Things are looking good so far in terms of people signing up.
I propose the following rough prize structure (to be increased as funds increase & artists sign up):
MAIN PRIZES
Grand Prize
Art - At least 2 nice big pieces
Gold/Items - 2m and upwards
2nd Place
Art - At least 1 nice big piece
Gold/Items - 1m and upwards
3rd + 4th place
Art - At least 2 smaller pieces
Gold/Items - around 1m perhaps?
Quarter-finalists (8 slots)
Art - 1 sketch or so
Gold - 125k = (1m total)
Category Prizes
Eg Best Fantasy/Sci-fi/Modern/Male/Female/Unique/etc
Gold, dependant on how many categories
Consolation prizes
Small amount of gold to those who did well, but didn't win anything.
If we eliminate OCs by rounds, then also more prizes for the semi-finalists and finalists.
RP PRIZES
Best RP performance (based on RP sessions and events, perhaps point based)
Art - 1 nice piece, or several by artists who participated in the RP as well
RP performance 1st Runner up
Gold - around 500k - 1m
RP session awards
Art/Gold/Items, depending on size of the session and whether we have enough artists
SIDE PRIZES
Mini-event prizes
Art/Gold/Items, depending on size of the event and whether artists can churn out small headshots/busts etc
Artist discretionary prizes
Many, small ones from artists to OCs they love
Door gifts, momentous occasions, bumping awards, etc etc
Gold mostly, or small art pieces

If you want to donate gold into the prize pot, post it in this thread.

I can put in an amount of gold, I'm not sure how much my items are worth these days, I've been pretty inactive on here for a while. XD But I'm definitly interested in rewarding fun and creative RP sessions - probably on an ad-hoc basis. If I run any RP events (which I likely will) I will probably include a 'star' prize for each of them, or even a few, but I won't announce it until it's over (otherwise people will be clamoring over each other to be centre stage O_o).

I should be able to put at least 2 mil into the pot. maybe more, or some nice EIs that are worth from 800k-1.5mil. I'll give you a more definite answer when I figure out how much I can liquidate and which I might just give as item prizes. heart

I agree, a sketch auction could raise a couple of mil and put minimal stress on the artists interested. I'm gonna be posting one of those recruitment/interest threads soon btw, so no hurry for this yet methinks.

sketch auction would prolly work quite lovely ^^ i wouldnt mind at all pitching in to help *snort* not like i have anything better to do.. this little town doesnt even have an art museum.. or a zoo.. or any science museums for that matter.. *bored out of her mind* this helps give me purpose (that doesnt involve cleaning house, cooking, or chasing after crotch spawn - i mean children)

I'm in for a sketch auction if you need it. I work slow, though, sooo... biggrin ;;;; lol, be prepared.

Yea, I like the idea of sketches (maybe with a tier for which artists feel like giving more if it goes higher), but even your 'sketches' look nice, Woe... I'm going to need to make a shaded piece to see if I can do it without it looking ugly... I need to find the right paper and stuff so I can have some pencil samples which don't look like scrabble.
Let's cap the contribution at 1m apiece so no one goes crazy? I mean we could all probably sell of all kinds of stuff.

Mosst people value color a lot more than shaded. Shaded actually isn't valued like, at all over lineart. I could donate more.... I'm... slow because I procrastinate like whoa.
