How does this place feel about toys that transform that are not transformers? I recently started collecting Bakugan toys . . . now, let me be clear. The show, game, and overall concept is crap. The toys however, are fun. Spring-loaded, automatic transforming little shapes. To me, they are like Soundwave's little army . . . useless for all intents and purposes in alt mode, but unfold into interesting little creatures and shapes. sweatdrop

Bakugan is what you get when a Transformer rapes a pokemon...

Well, that would make sense, with the spherical shape of most of em, but what about the cylinders, pyramids, cubes, etc?

I actually haven't played with those yet. Some kids check out the cartoons at the library, but it reminds me too much of Yu-Gi-Oh and I really disliked that show.
I do collect other stuff, though. I have a couple of figures that are more decorative that play-worth, like my Alphonse Elric. Say what you will, Square Enix offers some cool figurines, as does McFarlane.

Heh, let me get the picture I have of the "Transmorgifiers." Namely my favorite character, "Starholler."

Magni Prime Well, that would make sense, with the spherical shape of most of em, but what about the cylinders, pyramids, cubes, etc? Cylinders = Bionicle Cube = Lego I got nothin' for pyramids.

They just feel like an army of drones to me, similar to Soundwave. Especially when I noticed a 7-part gestalt dragon the other day. Each piece has it's own transformation, and then combines into this monstrosity.

I had looked at a couple at target yesterday- truth be told, I couldn't tell which were supposed to be the creatures and which were supposed to be attatchments. sweatdrop

I find few regrets in my Bakugan purchases, and now have 10. the only one that is borderline is the "light and sound" equipped one. I was interested in the light, but the speaker is a bit much.
I don't have much choice, since I seem to be on the most bleak end of the Transformers universe for toys. I still haven't even seen a mindwipe yet, and Lockdown is pegwarming. If that utterly awesome figure is pegwarming, you know there are problems. No sign of any figures newer than that . . . no PCC, no Generations, no WfC, nothing. crying crying crying

I actually enjoy Bakugan. I've only seen part of the show but it didn't seem too bad. The toys are fairly neat though, most becomes spears(sp) but it's amazing how many of the things the spears can become.
I have one of the two Gestalts, the Red Dragon on, I missed out on the Toys R Us exclusive one.

Guess I'll have to search ebay or something like that. *sigh*

Well, I finally bought the bakugan gestalt, and it is surprisingly sturdy. The overwhelming red is tiresome, but the modes are interesting. Quite interesting . . .

Considering that there are other Bukugan that have holes and pegs there might be other combinations. I generally leave mine as a gestalt though.
