-State Of The World-
This diary takes place in December of 2009.
In July of 2009, Kelly King was sucked into an alternate universe via a wormhole, disappearing from the real world forever. However, three years prior to this, several other people involved with the wrestling world also disappeared in a similar manner. Among them were Triple H, The Undertaker, AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels. Kelly King would find that they had all found new jobs amongst various wrestling promotions in this, the 9000 Universe, where comic book, video game, movie, and anime characters lived their lives.
Top 5 Companies
BLEACH Soul-slaying Federation
The most popular promotion in the world today is the Bleach Soul-slaying Federation. One of the "big 3" global promotions in the industry as of 2008, and parent comany to Karakura Filler Combat, Bleach has carved itself a large slice of the market with its vibrant characters, long running storylines, and their macho'tastic take on the shounen genre by using a roster of people comparing constantly one-upping each others' d**k-size by clashing swords.
Their action is high octane and over the top, with a focus on swordsmanship as well as "kidou" (magic using spiritual energy) attacks. While smarks often deride its lack of psychology and where brute force beats everything, mainstream audiences just can't get enough of it.
Ultimate Ninja Storm
Ultimate Ninja Storm was founded by the late Hiruzen Sarutobi (unless you're playing as him, of course), and was established at the perfect time, to fill the shounen void that had been missing since the western-popular Dragon Ball Z promotion hit a rough patch in 1999.
With its colorful and quirky characters to its generously paced fights filled with intelligent battle strategies, UNS has remained a hot property with fans, and their merchandise sales even managed to keep them afloat during their "year of filler hell".
Marvel/DC Coalition
Outnumbered and sick of constantly getting the shaft by the anime-centric workers and promotion owners of the 9000-verse, two major players from the comic-industry, Marvel and DC, formed an unlikely allegience and started their own promotion, with Stan Lee leading the charge. They are also the parent company of The Initiative.
Over their many years they have had to deal with clashes between the superheros and supervillains, plots against humanity, and constant invasions from the anime industry. All of these they weathered, but in late 2006 an incident occured which consequently broke apart the fragile truce between Marvel and DC, pitting babyfaces against babyfaces and the heels coming to their aid, with worker's allegiances being more important than their moral fiber. As of writing, December 2009, this in-promotion war is still taking place.
Ironically, it may not be anime—but their own roster—which wind up being the greatest threat to MDC2's future.
Dragon Ball Z
Originally known as Dragon Ball, a product shift to a maturer audience in '92 saw it adopting the "Z" suffix and vaulting to the top of the promotions with it's edgier attitude and then ace-lineup in Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza. While modern competition has seen a drop in DBZ's attendence rates they still have a strong roster and remain one of the big top 3 based in the US.
The main cause of conflict exists due to the titular and sought-after dragon balls, where if all 7 are brought together Shenron can be summoned by that individual or group to grant them any single wish within it's ability.
TOEI Animation
TOEI Animation is a Tokyo-based promotion whose main claim to fame is its role in popularizing the muscle-bound shounen type of product, having creating several famous exports that have managed to make their way into the west, none the least of which was the Dragon Ball brand (which proved so successful that the rights were sold so that an American branch of it could be established, in the form of DBZ, who they have a working deal with).
Their focus is now split between their two brands: BrawlSAUCE, which provides much of the classic TOEI action fans have grown to expect, and Air Gear, a newish venture based on the idea of fighting with mechanized roller blades called "Air-Trek", that has proved surprisingly popular.
Notable Over-9000 Verse WorkersReal-World Workers

Several real world wrestlers were absorbed into the Over-9000 universe. Besides shaving off a few years of age to put themselves back in a never-ending youth, many of these superstars of old have begun to feel... empowered.
Their gimmicks are slowly adapting to a world where the fantastic is normal. Slowly but surely, the Fallen Angel will become just that. The Undertaker will actually control lightning and darkness. The Cerebral Assassin will... become an assassin for real. The faster these superstars come to terms with this, the easier their transformation will be.
Superman
Also known as Kal-El to comic book marks, Superman is an alien who was raised on Earth after his homeworld was blown up. While he retains a humanoid appearance, he has an arsenal of alien powers that included flight, super-strength, super-speed, vision powers (including x-ray, heat-emitting, telescopic, infra-red, and microscopic vision), super-hearing, and super-breath. While he is generally invincible, he is extremely weak to magic and supernatural powers, as well as the compound known as "Kyptonite". Superman was one of the most popular and talented superstars of 2009, and is a member of the MDC2 roster.
Light Yagami
Light Yagami is a brilliantly gifted Japanese worker who debuted in 2007. He has one of the most intelligent and calculating minds the anime industry has seen, and is responsible for popularizing the phrase: "JUST AS PLANNED" (a phrase that many workers now use to describe their satisfaction after a series of events go just how they'd envisioned).
While typically a genius of this level would be a good thing, his narcissism coupled with a very strong—but warped—sense of justice, made him become disgusted with modern society, and after coming into possession of a Death Note (an object with the power to cause death, which now supposedly acts as the title in KPWW) he developed a God complex and a meglomaniacal desire to rid mankind of "unworthy" people, hoping to force the world into his version of utopia, with him ruling it. He owns Kira's Perfect World Wrestling.
Son Goku
Debuting in DBZ, Goku has become one of the strongest workers within the anime industry, with an amazing popularity that has waned very little over the years. Even though his character may seem standard fare by today's standards, he is one of it's originators, forever solidifying his legendary status.
His character is typically booked as a pure hearted babyface whose selflessness is respected by many and scoffed at by others. Somewhat of a manchild, he can be naïve at times, but it's a trait best not exploited as he also has a great love of fighting and competition (in part due to his being from a race of alien warriors known as "Saiyajins" that have it in their blood), and will jump at any opportunity to do battle.
Known for his epic training angles and Ironman+++ matches, both of which has gained him an image as the strongest being in the universe.
Barack Obama
Barack Obama is the 44th President of the United States who covertly joined the anime industry, under a fake alias, upon hearing that Adam Ryland (creator of the "Totally exXxtreme Whiffleball" series, which he is a big fan of) was opening his own promotion.
As a perk of the oval office, he has had CIA and Homeland Security resources diverted towards his own physical development, where he has gained a rudimentary workrate and physique in an unprecedented amount of time.
