Things were going well.
Quite well.
Along with his exploring, he had bumped into several wolves of the skewed persuasion, it seemed. Others that thought his idea was a good one. This was a wonderful thing. The more wolves he could gather, the stronger they could be come. But he didn't want too many, only those they could trust. After all, with thieves, you had to treat each other with respect and well being, because if you couldn't trust your pack, who could you trust?
The large male took these things into consideration as he padded through the dense undergrowth that was the forests of Telk. He had done a lot of thinking over the past two seasons, which was a good thing if he was to be prepared.
He had already determined one thing in particular. The pack could not stay in one place for too long. In his wanderings he had been making note of good, obscure places for the pack to claim with each move and it was about time for him to head to the designated meeting place.

The days had passed and things were just fine in her world. Well, maybe not completely just fine. Cassidy had been finding herself leaving her family more and more each day, not seeing her mother or her father. Neither did Cassidy see her brother and littermate Dillinger around as much. She just couldn't find it in herself to care whether or not she saw her family or the rest of the pack she'd been born and raised near.
After everything, the only things Cassidy cared about was her own livelihood and finding the bright, shining things the two-leggers left around their living settlements. It was no different from what her mother did, and it was not like her family had any real such attachments to the pack of sin, Gomorrah.
Her dark legs and bright paws brought her and her thoughts further and further away from the lands that she never did quite call "home." She had heard the small, whispered rumors of a group forming, wolves set behind a common set of ideals. Those who took what they wanted. She was fond of the idea, so long as they didn't take what she set her mind on what she wanted. Nice, shiny, two-legger items. Anything else, she can take and just give or throw away.
But she wasn't sure of the details. Was this group just set in one place? Cassidy wasn't sure she liked the idea of that. She liked moving about, and she certainly didn't want anyone to follow her and take her shiny items.
There was only one way to find out if this was a good idea or not. She needed to find some sign of this group or find the leader. Hence, her wandering in search of these others.
Cassidy was brought out of her musings, her paws instinctively slowing her movement as her ears twitched and her nostrils flared. There was another wolf near her and Cassidy wasn't sure if it was a danger or not.

The colorfully hued wolf paused, the fibers of his being tensed as his golden ears pricked and swiveled forward. Some beast was approaching and, though he was quite confident in his own abilities to defend himself, he did not want to be caught unaware, nor did he want to underestimate what came near.
Head high and tail up, he stood his ground and waited for the stranger to come nearer to him, instead of moving. From the scent, he could tell it was another wolf, one that was still young, but not too young.
Interesting...
Once the other was within easy ear shot, he called out.
"'Ello, there! Who might yeh be, eh?" While he kept a friendly ring to his voice, there was a firm undertone. He was determined to establish himself.

The bright backed she-wolf stopped and twitched. The other was obviously male. His scent was that of a young adult, older than herself.
"Hello! I'm just passing through in search of something," Cassidy answered. She was sure that she wasn't in any established pack lands but if this was new she didn't want them to think she was encroaching on their land.
Her paws continued moving, and she found herself in front of an older, colorful, male wolf. Her nose did not lead her astray, he was older than her and was closer to being a full-grown adult than the adolescent she was.
Cassidy was apprehensive. Who was this wolf? Did he pose a danger to her? ... did he know of the group of whom she was looking for?
The male wolf held himself, firm but not hostile. She didn't cower in front of him but looked him in the eye with no glare or glower. She was determined not to provoke any type of hostile actions.
"My name's Cassidy. Yours?"

While she didn't appear submissive, she didn't seem aggressive, and he took this as a varied good sign. She was younger than he, but she seemed able enough to hold herself. She was rather colorful, kin to the sunsets that he enjoyed watching in the evenings. He couldn't help but to admire her bright coat for a moment, before shifting his gaze past her, towards the direction she had come from.
"Searchin' fer somethin' y'say?"
His hefty paw strayed to the ground, where he had dropped something that belonged to man. Something heavy, a horseshoe they put on their big, four-legged steeds. He couldn't very well speak to her or defend himself with the metal thing in his maw.
"Cass'dy, eh" S'a darn pretty name. I'm Verdauga."

He was interesting, that was for sure. She found her eyes taking glances at his coat, the different hues and colors in it. She was curious.
"I am," Cassidy answered. She narrowed her eyes, all thoughts about the thieving group forgotten on the item the male had dropped to the ground. The shiny, heavy item she had spied from the two-legger camps and on the big four legged beasts they sat on. An item that she had been hoping to go in and steal from the two-leggers.
She barely heard the name he gave her. It was the least in her mind. It was the very shiny object. And she wanted it. She would have it! Of anything she had stolen, nothing had captivated her but for those that belonged to the big four legged beasts. The metal glinting when the sun shone. If he wouldn't give it to her willingly, she'd have to take it with force.
"Verdauga. Nice," her voice was curt. Not harsh but not the most friendliest. "That object near your paw that you just dropped. Would you relinquish your possession over it to me?"

