Bring on your torture, your bullets, your pains The crisp autumn air filled my lungs as I stepped into the horse drawn carriage my aunt owns. Today was the day the Renaissance Faire comes to our town. Our driver, provided by my uncle, opened the door and helped me up the steps and into the cabin. I sighed as I felt the dress I wore close in around me. She looked at me and smiled, which was all she could manage in her corset.
As soon as Uncle had set up shop, which was yesterday, we had been in and out, browsing and helping our fellow merchants with their goods. Now I was on my own in the tent, ready to mingle with who ever came my way and sell a few of our hand made baubles or a fine crafted trinket.
I organized the inventory, setting the hand dipped candles in rows, and placing hand strung beads on velvet display pieces. Each was a unique craft of their own, as they were one of a kind. My uncle was a metal worker, and he crafted and wielded wonderful sculptures of roses, simple and beautiful.
I walked around the tent, looking at the fruits of our labor, and smiled. I was so excited. And in my heart, things aren't the same.

((A medieval story! My favorite! I'm already wondering what this story is about. Post more? I like the way you described the little shops and getting ready. My professional opinion says you could probably do with some more description, but my personal taste thinks you put in the right amount (I hate descriptions). smile Can't wait to see where this goes!))

((So is this taking place during medieval times, or is it just a Renaissances Fair? 'Cause if it's the second one that so messes with you mind. You're like, roleplaying about roleplaying. Whoa!))
