I'm really close to beating the first Suikoden that I couldn't beat when I was like 9 or 10. I also bought the manga since I can now understand the story more sweatdrop . So I wanna play another one and I was wander which of the others made is the best or funnest? I just don't want to waste my time on like the worst out of the sequals you know. Oh and could you tell me why its so fun to you? like the graphics, gameplay, story, ..etc.

My favorite Suikoden is 1, but alot of Koden fans feel Suikoden 2 is the greatest of the series (it is pretty damn good).
Suikoden 3 has some negative feedback from the fans, but personally, I don't know why. Sure the battle system is annoying and takes some getting used to, but the character and plot are still up to par with the Suikoden games.
Suikoden 4 is a decent effort, but not high caliber game. It did somethings good, introduced some nice features for the series, but removed some that made Suikoden 3 an improvement (the skill system was removed from 4, which was a kick a** addition to Suikoden)
Overall, Suikoden 1 is the best to me, but you can't go wrong with any of them. Although it is preferred that you play them in order (4 is an exception).

my favorite is suikoden 2 while the major battles is lacking compared to 3 i find the characters to be on lvl with 1 and the story to be better than the rest.
suikoden 1 is next coming barely behind 2 in all other parts other than the characters
suikoden three has the best major battles in my opinion with a great cast of characters
suikoden 4 is a good game but the characters dont seem to have near as much to them as they do in previous installments

The best one in my oppignon is the II. Everything is great in it. The wrost one is the IV. Soma said all that there was to be said alredy.

I find suikoden 2 the best because the army and random battles were well made, the story is great and the characters have histories you can look into.

I agree, Suikoden 2 is the best out of all of them. It had a great plot and characters.
Suikoden 3 just pissed me off because of the annoying buddy battle system.
And 4...I don't know. I agree with Soma!
1 is okay, Suikoden 2 made up for the graphics.

Noo way, Soma. 2 was far better than 1.
Although the graphics looked similar, 2's seemed like the characters did more actions..they all have their own little movements in battle while in Suikoden 1, they all stood still. The bosses in 2 looked better, too.
Control - RUNNING..OMG IT WAS FINALLY AVAILABLE in 2 and you didn't need the frickin' Holy Rune..
Story - I don't know about you but 2 evoked more emotions than 1. You feel betrayed...almost wanna cry, are happy...I know these moments happen in Suiko one but they shine in Suiko 2.
The COOKING game wasn't in 1! crying
Althought I do admit the dice game was WAAAY easier in 1 than in 2. Shilo is a cheater! xd
It definitely makes you laugh more. The whole Nina/Flik thing is hilarious. The "Shotelheim Reinbach (sp?)" running joke is in there, Viktor being called "Bear"... Oh man..I just wanna go play it.

Once again, I stand by Suikoden I as my favorite. The reason why everyone likes Suikoden 2... and I repeat over and over... is because it is a more refined Suikoden 1. I would hope everything you said about Suikoden 2 is true (the battle animation being better, better minigames, and being able to run) but that's because it is a sequel. It is suppose to improve. Suikoden I though, in my opinion, has the better story, better characters (probably why Suikoden 2 is so loved. I mean, most of your favorites from 1 returned in 2) and overall better.
About more emotions being evoked in 2 than 1, I must truly digress. Who can deny wanting to break down when Ted died? What about Father VS Son? The fall of your own hometown? (speaking of the returnto Gregminister) Oh, and the infamous Gremio! That tops most character loses in all of gaming. Suikoden 2 did the same, but not hardly in droves (even with the overabundance, it was done well).
Suikoden 2 is great, I won't deny that, but it is only made great because it took what made Koden 1 great and improved it. Not even the improvement, the overall game was a benefactor of Suikoden 1 (would most scene like the return of Flik/Viktor, the Banner pass side quest, and underlying story be nearly as rewarding without Suikoden 1?)
Simply put, Suikoden I made Suikoden II great.

I like Suikoden I and II the best. I do tend to favor II over I a little bit. I also think that Suikoden III is a darn good game. I can understand why some people didn't like the new battle system for III but I don't see it as an absolute deal breaker and I think the plot was great. One thing that I didn't like about Suikoden III was the major battle system, It just didn't have the epic feel that the first two games had.
Suikoden IV is just kinda "so-so" for me. I didn't hate it but I felt it was lacking. sweatdrop

The best one is 2 in my opinion. The graphics are great it looks like a real manga. plus there's a great story line with multiple endings.

I think I'd have to say I like 1 the best. I liked the story better than any of the others, and it has all of my favorite characters.
Like Soma said, Suikoden 1 evoked more emotion for me too. Especially Gremio. I played the game at least 5 times, and cried every time when he died. sweatdrop I just seemed more attached to the characters in 1.
Suikoden 2 is my second favorite though.
To me, Suikoden 3 just can't compare to the first 2; it doesn't have any of my favorite characters, and I didn't really like having to be a bunch of different characters. I would have rather just played as Geddoe or Hugo throughout the whole game. And I don't like them making Luc a bad guy! cry

i like the second one best out of all four and a half of the games (i count tactics like a half >_>) but i have no quarrels at all with the other suikodens. the first one was great on its one, seeing that there wouldn't really -be- a suiko without it... and i liked the burning of the village of the elves for some reason. there wasn't a masacre of an entire village in suiko tw- wait, no, there were some. never mind.
*coughs* Suiko three had a few things i didn't like, but the plot was nice, and all that stuff, i'd play it again if i had time. tactics was better than four, by far, well, maybe only by a little, but whatever. the 'traveling by water' idea i was smitten with. it might have taken a while to get to point A to point B, but i had fun controling the little boat!
the only draw back in tactics i can see is the fact that Kyril cant kill fishmen for 3/4ths of the game. and it was a little short. *snorts*

I havent played 2 or 3 so I cannot have a true opinion, but I have beaten 1 and started 4. In my opinion 1 is probably my favorite, just because I have beaten it and it only took me less than a week to beat it with finding everyone.
