I'm an avid follower of politics, and I live in the UK.

By the way, I think there's something wrong with your poll. Conservatives and Liberals are NOT the same thing; in fact, they are entirely opposite. Conservatives tend to be right-wing whereas Liberals tend to be left-wing.

There's not really one single party which I support; I tend to see how they stand on a variety of issues, although for me in the UK I find myself generally supporting the Liberal Democrats (Lib Dems). Why? Because they stand for the freedom of the individual, and they're now the only major British party which is still against university tuition fees.

I'd talk about China, but I'm at school and don't have the energy - there's way too much to say - so will post more later.

I don't really follow politics...
I live in Canada and I really don't know who to support. Used to like Liberal then changed toConservatives then changed to Liberal again after finding out Conservatives didn't exactly keep their promises...

By the way, what does right/left mean? sweatdrop

Left-wing are those who fight for:
Social security, free eduction, free college education, free health care system, low unemployment

Right-wing are those who fight for:
Low taxes, fast economic growth, low rate of inflation, low unemployment

Basically Left wing helps the poor, Right wing helps the rich to become even more rich

Yesh, left is more for the freedom of the individual and equality for all, whereas right is more for conservation of traditional values and stuff like that.. tbh both sides have their good and bad points..

I'm only interested in world politics and the politics in my country. I don't give a damn what happens in America, or even China since they don't affect me personally.

@'elf - yeh, I know what you mean. I only really follow British and world.. I only ever hear of the really big things in other countries..

@789 - I guess you're entitled to think that it's boring.. it does seem a bit out-of-reach sometimes, but you have to remember that it's because of politicians that our lives are the way they are and their decisions affect everyone..

Nope. I'm an Aussie. 3nodding I think I already stated that a few times already in this guild. If not, I'll have to pull out an Aussie banner then.

I like watching & reading the news; and that always has stuff on politics.
Though I don't delve into it much and draw out a dictionary everytime they say a word to attack them for the meaning that their sentence was supposed to portray; I still like to know what the hell is going on.

I would go for Liberals or Democrats; though, if the Labor Party weren't so 'we-love-garbage-collecters-and-plumbers' so much, I'd go for them too. 3nodding

Liberals/Conservatives are...well...conservative.
Labor on the other hand say that they love change and improvement...but their ideologies are seriously flawed.

You're an Aussie as well? That's great!! biggrin I would vote for the Liberals at the Federal Election as well; Labor's just too incompetent under Kim 'two times loser' Beazely. In this year's state elections however it's a different story. There's no way Labor could lose in Victoria.
