sudden movements, intimidating animals, and the dark are just a few fears she has.
Though it’s quickly apparent that Anima isn’t exactly extroverted, she has a knack for observing movements and being able to replicate them quickly. The easiest way for her to acclimate is through a steady stream of positive words and gentle criticisms, followed by a series of jobs that forces her to stimulate her brain. Sharp barks, heated looks, and cold silences only make her freeze up with anxiety: which, by the way, she has a reservoir of. Under the right master, Anima has the potential to be among the fastest-learning slaves; under the wrong one, she could become stuck in a cycle of self-critical and esteem-lowering periods that only is a detriment to all.