"Cass'dy, eh?"
He watched her closely, noting how she seemed to grow distant. Her eyes were not on him long, that he caught almost immediately. She wanted something that was his. He wasn't too keen on the idea of giving in.
Ears pricked at the sound of his name and he tilted his head slightly, before glancing down at the horseshoe that rested beneath his large, purple paws. Her voice was short, quick to the chase, and his hackles bristled slightly at her next statement.
"'Fraid not, missy. This 'ere, it be mine. Yer welcome t'fight me for et, iffn ya want."

((I can't RP a fight to save my life lol))
It was a challenge. It was shiny, and what she wanted. Cassidy was not going to just walk away from it without a fight. The male was keeping something she had wanted for a while and she'd get her paws on it, some way or another.
Cassidy glared at the ground before snarling and pouncing at the wolf's feet, trying to quickly snatch the shiny. She quickly rolled to her paws into an upright position after failing to get the object in her paws, and she needed to be ready for the reactions of the larger older Verdauga.
She leaped at him once more as she thought of the shiny leaving her sights and wanted, needed the fight over the object.
After exchanging superficial and glancing blows Cassidy was losing stamina and she knew she couldn't keep up with Verdauga. She didn't know why but she couldn't get the upperpaw. The quick and fast loss of stamina was catching up to her and so Cassidy drew back from the struggle she was having with the older wolf over the shiny, panting heavily.

Verdauga was large and confident in himself, refusing to back down as the younger wolf attempted to get him away from his prized horseshoe. He used his size to try and deflect her, keeping the center of his body over his prize and using his forepaws to buffet her backwards.
She was a stubborn creature, he could tell that much, and how she was so determined to take the shiny item from him was impressive enough. As she drew back, he made a decision. He, too, pulled back and stood over the horseshoe, it right in front of his forepaws.
"Y'really wantin' this lil' ol' thing, no?"

Cassidy panted, keeping her eyes on both Verdauga and the shiny horseshoe. As she regained her breath she caught the question as he pulled back over the item.
She looked him fully in the eyes, trying to understand what he was thinking. Was this a trick? What did he want from her? She knew what she wanted. The item and any information on the group. Now that she thought of it she never got to ask him if he knew of anything.
"I do," she answered. "I would do anything for it."

Anything.
Just what he was hoping to hear, though he didn't outwardly show it. Instead, he appeared as though he was considering something, despite the fact that his mind was already made up. He liked something about her, though he couldn't put his paw completely on it.
"Right, then~ How's about I make yeh an offer, mm? See, I gotta pack. I gotta pack that I'm thinkin' cou'd use someone like yerself. Sees, I got this pack I'm formin' 'round the east at the moment. A thieves pack. I'm thinkin' you's good material, gal~"

She could have it? Cassidy almost thought she was dreaming. He was going to let her have it?
This was good.
Wait. "You're the one forming a thieves pack? I'd been hearing things, on the low of course. I was actually coming through here hoping to find someone who knew anything about it," Cassidy gave a small smirk.
This looked to be the perfect opportunity. The offer was sound and she liked it.
"And I run into the wolf running it? This is perfect. I'll take your offer. You let me have that there shiny, and I'll follow you. I don't have much ambitions wise so no worries my end. So long as you give me that, I'm all paws."

"Oi, yarr, I'll give et to ya, so long as yer true to the pack. Seems lady luck's on both our sides, t'day, eh?" He nudged a paw under the horseshoe and flipped the heavy, metal object towards the sunset hued wolfess.
Yes, she would be a good addition.
"Be wary, though, ambitions or not, iffn' ya cross th' pack or steal from th' members, yer gonna 'ave a right ol' time gettin' out unscathed." His tone was stern, but not unkind, as he gave Cassidy another look over.
She will do well.

A corner of Cassidy's lip turned up, in a bit of a small grin in response. Her paw quickly moved to grab the horseshoe and bring it closer to her body. She didn't think she had anything to worry about Verdauga giving her the item. She felt like she trusted him already, only moments after having just met him. Even stranger that she trusted him after her struggle for the item.
Resting her paw onto the shiny, she thought she would need to find something to carry the item easier with her. Perhaps some cloth or string. It would be easier to free her maw when she would need to protect it and herself.
"That's fine. I have a code you know, not to steal from another wolf so long's they're not an enemy or rival. So long as they don't touch this shiny or something you want, I won't bother them."
Cassidy ran her eyes over the wolf's coat once more, her eyes landing once more to look into his eyes. "Where were you headed when I ran into your way?"

"Code's a good thing ter 'ave, dear." He chuckled slightly.
"It'll be th' code what 'olds th' pack together, the glue t'bond it." He turned his head in the direction he had been traveling, unsure of his own response just yet. He was eager to go to the meeting place, but he wanted to gather as many promising members as possible. Should he send her on ahead, or travel with her.
"The pack ain't gonna sit still, that's fer sure. Ain't gonna sit 'n twiddle our tails, waitin' t'get caught. Pack's gonna wander. Gonna go where we want 'n take what we want. First meetin' place is west, 'long the river, in a spacious cave. S'where I'm 'eaded."
