I remeber reading that. I asked my mom about that (shes awesome!!) and she said that it wasn't a suprise because the millitary is just a old boys club anyway and of course they wouldn't accept that. Bush is trying to get it not allowed for pagan soldiers to practice. But yeah, we all should be allowed in if only for the principle of the thing, free rights for all. I still don't see why any gblt person would WANT to be in the US army, but hey, thats me.

If that's what someone wants to do, I don't think the military should be so bloody picky. They can't afford to be anyway. It's like you go from Boyscouts to the army. *shakes head* Too much descrimination in this country or in the world.

I don't believe that the military should turn away homosexuals, but it certainly makes things a little more hairy if they keep them. After all, it would be like having men and women rolled into one military service. Sexual frustration might occur leading to...unwanted sexual intimacy. They have a women's division and men's division, so perhaps a homosexual division? It would not be segregation because they divide up genders too. I really am torn on the subject however.

I understand your point of view, but I don't know. I don't think it's right to turn away people based on sexual orientation. I do get what you're saying, but do you honestly think that men and women in the army don't engage in sexual intercourse?? Besides, not everyone would be gay, and there are already homosexual people in the army, as this article pointed out in a way, so they must already be feeling the tension but dealing with it. I just don't agree with the don't ask don't tell aspect of it all.

extreme_velocity Do you honestly think that men and women in the army don't engage in sexual intercourse?? Hell no I don't believe that, but sleeping and showering quarters are seperate. People are gonna have sex no matter what you do with them, I suppose.
